COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 4, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
The Golden Hawks seized early control of Tuesday’s rivalry game against their sister school, scoring a pair of goals in the first quarter and never looking back.
“We came ready to play tonight,” Rock South coach Kelly Mason said. “Our team played with confidence, and they connected well. We want this energy to carry into the rest of the games this week.”
Megan Rafter scored an early goal that turned out to be the game-winner, putting the Golden Hawks on the scoreboard with an assist from Amanda Green. Maria Freeman (Caroline Martin assist) scored the game’s second goal, and the Golden Hawks took that 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Kylee Hager scored with an assist from Rafter, and Elise Lindros closed out the scoring, finding the cage later in the quarter with an assist from Hager for the 4-0 final.
“We did a great job of controlling the ball and connecting passes moving down the field,” Mason said. “Amanda Green was dominant in the middle of the field and did a great job of distributing the ball to her teammates.
“Kylee Hager was quick down the sidelines with a goal and an assist by crossing the ball across the net. Caroline Martin, Maria Freeman and Sarah Freeman all had great touches in the circle.”
Council Rock South (2-2, 2-1 SOL) will travel to Pennsbury on Thursday, and Council Rock North (2-2, 2-1) will host Neshaminy on Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
A trio of freshmen stole the spotlight in Tuesday’s battle of neighboring rivals, but listening to West coach Dave DeAngelis tell it, this was a team effort.
“Across the board – this afternoon’s match was a total team effort,” the Bucks’ coach said. “Each line stepped up and made plays to transition the ball and push forward on the attack or to support each other defensively against their counter attack.
“Credit to (South) coach Pat Toner and her staff, regardless of yearly changes (due to graduation) – her teams are always fundamentally strong and competitive.”
Freshmen Aida Ierubino and Eve Damsker accounted for all three of West’s goals with Ierubino scoring twice. Freshman goalie Kendra Pitts was credited with three saves in goal in the shutout win.
“The energy level is high every time we play our sister schools – perhaps too high,” DeAngelis said. “We were not as crisp at the beginning of the match as we like to be. However, our team was able to make adjustments throughout the match. Our front lines provide a fast and balanced attack. Today our freshmen provided additional quality play for our team.
“We will continue to focus on team fundamentals and growth.”
West took a 1-0 lead in the second quarter and added a goal in the third quarter. The two teams exchanged goals in the final frame.
Senior Marielle Mauri accounted for South’s goal, scoring on a scramble after corner play with a Lily Haag assist.
“CB West is a very talented and fast team,” Toner said. “We are still learning, but I was pleased with the play of both of our captains, Belle Schute and Lily Haag, and of Ella Haag and Sam Thomas.”
Emma Kraft was credited with four saves in goal for the South. West held a 7-4 edge in shots.
Central Bucks West (3-0, 2-0 SOL) will host Pennridge on Thursday at 5 p.m., and Central Bucks South (2-1) will be on the road at North Penn on Thursday.

The Patriots jumped out to an early lead – scoring a pair of goals late in the opening quarter – on their way to the win in Tuesday’s Colonial battle. Ally Cenci’s two-goal effort led the Patriots.
“I am very proud of the complete and total team effort that went into our win today,” East coach Emma Rosenthal said. “We were able to connect on passes and work the ball around the circle to really get it done in the first half. We’ve been working to not rely on being a second half team, so I’m really excited about the fact that we were able to get things done immediately.”
With 2:08 remaining in the first quarter, Alli Troth scored, tipping a shot by Paige Keller into the cage. Twenty-seven seconds later, Cenci scored with a Troth assist, and the Patriots led 2-0.
Another Cenci goal – this one set up by a cross from Ella Mirarchi to Cenci on the post – put the Patriots on top 3-0. They took that lead into the fourth quarter when Pennridge’s Liz Frisch scored with eight minutes remaining in regulation to break up the Patriots’ shutout bid.
“Paige Keller had a great game today in the midfield dishing passes and being the spark to a lot of offensive plays,” Rosenthal said. “Credit to Pennridge’s defense who did not make it easy today as they held us to only four offensive corners.”
East goalie Audra Szymborski was credited with nine saves in the win. Pennridge’s keeper recorded 12 saves.
Central Bucks East (1-2 SOL) will travel to Souderton on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest. Pennridge (1-4, 0-3) will be on the road at Central Bucks West.

ABINGTON 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0
It was a big day for Abington captains Maddie Slavin and Camryn Stewart.
While Stewart scored a pair of goals, Slavin had a goal and assist, but according to coach Katie Small, the duo had plenty of help.
“It was a total team effort today,” the Ghosts’ coach said. “We were able to get everyone on the team significant playing time and we never gave up. Our captains had a day with three goals and an assist between the two of them.”
Slavin put the Ghosts on the board, connecting on a scramble in the circle after a corner. That 1-0 lead stood until the third quarter when Stewart scored on a corner with an assist from Slavin. In the fourth quarter, Stewart closed out the scoring when she converted a penalty stroke.
“It was a pretty even game,” Small said. “We were just able to capitalize on our corners today, and my defense and (goalie) Nina Van Ekelenburg were able to keep the ball out of the net.
“Upper Dublin has a great, fast attack, and there were some scary times for our ‘D’ but they held strong. Erica Devlin and Maura Callandanoto played really well, and Ivy Brenner did a great job coming off the bench. After a tough start, it is nice to get three wins under our belt.”
Van Ekelenburg was credited with five saves in the shutout win in a contest that saw the Ghosts hold a 7-4 edge in corners.
Abington (3-2, 2-1 SOL) will host Wissahickon on Thursday, and Upper Dublin (1-3-1, 0-2-1) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday.

Julie price, Emily Dobrowolski and Jules Tulio each scored a goal, spotting the Colonials a 3-0 halftime lead on their way to a win by that score.
“Coming after a long weekend, we were a little rusty, but we were able to pull though for a win,” PW coach Jessica Randazzo said. “I give credit to the staff and players at Hatboro-Horsham – they fought hard and I’m happy to see them on the up.”
The Colonials’ coach lauded the efforts of several of her players.
“Julie Price stepped up for us big time in key moments, forcing corners and chasing down the big balls,” Randazzo said. “Maddie Carr also fed a lot of offense for us, and Ava Matthias and Hadley Blake held it down on defense for us.”

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, LOWER MORELAND 2 (OT)
Morgan Riggione scored with time winding down in overtime to propel the visiting Lions to the dramatic win in an early season battle of unbeaten teams.
“We lost a tough one in overtime to an always strong New Hope team,” LM coach Janet Lutter said. “Today was our biggest challenge so far, and the team played with great heart and determination. Unfortunately, it did not end in our favor, but I am proud of each and every one of my players.”
LM goalie Sarah Rosala gave the Lions early momentum with a huge save on a penalty stroke in the opening quarter, and the Lions quickly followed that with a goal assisted by Carlie Keller.
New Hope-Solebury got on the scoreboard three minutes into the second quarter when Ava Cozza turned a pass from Avery Mendola into a goal that sent the two teams into halftime deadlocked 1-1.
With 2:05 remaining in the third quarter, Sophia Cozza scored with an assist from Mendola to give New Hope-Solebury a short-lived 2-1 lead as Jess Pachman answered with a strong shot on a corner with 16 seconds remaining to knot the score, setting the stage for OT.
