CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 42, METHACTON 6
Brian Stella is making blocking punts looks almost routine.
After blocking two punts in East’s win over Hatboro-Horsham last week and taking one in for a touchdown, the senior linebacker was back at it again, blocking a punt that teammate Matt McKenney recovered in the end zone for a TD that put the Patriots on the board.
McKenney’s TD sparked a 35-0 tear for the Patriots, who rolled to their third win without a loss and have outscored their opponents by a lopsided 108-19 margin in that span.
Quarterback Matt Szczypiorski threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half – the first for two yards to Connor Powers and the second a 26-yard completion to Wes Verbit. Jack Elias scored on a seven-yard run as the Patriots took a 28-0 lead into halftime.
While the Patriots were piling up 383 yards of total offense, their defense limited the Warriors to just 139 yards – just 17 yards on the ground.
Dakota Knipe – one of nine East ball carriers – had a game-high 86 yards on the ground.
Central Bucks East (3-0) will face unbeaten Central Bucks South next Friday in its SOL opener at War Memorial Field.

COATESVILLE 54, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 20
It’s been a rough start for the Indians, who didn’t have a week one game on their schedule and then opened the season with 35-6 loss to Central Bucks South. It was hardly a secret that they would have their hands full and then some against the visiting Red Raiders, who opened up a 27-0 lead in the first quarter and took a 30-14 advantage into halftime.
Michael Welde accounted for both of the Indians’ first-half touchdowns – the first on a 75-yard run and the second on an 86-yard kickoff return. Late in the game, Connor Collins scored on a 21-yard pass from Evan Devine.
Welde finished with 79 yards while Matt Shenot had 72 yards before leaving the game with an injury.
Council Rock North (0-2) will be on the road at Neshaminy next Friday.

The Eagles took an 8-6 lead into halftime, but the Colonials owned the second half, reeling off 26 unanswered points. Khan Jamal ran for a pair of touchdowns – the first from 15 yards out and the second for 25 yards in the third quarter that gave PW a lead it would not lose.
