Check out the recaps for SOL girls’ basketball teams in action Thursday.

SOL National Conference
PENNSBURY 62, BENSALEM 29
It was LFE (Lady Falcons Elite) Night at Pennsbury on Thursday, and the Falcons put up big numbers for the throng of future Falcons in attendance.
“Lady Falcons Elite is our local basketball league that we started a few years ago,” Pennsbury coach Frank Sciolla said. “It now has 550 girls in our school district. It’s fast growing, and tonight we recognized them.
“The girls stayed afterwards and signed autographs. It was another really good atmosphere like we had against Neshaminy.”
Sparked by five points from Mary Miller, the Falcons opened up a 12-5 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter, Kate Mix had the hot hand, connecting on a three and scoring nine points as the Falcons outscored their visitors 20-2 to go into halftime with a 32-7 lead.
“Bensalem came out tonight and had a game plan, but we just made things difficult for them, made it hard for them to score,” Sciolla said. “We were able to get a lot of girls in the game, and 11 different girls scored, and that was fun, especially on a night like tonight.
“Kate Mix got hot for a stretch in the second quarter, and that was good for her.”
Mix finished with 12 points to lead a balanced Falcon attack. Ava Sciolla also finished in double figures with 10. Mary Miller had nine points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal. Cami Wiegand added eight points, and Nicole Pompili had seven. Bella Arcuri contributed five rebounds, three assists and one steal to go along with three points.
Haley Keenan led the Owls with 13 points.
“Bensalem was down a girl because of sickness,” Sciolla said. “They’re having a really good year.
“They’ve got 10 wins, they’ve got a chance to make the playoffs. Everything they want is in front of them, and they’ve been building towards this. Haley Keenan, (Emily) Wineburg and (Chloe) Munyon – all three of them are third-year starters. It’s good to see them have success.
“Of course, you have somebody like Sheldon Per, who’s coached close to 600 games as a high school coach and has had so much experience on the sidelines. He’s done a nice job with them. They’re coming down the stretch. If they win two more games, they probably make the playoffs.”
Pennsbury (12-4, 5-3 SOL) will travel to Villa Joseph Marie for a non-league game Friday, and Bensalem (10-6, 4-5) will host Council Rock South on Tuesday.

Victoria Williams led a balanced attack with 10 points. Lily Hyatt added nine points, and Rebecca Selverian had six.
“We spread the ball around very well,” coach Rodney Cline said. “We saw the floor well today. To get 13 girls in the game is definitely a blessing.
“I’m just proud of how well they played together, I’m proud of them continuing to fight through the journey. A season is not easy – it has ebbs and flows, ups and downs emotionally.
“Being a student-athlete is not easy when you’re playing three or four games a week and trying to maintain a GPA at a certain level. Expectations are there from your parents and yourself, and you’re still trying to play the game of basketball. It’s not easy.”
The Trojans received word Thursday that senior standout Brianna Tilghman – out with concussion symptoms – will not be returning this season.
“I’m just proud of our girls – they went through mid-terms this week, they’re playing together and finding out today that Brianna is out for the season,” Cline said. “I’m proud of how they bonded together and just played for each other and Bri and our other senior, Sam Comonitski, who can’t play because she broke her hand. It’s just a blessing to have a great group of girls.
“Bri was close to scoring a thousand points, and that hurts also, but it’s about the future, it’s not about now.”
