NESHAMINY 1, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
Elayna Curtin scored during corner play with 14:37 remaining in the first half. Mia Sexton and Kayla Connelly assisted on a goal that turned out to be the game winner in a battle of National Conference rivals.
"We had a lot of opportunities, and we finally finished one," coach Jamie Pinto said. "The girls worked hard to get the ball down there, and we finally put it away.
"We came out ready to play. We know every time we play Council Rock it's always a friendly rivalry, and we knew this game was important. The girls came out and played hard and played well. We had other opportunities, but we weren't able to finish. That's something we need to keep working on.”
The Redskins held a 13-8 advantage in shots.
"The whole team played well,” Pinto said. “Our defense is leading the way out there. They're all just working together. The girls are taking everything that we've been working on the past couple weeks of practices and really playing well."
Pinto credited the strong play of senior captain Emily Alexis.
"She's playing in the center, and she's a strong player," the Redskins' coach said. "When she turns it on, she can dominate the middle of the field, and we need her to do that.
"She knows this is her last year here, and she gives it her all every game. She controlled the middle – she's calm, she has good game sense, and she's leading the girls out there."
The Redskins' coach also pointed to the strong play of Elena Donato in the back as key.
Rock North goalie Margaret D’Auria recorded eight saves while Neshaminy’s Jill Mitchell was credited with four saves in the win.
Neshaminy (5-2, 4-0 SOL) will be on the road at Harry S Truman on Wednesday, and Council Rock North (4-4, 3-2) will travel to Pennsbury on Wednesday.
"We played North today, we have Truman Wednesday and then we're back at North playing South,” Pinto said. “We have a big week in front of us, and we have to take one game at a time and work on things each game."
Neshaminy 1-0 1
Council Rock North 0-0 0
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 4, PENNSBURY 2
The Golden Hawks raced to a 3-0 halftime lead, but the visiting Falcons – behind a pair of goals by Nell Webber – trimmed that lead to one to make things interesting, but the Hawks tacked on an insurance goal to seal the win.
Caroline McGovern scored a pair of goals in a three-minute span – the first with an Emily Keller assist – to spot the Golden Hawks a 2-0 lead 20 minutes into Monday’s conference battle. Paige Schmid’s unassisted goal sent the Hawks into halftime with a three-goal advantage.
Webber scored a pair of unassisted goals within a two-minute stretch to make a 3-2 game with 20 minutes remaining in regulation. Seven minutes later, Katelyn Cocco found the cage – using a McGovern assist – to give the Hawks a two-goal advantage that stood until the final whistle.

The Ghosts raced out of the gate to a 4-1 halftime lead on their way to their first conference win of the season.
Freshman Paige Doyle put the Ghosts on the board, connecting on a penalty corner with assists from Grace Terrizzi and Sam McGee. Less than four minutes later, Kaila Brown scored with an assist from Doyle. Sophomore Aileen Hughes turned a pass from senior Jackie Kizel into a goal and a 3-0 lead midway through the half.
The Tigers continued to battle and got on the scoreboard when Ariel Simpson found the cage off a pass from Christina Hughes. McGee answered with an unassisted goal to close out the half.
In the second half, the Ghosts added a pair of goals. McGee set up the first with a pass from outside the circle that Sam Simon turned into a goal. McGee – who finished with two goals and an assist – closed out the scoring with a goal during corner play, using an assist from Doyle, who had a goal and two assists.
Coach Amanda Deering lauded the play of junior defender Maria Angiolillo.

NORTH PENN 5, SOUDERTON 1
Brynne Schoppe turned away 13 shots to spearhead a strong defensive effort by the Knights, who led 1-0 at halftime but blew the game wide open in the second half.
“Souderton was putting the pressure on us early,” coach Shannon McCracken said. “They had 12 corners, and for our defense to come up with the stops, especially early in the game, gave our offense confidence to settle into the game.
“Brynne was a huge part of that. She was really communicating well today, calling the ball and being big in the goal.”
Morgan Rees’ unassisted goal sent the Knights into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Julia Scanlon turned a Bri O’Donnell pass into a goal in the opening minute of the second half, but Ali Casciato answered with a goal for the Indians to make it a 2-1 game at the 17:10 mark.
Less than two minutes later, Mikayla Barrow scored an unassisted goal, and the Indians were not heard from again. Barrow’s second goal (Amber Blackshear assist) and O’Donnell’s goal in the closing seconds gave the Knights their final margin of victory.
“It was a big win for our team,” McCracken said. “We were getting a lot of pressure early, and for the girls to come out in the second half and put the game away is really exciting.
“I thought the turning point was after they scored to make it 2-1 – within two minutes we put one on the board to make it 3-1. I think that made a huge difference. Souderton felt like they were right back in the game and we did too, but for us to answer back within two minutes with another goal put them out of the game. They’re a good team, so it was a great win.”
McCracken lauded the efforts of several players.
I thought Lauren Fahey and Erica Kelly both had great games for – just consistent, solid play,” the Knights’ coach said. “Seema Sajjan did a lot for us and so did Ambler Blackshear.
“Seema, Amber and Brynne are our captains, and I thought they really led us to a nice victory today by their play.”
Souderton held an advantage in shots (13-10) and corners (12-3).
North Penn (3-4, 2-2 SOL) will take on Central Bucks South at War Memorial Field on Wednesday, and Souderton (5-3, 2-2) will host Central Bucks West at 7 p.m.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 9, WILLIAM TENNENT 1
Reilly Finegan turned a Riley Donnelly pass during corner play into a goal less than two minutes into the game, and the Patriots were off and running. By halftime, they led 6-1 on their way to yet another big win. Donnelly led a balanced attack with three goals and one assist.
“The team came out strong and was able to capitalize on a lot of opportunities,” coach Michelle Finegan said.
A goal by Abbey Butler (Cailey Lever assist) made it a 2-0 game at the 26:58 mark. Donnelly (Butler assist), Lindsay Adriaansen and Mackenzie Boyle (Finegan assist) reeled off back-to-back-to-back goals in a two-minute span midway through the half to give the Patriots a 5-0 advantage before the Panthers got on the scoreboard with a goal from Gina Marco (Jenna Cragin assist). Lever (Emma Donnelly assist) found the cage with 4:20 remaining to send East into halftime with a five–goal advantage.
“I thought CB East did a good job in coming out strong, but I also thought we did a good job controlling the play defensively,” Tennent coach Kaitlyn Rauchut said. “We were able to get into their defensive end, but unfortunately weren’t able to capitalize.”
A goal by Lever – who finished with two goals and an assist – as well as back-to-back scores by Riley Donnelly, the first with a Whitney Dietz assist, gave the Patriots their final margin of victory.
Coach Finegan lauded the strong play of Tennent goalie Tricia McCoy.
“It’s refreshing to see a group of student-athletes compete to the end and support each other every single minute of the contest,” Rauchut said. “Today was a challenging game for us, but we’re young, united and have the grit to persevere.
“We’re not going to shy away from strong competition since it only makes us stronger and more determined to get results. Our team is going to capitalize on opportunities presented, compete as a united front and take every play, pass and position and learn from it, and we were able to do that today.
“We’ll take the lessons we learned today and apply them in our game against Pennridge on Wednesday and beyond, so there are a lot of takeaways from the game that are positive, especially the depth of our bench and culture of our program. I’m really pleased to see that regardless of the score, we were able to compete until the end. That’s a testament to the mindset, energy and the desire of this team to get better.”
Central Bucks East (6-1, 5-0 SOL) will travel to Abington on Wednesday, and William Tennent (1-4-1, 0-4) will be on the road at Pennridge on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

UPPER MORELAND 2, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Golden Bears used a pair of perfectly-executed goals – one in each half – to defeat the host Panthers on Monday night.
“We had more opportunities today,” said UM coach Karen Grossi, whose team had endured four one-goal losses. “In previous games, we would take the ball down, take a shot and that would be it.
“We were able to play the rebounds today, we were able to get more shots on cage.”
UM’s first goal was set up by Maddie Mull, who carried the ball down the center of the field and then found teammate Noelle Woodman in the right alley. Woodman sent a pass across goal, and sophomore Madison Casey was there to put it in the cage for a 1-0 Golden Bear lead.
Both teams generated dangerous threats early in the second half. Panther goalie Amanda Tuley turned away back-to-back shots to keep it a one-goal game, and when the Panthers drew their first and only two corners of the game midway through the half, UM goalie Allison Felicetti came up with a big save.
The Golden Bears tacked on an insurance goal on their fourth corner of the half – their 10th of the game. Mull passed the ball to Becca Miekley on her left, and with a defender closing in on her, Miekley passed the ball back to Mull, who banged it home.
“That was the first time I’ve scored in high school, so that was real exciting,” Mull said. “Today we were just playing really well. Everything seemed to be going perfect.
“Becca had a nice pass up to me. We executed nicely. Now I’m looking for my second (goal).”
“We’ve actually had a lot of corners (in past games),” Grossi said. “Today was the first day we’ve done something on them.
“The girls did a nice job talking, which helped them set things up.”
The Golden Bears’ coach went on to acknowledge the play of several players.
“Madison Casey played really well,” Grossi said. “She played a full game.
“Even though Allison Felicetti didn’t have a lot of saves, she made the right decisions.”
Felicetti was credited with two saves in the shutout win while Tuley had eight saves.
“We had some standout players today,” Quakertown coach Diane Molinaro said. “Amanda Tuley in goal did phenomenal.
“Julia Ely, in the second half especially, showed tenacity and aggressiveness.”
Upper Moreland (2-5, 2-3 SOL) will host Wissahickon on Wednesday, and Quakertown (2-5, 1-4) will travel to Springfield Township.

Maddie Templeton turned a pass from Jess Grodsky into a goal with 11:35 remaining in overtime to propel the Flying Cardinals to the dramatic win. Monday’s win came on the heels of a tough week that saw the Cards drop three straight after winning their first three games of the season.
“This was an important bounce-back win today,” coach Heather Boyer said. “We came off a very tough week with good competition in North Penn, PW and Wissahickon, so we really needed to start off the week on a good note and play to our potential.”
Marlee Siegel broke a scoreless tie with a goal at the 21:06 mark of the second half, using a Shannon Reape assist. The Spartans knotted the score with 8:49 remaining in regulation when Mason DeLarso found the cage with an assist from Ellie Hamilton.
Upper Dublin had an advantage in shots (13-8) and corners (12-8).
“Alex Thompson played well in the backfield, and goalkeeper Meghan Muth came up with a few important saves late in the game,” Boyer said.
Muth was credited with four saves. Springfield’s Izzy Boles recorded 12 saves.
Upper Dublin Dublin (4-2-1, 4-1 SOL) will be on the road at Hatboro-Horsham on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Springfield (1-4, 1-3) will host Quakertown on Wednesday.

The Colonials took a 1-0 lead into halftime but exploded for five second-half goals on their way to the decisive win.
Kennedy Reardon’s unassisted goal accounted for the lone score in the first half. In the second half, the Colonials received a pair of goals from Julia Fiddler – the first with a Sam Spera assist and the second assisted by Frankie O’Brien. Reardon connected for her second goal –this one with a Jess Dixon assist. O’Brien converted a penalty stroke to finish with a goal and two assists, and Kerin Bechtel added a single goal, also with an O’Brien assist.
“Although we struggled to capitalize offensively in the first half, (we) were able to score five goals in the second half,” PW coach Charise Halteman said. “I thought the strong play of midfielder Sophie Kolkka and defender Frankie O’Brien held the team together today even when we weren’t playing our best.”
PW goalie Katherine Houghton earned the shutout with two saves. Hatters’ goalie Liz Wilburn had a big day with 17 saves, the majority in the second half.
“(We) came out with all cylinders firing the first half,” Hatters’ coach Laura Swezey said. “Our team was executing with great transition down the field, and we were first to the ball.
“Kait Wallace, Brenna Reilley and Gabby Acker were key in getting the ball up the field on offense. We had our chances for goals, but our deflections did not result in goals. I was proud of how our team played the first half.
“PW is an excellent team, and we needed to play the second half with the intensity of the first half in order to come out with a win. In the second half, PW came out with fire and scored right away. PW was the first to the ball, and the Hatters found themselves on their heels. We still have three-quarters of the season to play, and we are looking forward to the games to come.”
