The Trojans took an 8-6 lead into halftime but saw it slip away in the second half.
“We had two yellow cards in the second half that really had an impact on the momentum of the game,” Wissahickon coach Nicole Fisher said. “Our defense put up a great effort the last minute or so to get the ball back, but GA did a great job holding that final possession.
“Moving forward, we are going to take this as lesson and focus on buying in and sticking to the game plan and have more composure and control when we are up in close games. We have a small team this year so our depth is not quite there, and we need to continue to be flexible and work with what we have and control what we can.”
Despite being face-guarded, Emma Baker led the Trojans with five goals and one assist to go along with two caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Freshman midfielder Emma Greenberg had seven draw controls, three goals, one assist and two caused turnovers.
“Emma Greenberg had a phenomenal showing in the midfield,” Fisher said. “She worked her tail off on re-defending and did great adjusting with a new defense.”
Alexa McCabe contributed three goals, and Alexis Hobson had one goal and four assists.
Camille Hubbs had a stellar game in goal with seven saves.
“I’m asking quite a bit from them,” Fisher said. “We also are working with minimal practices together with a new coach, so it’s taking some trust and early buy in.”
Wissahickon (5-2, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Springfield Township on Wednesday.
