SOL Patriot
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 7, BENSALEM 1
The Indians celebrated Senior Night, honoring the team’s seniors and then rolling to a decisive win.
“There’s only four seniors this year, and they’ve just had such a crazy year, but they’ve been so upbeat and positive,” Rock North coach Heather Whalin said of Jules Krause, Rebecca Ripans, Skylar Bayard and Lindsey O’Brien. “We have such a young team this year, and they’ve been really instrumental in making it a team.
“It’s just nice to see the freshmen feel comfortable with them. They joke with them, they hang out with them. It takes special kids to be able to do that, and these kids haven’t complained once. They’re so appreciative that they’re getting the opportunity to play, which I love.”
Tuesday’s game against the Owls was the Indians’ first home game of the shortened season, and the Indians’ underclassmen certainly did their part to make sure it would be a Senior Night to remember, scoring five of the team’s seven goals.
Riley Clark’s hat trick led the way while Brenna Schoenfeld added two goals and an assist. Ripans and O’Brien each added a single goal.
Emily L’Heureux scored the Owls’ lone goal.
Council Rock North (2-1, 1-1 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Thursday, and Bensalem (1-2, 0-2) will host Council Rock South Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
The Patriots scored a goal in each of the first three quarters, opening up a 3-0 lead on their way to the win.
Phia Manino put the Patriots on the scoreboard, connecting during corner play with 3:04 remaining in the opening period. A goal by Kenzie Lever with a Manino assist just over a minute into the second quarter sent the Patriots into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
Three minutes into the third period, Sophia Parker scored for a 3-0 advantage. Erin Smith broke up East’s shutout bid with a fourth quarter goal, using a Sophia Wasyliw assist.
The Patriots held a 9-4 advantage in corners while the Titans had an 11-10 edge in shots.
Emily Bullard and Audra Szymborski combined for 10 saves in goal with Bullard recording seven saves in close to three shutout quarters. Szymborski turned away three of four shots she faced to close out the game.
“Audra gave us great minutes as a freshman in a sister school rivalry game,” Spratt said. “I was super proud of the way she played and stepped up. She did very well.
“Emily Bullard set the tone from the very beginning. She had a shutout in her minutes, and she was a mentor to Audra leading into the fourth quarter, which is what I want from a captain. Just her guidance and her being a veteran sharing that gave Audra confidence heading into the fourth quarter. It spoke volumes about her leadership.”
Spratt also lauded the strong play of Lever, Manino, Parker and Paige Hussie.
“They played incredible,” Spratt said. “(Assistant coach) Lori (Ierubino) and I took Sophia Parker aside after the game – watching her and coaching her as a freshman at the varsity level, it was probably, in my opinion, the best varsity game I have ever seen her play. She dominated the midfield, made great decisions. Her goal was absolutely gorgeous. She did everything necessary and was a huge part of the win.
“Phia, Kenz and Hussie were just strong down the center, and we were just so happy to bounce back and show our character and come back with a win.”
Central Bucks East (2-1) will travel to Central Bucks West for a 5 p.m. contest Thursday, and Central Bucks South (1-1-1) will be on the road at Bensalem for a non-league contest Thursday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 7, UPPER DUBLIN 0
The visiting Colonials erupted for four second-quarter goals, breaking a scoreless tie and seizing control of the game.
“PW struggled to get their rhythm in the first quarter,” PW coach Charise Halteman said. “Upper Dublin put a lot of pressure on the ball carrier, and it took the team a while to read the play and transfer the ball.
“Upper Dublin’s goalkeeper also made a lot of great saves on the day. After the break, PW came out and scored four goals to change the momentum of the game.”
Senior Ava Borkowski – who finished with a hat trick – got the ball rolling in the second quarter, scoring back-to-back goals. Molly Lynch scored the third off a well-executed corner play with an assist from Carly McGee.
“Alexa DeLucca tipped a ball on the back post off of a great ball by Kaleigh Missimer to put the Colonials up 4-0 at the half,” Halteman said.
Borkowski and Missimer each added a goal in the third period to put the Colonials on top 6-0. Lynch added her second goal in the fourth quarter, again scoring on corner play.
Upper Dublin goalie Dara Fishman recorded 20 saves in a strong outing. PW’s Sarah Trask turned away all four shots she faced.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-0) will travel to Abington for a 4 p.m. contest Thursday, and Upper Dublin (2-1) will host Wissahickon Thursday.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 5, LOWER MORELAND 0
Maddie Yoder and Anya Kochanowicz each scored a pair of goals to lead the visiting Spartans past the Lions.
Yoder turned a Kochanowicz pass into a goal at the 10:55 mark of the opening quarter, and that 1-0 lead held until Emma Yoder found the cage at the 13:12 mark of the third quarter.
The Spartans blew the game wide open with three more goals in the fourth quarter.
“Lower Moreland held a talented Springfield squad to one goal through 45 minutes of play but could not sustain the offensive attack,” LM coach Shawn Mayer said.
Maddie Yoder connected on her second goal midway through the fourth quarter, and then it was Kochanowicz connecting on back-to-back goals to close out the game – the first on a penalty stroke.
The Spartans – who converted one of two penalty strokes – took 26 shots and had 17 penalty corners.
“We got a strong game offensively from Anya Kochanowicz, Maddie Yoder and Emma Yoder,” assistant coach Anita Stum said. “On defense, Lauren Corrado controlled the breakaways that came her way.”
Springfield Township (4-0) is off until Wednesday when the Spartans will travel to New Hope-Solebury. Lower Moreland (1-2) will be on the road at William Tennent on Monday.
