CHELTENHAM 53, PHOENIXVILLE 41
Senior Amelia Yevoli and freshman Cassie Bugg both posted impressive double-doubles to lead the Lady Panthers to a non-league win over the visiting Phantoms. Yevoli finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds while Bugg had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
“I’m really happy for the girls,” Cheltenham coach Ben Bowman said. “After a tough loss in Quakertown last night, they came out and battled for four quarters.
“It was nice to see them play as a team and hit some shots. It was a team effort lead by Amelia Yevoli’s 16 points and 15 rebounds. Cassie Bugg chipped in with 14 and 15 rebounds herself.”
The Lady Panthers – behind five points from Bugg – opened up a 13-5 lead after one quarter and took a 25-17 lead into halftime. Bugg’s 11 points led the Lady Panthers in the half.
The second half belonged to Yevoli, who torched the Phantoms for 10 points in the third quarter. Included in those 10 points were a pair of 3s. She had 12 second-half points.
In addition to Yevoli and Bugg, Arianna Davis had eight points, Mikahila Leighton added seven, and Tyrina Ragsdale had six points.
Cheltenham (3-12, 0-9 SOL) will host William Tennent on Friday.
