Check out the wraps for SOL girls’ lacrosse teams in action Monday.

American Conference
UPPER MORELAND 10, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 9
The Golden Bears opened up a 6-3 halftime lead and then held off the defending American Conference champions in the second half to earn the big win.
“We are so young this year,” UM first-year coach Kim Frantz said. “We have so much talent in my freshmen class and my younger kids.
“I’m starting four freshmen, and for them to come out and play a pressure game like this and be able to control the game and slow it own and not feel the pressure is huge. I think the biggest thing is this gives them a little bit of confidence.”
A key to the win was the Golden Bears ability to control the draw. Jess Flanagan led the way with six draw controls. She also had three goals and dominated the ground balls. Sydney Bachmayer had three draw controls, three goals and two assists.
“Both girls led the team and were a huge presence on the field,” Frantz said.
A pair of freshmen also came up big with Emma Meakim contributing two goals and Moira Olexa added a draw control, one goal and an assist. Olexa was second on the team with ground balls. Allison Felicetti contributed one goal and one assist.
Goalie Cheyanne Grumm delivered a pair of clutch saves down the stretch.
Making the win more impressive is the fact that it came on the heels of a 13-4 loss to Central Bucks East on Friday.
“We had a terrible, terrible game on Friday,” said Frantz. “I think that helped us, in a way.
“Our first four games were easy games, so going into Friday’s game was tough, and I think it was an eye opener for them about what level they really have to play at. I think that helped us to realize the pressure we have to deal with. They just handled the pressure, and I think that’s huge for us because we are so young.”
The Golden Bears were 4-0 heading into the East game, winning those four games by an average of 11 goals.
“(The East) game was the first game my team had to play defense,” Frantz said. “When you come off easier games, it’s tough.”
For the Colonials, Victoria Betterly had four goals, and Ali Diamond had three goals and two assists. Raquel Baskin and Lexi Petrakis each had one goal.
