Check out the recaps for SOL field hockey teams in action Tuesday.

SOL Freedom Division
UPPER MORELAND 4, WILLIAM TENNENT 1
The Upper Moreland Bears honored their seniors: Ella Gould, Melissa Torpey, Sarah Hodum, Addi Gans, Abby Kelly and Tierney Hogan. There were plenty of fans and the Bears put on a show. The seniors and the underclassmen played one of the best games of their season!
Senior standout goalie Tierney Hogan made her 200th save of the season and her 270th career save tonight, and we were able to celebrate her achievement as a team on Senior night!
Scoring summary
First quarter
MJ Reilly (UM) unassisted, 3:01
Second quarter
MJ Reilly (UM) assisted by Ella Gould, 2:50
Ella Gould (UM) assisted by Olivia Torres, 1:00
Third quarter – No score
Fourth quarter
Ella Gould (UM) assist Melissa Torpey, 11:02
William Tennent goal, 3:30
Upper Moreland coach Pam Remmey:
–On the game: “With the Bears pressuring in the first quarter, Melissa Torpey took a hard shot from close range that rebounded off the goalie, and MJ Reilly was in perfect position to scoop it up and put the ball past the keeper. We practice getting rebounds off the keeper with our shooting drills that include tippers, and MJ is one of our best at getting the rebound and scoring.
“The second goal was scored off a corner when Ella Gould inserted to MJ Reilly, and she scored off a hard shot to the cage. Senior Ella Gould played hard at multiple positions, scoring two goals and having the insert assist. Ella is an integral part of our penalty corners as she is the inserter (and sometimes tipper) on offense and our flyer on defensive corners.
“The third goal was scored when Ella inserted the ball, then Olivia Torres took a hard shot to goal and Ella tipped the ball up in the air to space in the net. The fourth goal was scored off another hard shot by Torpey that Ella Gould tipped in for the final UM goal.
“William Tennent came on strong toward the end of the game and scored with 3:30 left in the game.”
–Props: “Senior Sarah Hodum got the game ball for working hard, great positioning and solid redefending at forward.
“Defenders Addi Gans and Abby Kelly played awesome on their senior night, making solid tackles and sending the ball up the field. Halfway through the game, Addi Gans switched to defensive mid where she did a superb job on free hits and keeping the ball in the offensive zone.”
Up next: Upper Moreland will host Hatboro-Horsham in a non-league crossover game Friday, and William Tennent will host Springfield Twp on Monday.

LOWER MORELAND 1, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1 (OT)
As Senior Nights go, this was a good one for the Hatters. No, they didn’t win, but no one was complaining about a game that featured end-to-end action.
“It was a great night for our Senior Night against Lower Moreland,” Hatters’ coach Marie Schmucker said. “Our girls were full of energy out of the gate. They possessed the ball and were able to move it down the field
much better. We have been getting better each game, and it has been giving the girls confidence.”
Cara Torgan put the Lions on the scoreboard in the opening seconds of the third quarter, but the Hatters’ Norah Haber had an answer early in the fourth. Neither team scored the rest of the way.
Scoring summary:
First & second quarters – No score
Third quarter
Cara Torgan (LM), 14:45
Fourth quarter
Norah Haber (HH) 12:53
Hatboro-Horsham coach Marie Schmucker
–On the game: “It was a hard-fought game by both teams. The girls played so hard. They really played their hearts out. It was a really, really good game that could have gone either way. The intensity was incredible. They had beautiful passing. It was a team effort. They played great defense.
“We thought she had a goal in the second half, but it was called back. That could have deflated us, but they kept at it until we tied it up. Neither team could score in the overtime even though we both had some chances.”
–A special Senior Night: “Tonight the seniors led the way with their intensity. Madeline Lee and Sophia Waynick along with junior Sophia Campellone played great defense for us, getting the ball out of our end and starting us down field. Avery Mullen and junior Kenzie Harmon were a steady presence at midfield and on corners for us, and Emily Wagner gave us some speed at forward and helped push the ball up field. Junior Norah Haber scored for us early in the fourth to tie it up. Senior Mia Fisher, who was a three-year goalie for us, has been really solid in the field.
Sydney Matthews, our goalie, played out of her mind – she had a boatload of saves. She had one of her best games. She let one goal in but that was it. She was a brick wall for us tonight and kept us in the game. Annabelle Deacon, Brianna Soto, Aliana D’Angelo – they all played well. It was a total team effort. They all contributed. I’m very impressed with the improvement.”
Lower Moreland coach Deborah Lawlor
–On the game: “The game had lots of end-to-end action that kept both goalkeepers tested throughout regulation and overtime. The Lions played with impressive maturity under pressure, managing the high tempo with composure. Each possession felt critical, and the fans responded.
“I am extremely proud and blessed to be able to be a part of this team. I am in awe of how they have grown in every facet of the game from skill and strategy on the field to leadership in the huddle.”
–Props: “Roya Rosala and Maddie Broderick’s midfield play and Alexis MacPhee’s defense was dynamic. You ROCK!”
Up next: Hatboro-Horsham will travel to Lower Moreland for a non-league crossover game Thursday, and Lower Moreland will be on the road at New Hope-Solebury Monday for a key division battle.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
For the second time in 24 hours, the Patriots found themselves in a nail biter, and for the second time in as many days, they emerged a winner.
With seven minutes remaining, Sophia Gerken turned a Brynn Bonargo pass into the game’s only goal. Bonargo scored the game-winner one night earlier.
Scoring summary
First, second, third quarters – No score
Fourth quarter
Sophia Gerken (CBE) assisted by Brynn Bonargo, 7:00
By the numbers: Shots: CBE 17, CRS 3. CB South goalie Cam Puhalla – 3 saves
Central Bucks East coach Emma Rosenthal:
–On the game: “It was a hard-fought and physical game for sure, but I’m proud of us for fighting until the bitter end. We had a ton of corners, and I told them to just keep knocking, and eventually one of those corners found the back of the cage. It’s hard to have back-to-back one goal games- I know they’re really tired, but we gave it our all.”
–Props: “Emerson McFeely had a fantastic game (on her birthday) along with Syd Lafferty and Nell Zietsman in the midfield. Our defense of Katie Szczypiorski, Kate McCauley, and Morgan Harrington did a great job stopping the breakaways and limiting shot opportunities. Sophia Gerken is always super scrappy in the circle, and that paid off tonight.”
Up next: Central Bucks East will host Souderton on Monday (7pm), and Council Rock South will host Council Rock North on Monday (5pm).

BENSALEM 7, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 0
(Article submitted by Bensalem field hockey)
Tonight we honored two courageous women in our field hockey family. Tonight, the Bensalem Owls hosted the Archbishop Ryan Ragdolls for our Breast Cancer Awareness game. We have had the unfortunate situation of one of our team moms being diagnosed with breast cancer two years in a row. These women are warriors, and it was our turn to fight with them through this new journey of theirs.
What I saw tonight was total support of each other and solidarity against this horrendous opponent. Thanks to all that came out tonight, and thanks to Archbishop Ryan and coach Nickole for helping make this happen. Before the game, we were treated to a special National Anthem sung by our very own Luccianna Krecko.
Mollie Reilly started the scoring off with an assist from sophomore Paige Dando who has been playing spectacularly recently, at the 11:34 left in the first quarter mark. Just about a minute and a half later, Veronica Lennon got her first goal of the year with another assist from Dando. Lennon fired a reverse from the top of the circle that beat the Ryan goaltender. With 3:44 left in the first, Kylie Blank scored her first of three with an assist from sophomore forward Lily Lendzinski. Then in the second quarter with just 4:54 remaining, Blank scored another one unassisted. That made the score 4-0 going into halftime.
Early in the third quarter, just 48 seconds in, Lennon made a spectacular cross-circle pass at the top to an open Lendzinski who fired away to make the score 5-0. It was Lendzinski’s third goal of the season and Lennon’s team leading sixth assist. Kylie Blank finished off her hat trick with 7:06 remaining in the third, with the third assist of the night from Dando. Ava Hood, who had been working hard all night finished off the scoring and the third quarter notching her third goal of the year with yet another assist from Lennon.
Our midfield played so solidly tonight with five assists and a goal. We did a good job of finishing tonight with five different players hitting the back of the net. The defense, who all played equal time tonight, got some good experience and played solidly throughout. Defenders Lexi Hartman and Reagan Colgan got substantial minutes and showed off their defensive prowess. We moved the ball around well tonight attempting to connect on more passes down in the Ragdolls 25.
Up next: Bensalem will host Harry S Truman Monday.
