Hatboro-Horsham 58, Wilson Area 46
Alice Hall and Emily Thomas combined for 39 points to lead the Hatters to the impressive road win.
“I am so proud of the effort these girls give night after night,” coach Dennis Steinly said. “We rode the bus for an hour and a half to play a really talented team in Wilson Area. They have some skilled shooters and we held them to one made three.”
The two teams were deadlocked 12-12 after one quarter, and the Hatters took a 29-25 lead into halftime.
“We got off to a slow start and missed some open looks, but as I expect every game, our defense kept giving us opportunities on offense,” Steinly said. “It starts with Cam Ryan – she sets the tone for us and has become a great floor leader.
“We turned up the heat on defense in the third quarter and got some breakaway layups, and the momentum fueled a couple of threes from Thomas and Howard. Alice Hall really dominated the lane in the middle two quarters. Emily Thomas came up big in the second half with 11 of her 18. Jess Howard played suffocating defense. It was a good solid win against a team that will win a lot of games this year.”
Hall led the Hatters with 21 points while Thomas added 18, including a pair of threes. Jess Howard, who also buried a three, was in double figures with 10, and Ryan had six points.
Wilson senior Ashley Errico led all scorers with 23 points, which included a 12-for-14 effort at the foul line.
Hatboro-Horsham (2-2) will be on the road at Upper Dublin for Friday’s SOL opener.

Cheltenham 61, Bishop McDevitt 23
Umayrah Sulayman buried a pair of threes and scored eight first-quarter points, propelling the Lady Panthers to an 18-5 lead at the end of one quarter. By halftime the sophomore guard had 11 of her team-high 13 points, including three three-pointers, and Cheltenham had a commanding 37-14 lead.
Bishop McDevitt managed just nine second-half points as the Lady Panthers owned this one from the opening tap.
“It was a great all-around team effort,” coach Ben Bowman said. “Umayrah sets the tone on both ends of the court with her defense and finding her 
teammates.”
Cashmere Moore added 11 points, including a three, Kyla Ogden had nine points, and Nahze Blackwell added eight points, which included a pair of three-pointers.
“Cashmere Moore and Kyla Ogden came off the bench to give us energy and quality minutes,” Bowman said. “We are still not where we need to be as a team, but it feels good to get another win. I was happy for the girls.”
Cheltenham (2-1) will travel to Upper Moreland for Friday’s SOL opener at 7 p.m.

JENKINTOWN 28, UPPER MORELAND 27
The Golden Bears lost a heartbreaker. Trailing by one and with time winding down, they had the ball, but the Drakes defended well, the play broke down and Jenkintown escaped with the win.
The Drakes led 11-8 after one quarter and took an 18-12 lead into the final quarter when the Golden Bears’ offense came to life, scoring 15 points.
EmmyFaith Wood led the Golden Bears with nine points while Emma Meakim had eight. Bean Hughes chipped in seven points.
Upper Moreland (2-2) will host Cheltenham in Friday’s SOL opener.

Lansdale Catholic 70, Pennridge 65
The Rams took a seemingly comfortable 32-23 lead into halftime and still led by four heading into the final quarter, 51-45. The Crusaders – after putting up 22 points in the third quarter – erupted for 25 more in the fourth to earn the come-from-behind win.
Julia Kreider’s 17 points led the Rams. Evelyn Loughery added 14 points, and Sophie Cweiber had nine. Emma Pyne chipped in six points.
Pennridge (2-1) will travel to William Tennent for a non-league game Friday.
