Bensalem was a winner in SOL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Owls continue to get big contributions from their young players. In Wednesday’s non-league romp over Conwell-Egan, sophomore Chloe Munyon earned scoring honors, finishing with 22 points. Emily Wineburg added 15 while Alayna McSeed had 14. Haley Keenan chipped in four points.
The Owls controlled play from start to finish, opening up a 12-4 lead after one quarter and extending that to 22-10 by halftime. A 19-8 third quarter buried their hosts as they rolled to their second win of the season.
“Half court defense was the key for the Lady Owls tonight,” coach Don Bogan said. “The girls really worked hard on the half court defensive pressure.
“The girls from Conwell-Egan played hard from beginning to the end.”
Bensalem (2-1) will be back in action next Tuesday when the Owls will travel to Pennsbury for the SOL opener for both squads.

AGNES IRWIN 44, HATBORO-HORSHAM 40
The game started out on a promising note for the Hatters, who led 9-5 after one quarter. Agnes Irwin responded with an 18-7 second quarter surge to go into halftime with a 23-16 lead. The Hatters never could make up the ground they lost.
Kyle Halko led the Hatters with 11 points while Sydney Kemp had nine and Sarah Sciubba, seven points. Kemp had a team-high nine rebounds while Ryan had three assists and three steals.
Hatboro-Horsham (0-3) will travel to Springfield Township next Tuesday for the SOL American Conference opener for both squads.
