Non-league
WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 12, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 6
The Colonials trailed by just two goals after a competitive first half but scored just once in the second half of Tuesday’s non-league road game.
“It was a really well played first half for both teams,” PW coach Ellen Reilly said. “We were in the game. We hurt ourselves on several transitions and turnovers in critical situations, giving away possession.
“In the second half, we couldn’t capitalize when we were a man up in two situations. The girls need to settle down and be patient with the ball. We do a nice job on defense and create a turnover and then can’t transition the ball or secure a good shot on the other end. They need to just stay working hard and understanding the game. With game experience and understanding comes confidence, so we will be back at it tomorrow against New Hope-Solebury.”
For the Colonials, Bri Reynolds and Liv Reilly both had two goals. Meghan Wendler and Marleigh Burton each added one goal.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-5, 2-2 SOL) will host New Hope-Solebury on Wednesday.
