Central Bucks South defeated St. Basil Academy in a non-league game on Sunday.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 36, ST. BASIL ACADEMY 29
The Titans had an early wake-up call on Sunday for an 8:30 a.m. game at the University of the Sciences – a time change that was necessitated because of the Eagles game Sunday evening.
It took a while for the Titans to find their offensive stride – they trailed 7-5 after one quarter, but their defense was in top form from the outset, limiting the Panthers to just one point in the second quarter. The Titans went into halftime with a 13-8 lead.
South outscored St. Basil 12-4 in the third quarter to go on top 25-12 on its way to the win.
Haley Meinel – who earned player of the game honors for South – came up big, scoring a game-high 17 points that included nine points in the third quarter and 13 in the second half. Alexa Brodie added 10 points.
Central Bucks South (14-2, 5-2 SOL) will host Pennridge on Tuesday night.
