Sparked by the five-goal effort of Paige Dinkel, the Flying Cardinals upped their conference record to 5-0 with a win over their neighboring rival.
“It was a great team win today,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “I have been saying that the girls are having fun playing as a team and learning how to work together more and more each game. Wissahickon played a hard game, and we battled it out all over the field. We take one game at a time and learn from every situation.”
Dinkel also led the Cardinals with four draw controls to go along with two ground balls. Anna DiMartile contributed three draw controls, three ground balls and one caused turnover. Olivia Broome had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

“We were able to figure out the draw in the second half which was key to gaining possession,” Cross said. “Once we were on attack, we were able to work the ball and look for good shots instead of rushing them like we did in the first half.
