Check out the recaps for SOL girls’ lacrosse teams in action Wednesday.
Non-league
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 16, HATBORO-HORSHAM 3
Looking for the definition of a team win, this was it as twelve players contributed to the scoring in West’s non-league road win Wednesday.
“It was a total team effort today in our win against Hatboro Horsham,” West coach Jordan Sanocki said. “It started with our midfielders capitalizing on the draw and winning over 75 percent of the draws today.
“The defense was communicating, working together, and came up strong with 10 caused turnovers and 10 ground balls. We worked together well on transitions and had great ball movement on the offensive end which allowed us to move the ball and distribute the scoring effort.”
Central Bucks West (2-0) will travel to Parkland Saturday for a non-league game at 12:30 pm.
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 14, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4
The Golden Hawks bounced back from a disappointing loss to Springfield Twp to notch a no-doubt-about it win over the Vikings, opening up an 8-1 halftime lead and rolling to the non-league win.
“We played our way – all 12 players on the field,” Rock South coach Madison Hurwitz said. “Four attackers getting to goal, moving with and without the ball, and riding really hard to get the ball back.
“The defense – led by Emerson Wackowski and goalkeeper Kaya Mallon – was incredible. They communicated, caused turnovers, and took care of the ball in transition. Middies ran tirelessly up and down the field.”
Mia Geneles led the balanced attack with three goals and two assists while Ella Mayberry and Mia Schink each contributed two goals and two assists. Kelly Longmore and Liz Hearn both added two goals and an assist, and Camryn Brundage also had a three-point game with one goal and two assists. Amanda Smith added two goals.
