Central Bucks West 12, Pennsbury 11
Central Bucks West rallied from a five-goal deficit to hand Pennsbury its first loss of the season in a tight National Conference game Monday.
“This win was huge for us,” Central Bucks West coach Rebecca Cartee Haring said. “To not only come back down 1-6, but just the way the team was able to lean on each other. We knew that this game was going to be a battle, but I didn't anticipate that we would get so far behind early. But when I looked out on the field I realized that the girls were not the least bit fazed by the scoreboard. They just went to work.”
The Bucks rallied to knot the score 7-7 at halftime and then edged the visiting Falcons by one in the second half.
Casey Reichwein (one assist) had three goals in the win while Julia Carey and Tori Albrecht each added a pair of goals as did Maddy McGarry (one assist). Shelby Hahn, Lindsey Horton and Emma Haring (one assist) each had one goal.
“We have players who are able to step up when needed: Casey wins the draws we need, Tori and Julia step up for two goals apiece, Paige (Gilbert) and Emma (Haring) were ground ball machines, Shannen (Roy), Emma (Haring), Maddy (McGarry), Kiersten (Mangin) and Julia (Carey) all caused turnovers,” Cartee Haring said.“This was a solid Pennsbury team, and we had to work for everything we got. And, tomorrow against Abington we face another test. But I know these girls, and they have something special and I am so proud of them.”
Sarah Walcott and Maggie Golder each had four goals in the loss while Darrien Furiness had two goals and Brooke Weaver netted one.
“It was a tough loss, but we have a lot to learn for the second half of our season,” Pennsbury coach Shannon MacPherson said. “The girls fought the entire game.”
Central Bucks West (5-3, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Abington Tuesday for a non-league battle between the conference leaders. Pennsbury (9-1, 2-1) is off until Tuesday, April 23, when the Falcons will host Neshaminy.

Pennridge 20, Council Rock North 5
Pennridge opened up a 10-2 halftime lead and cruised to a big victory over visiting Council Rock North in National Conference play Monday.
Jenna Lund led the way for the Rams with six goals, one assist and five ground balls while Aubrey Maher (one assist, two ground balls), Morgan Wahlers (two assists, five ground balls) and Jill Csaszar (one assist) each had three goals.
Mackenzie Herbst contributed two goals in the win and Amelia Loughery, Peytan Rimmer (four ground balls) and Macy Price each had a goal. Emily Amsden added four ground balls and Alex Lippmann had two ground balls.
Senior Lucy Breithaupt had four goals in the loss while seniors Emily Booth and Lily Ries (one assist) had one goal each.
Pennridge (2-7, 1-2 SOL) will host Quakertown on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and Council Rock North (1-7, 0-3) is off until next Monday when the Indians will host Council Rock South at 5 p.m.

North Penn 9, Central Bucks East 6
North Penn remained unbeaten in the National Conference with a big win over visiting Central Bucks East on Monday.
“We did an outstanding job winning the majority of the draws,” North Penn coach Heather Mellow said.“Our defense played great, making sure our slides were there to help.
“Shannon Haedrich played tight to (Central Bucks East’s) Riley Forman, which helped slow down their offense. She did awesome denying passes to Riley inside the eight meter. It was another great team effort! And a huge league win.”
Grace Sacchetti paced the Maidens with three goals, one assist and seven draw controls while Brooke Millevoi had a pair of goals. Alli Lindsay (two assists), Casey Cavanaugh (three draw controls), Kristin Varilla and Lily Szilagyi (one assist) each had one goal. Emily Varilla had two draw controls.
Forman and Bridget Bishop each had two goals for the Patriots while Quinn Ferry and Ava Lisle had one goal each in the loss.
North Penn (5-4, 3-0 SOL) will host Easton in a non-league game on Wednesday, and Central Bucks East (6-4, 2-1) will host Pennridge on Thursday.

SOL American Conference
Souderton 11, Hatboro-Horsham 10
Randi Hess had five goals, including the game-winner late, to help host Souderton rally past Hatboro-Horsham in an American Conference game Monday.
The final goal by Hess gave the Indians an 11-9 lead before the Hatters netted a late goal to account for the final margin.
“We spent a lot of time in our defensive end, especially in the second half,” Souderton coach Nancy Offner said. “They were very patient on attack, trying to set up plays and wear down our defense. Our defense stayed very strong – just stuck with them and stayed patient and put pressure on when they had to and caused some turnovers.
“We have a couple young players and even the seniors who haven’t played varsity before. They really have maintained their composure this year defensively.”
Riley McGowan (one assist) also had five goals for the Indians while Kylie Norbeck had one goal. Goalie Lauren Scott made eight saves in the win.
Offner praised the play of sophomores Sophia Ofalt and Halina Saydam and junior Mariah Bainbridge.
“We’ve had some close, crazy games,” Offner said. “They have led our defense, and even as younger players, they keep their composure, they keep their heads about them, they play smart, and they’ve been really steady for us.
“I think our midfield play has really gotten better throughout the season. The girls are playing together, and that’s been the big difference in our last couple of games.”
Midfielders Hess and Kiley Norbeck also drew the praise of Offner.
“They both do an excellent job at stopping that ball as it comes in if we don’t come up with possession, slowing it down,” the Indians’ coach said. “The girls are really starting to play well together. We make our mistakes, but we’re recovering from them much better.
“Hatboro-Horsham played well, they move the ball very well through the midfield, and they were steady offensively. Their goaltenders were good. They have talented girls in goal."
Souderton (5-5, 2-2 SOL) will host Penncrest in a non-league game Wednesday, and Hatboro-Horsham (4-5, 1-3) will host Quakertown on Wednesday.

Upper Dublin 15, Cheltenham 2
Mack Moore, Becky Browndorf, Caroline Kohlbrenner and Jackie Rama each had two goals to help lift Upper Dublin past Cheltenham in an American Conference game Monday.
The Cardinals, who led 13-1 at halftime, had seven other players find the net as Ellie Eby, Julia Reardon, Allie Rock, Meg DiMartile, Michelle Wright, Maisie Hanson and Jenn McCarry each had one goal.
Mack chipped in with two assists while Browndorf and Eby each had one assist.
Chrissa Dorley and Kayla Brockington had the goals for the Panthers.
Upper Dublin (6-4, 3-1 SOL) will host Haverford in a non-league game Wednesday, and Cheltenham (0-4, 0-3) will host Upper Moreland on Monday.

Abington 11, Springfield Township 6
Shea Gormley and Kaley Ehnow each had a hat trick in Abington’s American Conference victory over Springfield Township on Monday.
The Ghosts, who also received a pair of goals from Abby Thomas, led by three at halftime (6-3) and were able to keep their advantage the rest of the way.
Abby Johnson (two assists), Maddie Hinkle (one assist) and Maura Cabry each added a goal in the win while Jamira Mashore provided four assists. Sam Simon and Kelly McCallister each had one assist and goalie Ellie Hughes had 10 saves.
Maddie Yoder paced the Spartans with a hat trick, three draw controls and one ground ball while Emily Smith (four draw controls), Emily Walsh (one draw control) and Ella Marino (two draw controls, one ground ball, one caused turnover) each had a goal.
Sophia Perry had two assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover and Charlotte Henry had one ground ball. Goalie Annie Ryan made 10 saves in the loss.
Abington (6-2, 3-0 SOL) will host Central Bucks West in a non-league game Tuesday at 8 p.m., and Springfield Township (4-4, 1-3) will travel to Wissahickon on Wednesday.

Upper Moreland 15, Quakertown 4
Megan O’Donnell, Moira Olexa, Cassidy Hirsch, Bryanna Gordan and Emma Meakim combined for 13 goals to help power Upper Moreland past visiting Quakertown in an American Conference game Monday.
O’Donnell led the offense with four goals, three assists and one draw control while Olexa had a hat trick, one assist and five draw controls. Hirsch contributed two goals, three assists and three draw controls and Gordon and Meakim (one assist) and had two goals.
Alexis Lamb (two draw controls) and Breanne Knox (two assists) each had one goal and AbbyEllen Wood had one draw control.
Sarah Pickard had four saves and Emma Hurley had two saves in the win.
The Panthers were led by sophomore Kayla Hillaert with three goals and four ground balls while freshman Ava Milne had one goal and one ground ball. Sophomore Moran Sipprell had one assist and one ground ball while sophomore Natalie Reilly had three ground balls and freshman Kyla Frederick had two ground balls.
Upper Moreland (5-2, 2-0 SOL) will be on the road at Plymouth Whitemarsh on Wednesday, and Quakertown (2-6, 1-2) will travel to Pennridge on Wednesday.

Wissahickon 11, Plymouth Whitemarsh 9
Wissahickon rallied twice to post an American Conference win over host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Monday.
The Trojans trailed 5-1 in the first half and 6-4 at intermission before coming back to post the victory.
Sophia Chiodo Ortiz powered the offense with six goals. Coach Rob Intrieri lauded the play of his defense in the second half.
Max Lesczyzski had four goals and two assists for the Colonials while Lex Petrakis had a hat trick. Callie Kolkka and Raquel Baskin had one goal each in the defeat.
Wissahickon (8-0, 3-0 SOL) will be on the road at Penncrest for a non-league game Tuesday, and Plymouth Whitemarsh (2-6, 0-2) will host Upper Moreland Wednesday.
