WISSAHICKON 11, HATBORO-HORSHAM 7

In a memorable night for Hatboro-Horsham’s graduating seniors, it was an equally memorable game for Wissahickon senior Carolyn Wilde. The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters hosted Wissahickon Thursday night in a league clash that also celebrated the Hatters’ graduating players. Although it was the Hatters that controlled the stat line early on, Wissahickon scored two early through Carolyn Wilde, which included her 100thleague goal. Hatboro-Horsham went down 5-0, but after a timeout managed to claw its way back to 8-4 at halftime.
Wissahickon’s first half goals off of 17 shots were scored by Sam Interieri (2), Claire Tarzia, Carolyn Wilde (2), Emily Vervlied (2), and Shannon Stagliano. The Hatters only had 11 first half shots but managed to force nine first half turnovers and scored four goals from Gwyn Acker, Sydney Rausa (2), and Carly Daley. The Hatters’ second half comeback was not made any easier as they went down a player after two yellow cards were given to Kerryn MacBride.
Wissahickon and Hatboro-Horsham finished the second half on level terms as Wissahickon aims to finisher higher in the league with a 11-7 win over the Hatters. Wissahickon’s three second half goals fromnine shots were scored by Carolyn Wilde (2) and Emily Vervlied. Hatboro-Horsham’s three goals from 12 shots were scored by Carly Daley – who finished the game with two assists as well – Sydney Rausa, and Gabby Acker. The Hatters also had nine forced turnovers.
For the Trojans, Megan DeGroat had five ground balls while Tarzia and Kelly Dickson had four each. Vervlied, Wilde and Caty Santucci had three each, and Intrieri and Talia Abrahams both had two. Stagliano, Mary Matthews and Marie Dickson each had one ground ball. Kelly Dickson had one caused turnover and Verlied had a pair. Wilde had four draw controls, Intrieri had two and Vervlied added one.
Wissahickon’s Kyra Myers stopped 11 of 18 shots (61.2 percent) on the day as the Hatter’s Arielle Hammer had 12 of her own.
Wissahickon (9-4, 5-1 SOL) travel to Council Rock South on Friday. Hatboro-Horsham (3-12, 3-4) will travel to Upper Moreland in their next league game on Tuesday.

ABINGTON 14, UPPER MERION 5
The Ghosts raced to an 8-2 halftime lead on their way to the decisive win. Sam McGee turned in another stellar outing for the Ghosts, finishing with six goals, one assist and six draw controls. Casey McCallister added four goals and one assist. Cathy Staerk had two goals, one assist, one ground ball and five draw controls. Jules Greco chipped in one goal and one caused turnover and Rachel Morris had a single goal. Lindsay Baer added an assist. Also contributing were Emma Garg (one caused turnover, one ground ball), Kirsten Pedicone (one caused turnover), Kaley Enhow (one ground ball) Becca Gable (one draw control).
Goalie Kiara Brasher was credited with seven saves.
For the Vikings, Anna Davis scored three goals while Quinn O'Malley and Francesca Lindelow had one each.
Abington (13-3, 7-1 SOL) will be on the road at Wissahickon on Tuesday, and Upper Merion (7-7, 3-3) will host Norristown on Friday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 9, UPPER DUBLIN 8
The Flying Cardinals gave the visiting Colonials all they could handle, trailing by one (6-5) at halftime and never going away.
“Upper Dublin played an aggressive game, fighting for draws, ground balls and outhustling the Colonials,” PW coach Ellen Reilly said. “We had a lot of opportunities but could not capitalize. In the first half, we had six goals on 20 shots.
“The second half went back and forth with both teams creating turnovers on the offensive end. We played better defense in the second half. Sarah Putsch, Aurora Mills and Sam Ward all came up with great defensive plays. Sarah came up with the positive turnover with one minute on the clock and Upper Dublin on offense trying to tie the score.”
The Flying Cardinals opened up a 3-0 lead in a first half that featured a pair of ties. The Cards trailed by one at halftime but rallied to go on top 7-6, and after the Colonials knotted the score, the Cards rallied to take an 8-7 lead. The Colonials closed it out with back-to-back goals.
“Overall, we did a phenomenal job playing together today,” UD coach Lauren Mateja said. “PW is a strong team, one of the best in the area.
“Our attack did a great job exploiting their backer zone defense and placing shots against their lefty goalie, the first one we’ve seen all season. Five of our goals were assisted – we were looking for the open option and having smart possessions.
“Defensively, we played strong, jumping the ball when they set up into plays. Sarah (Herchenroder) came up big in cage yet again and kept us in it. It was definitely one of our stronger team performances all season.”
Ali Diamond (three goals, one assist) and Maddie Berman (three goals) led the Colonials. Victoria Betterly added a pair of goals, and Sophie Kolkka had one goal. Monica Dresnin had three assists.
For the Cards, Caroline Wall (two goals, one assist, one ground ball, two draw controls), Lindsey Schreiber (two goals, one caused turnover, one ground ball, five draw controls) and Maddie Templeton (two goals, one ground ball) led a balanced attack. Also contributing were Nancy DeCamcara (one goal, one assist, one ground ball), Jess Grodsky (one goal, one caused turnover, one ground ball), Hannah Reape (two assists, three ground balls, one draw control), Becky Browndorf (one ground ball, one draw control), Jess Derr (one caused turnover, two ground balls), Mary Petrucci (two caused turnovers, one ground ball, one draw control) and Paige Lawton (one assist).
Herchenroder recorded eight saves in goal.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (13-2, 8-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West on Monday. Upper Dublin (9-6, 5-3) will be on the road at Souderton on Friday.

Delaney Smith had a huge game for the Golden Bears, scoring five goals, adding four assists and grabbing three draw controls. Jess Flanagan and Sydney Bachmayer netted two goals each, and Allison Felicetti and Madison Pisut had one goal each.
MG Wood played strong on defense, according to UM coach Pam Remmey. Goalie Emma Hood recorded seven saves.
For the Spartans, Lindsey Smith had three goals, one caused turnover and two draw controls, and Meg Chandler added two goals, two assists and one caused turnover. Ellie Hamilton added one goal and one assist, and Emily Walsh contributed one goal, one caused turnover and two ground balls. Allison Yoder had one assist. Gracie Woron (one caused turnover, three ground balls, two interceptions, one draw control) had a strong all-around outing. Jameson Krewson (one caused turnover, two ground balls), Sophia Perry (one ground ball), Fiona Tran (one caused turnover), Emily Giampietro (two draw controls) and Rachel Harmon (one draw control) also contributed. Spartan goalie Margrethe Leis had four saves.
Upper Moreland (7-7, 3-4 SOL) will host Jenkintown on Friday, and Springfield (3-8, 1-6) will travel to Jenkintown on Monday.
CHELTENHAM 14, NORRISTOWN 6
Scoring for Cheltenham was Carly Waldman with four goals, one assist, four draw controls, three ground balls and an interception. Also scoring was Haley Wilken with seven ground balls, Marycait Dorley with five goals and three draw controls, Dana Shelton with two goals, three assists and three ground balls, Amber Turner with two goals, one assist and two ground balls, Carissa Dorley with one goal and one assist. Morgan Sloan had 13 saves in goal.
National Conference
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 15, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 7
In a battle for positioning in the power rankings as well as the conference standings, it was the Bucks, who led 6-5 at halftime, earning the important win.
“After a slow start and back and forth first half, our attack began clicking,” West coach Tara Schmucker said. “We controlled most of the draw controls in the second half as well.”
Freshman Casey Reichwein led the Bucks with six draw controls while Bryn Boylan had four and Maddie Maio, three draw controls.
Olivia Fitzgerald led a balanced attack with four goals while Reichwein and Finley Ueland had three each. Boylan had one goal and four assists while Maio had two goals and one assist. Dani Dundas contributed one goal and one assist, and Meghan Darcy added a single goal.
“Olivia Fitzgerald found the net today and had another strong performance,” Schmucker said. “Lucy Varner played well defensively and did several little things that made a big difference.”
For the Indians, Claire Jarema had a hat trick while Devon Mela and Anna Lehman had two each.
West goalie Molly Naylor was credited with three saves in the win. Rock North goalie Margaret D’Auria recorded six saves.
Central Bucks West (11-4, 8-1 SOL) will host Souderton on Tuesday night, and Council Rock North (9-5, 6-3) will travel to Pennsbury on Tuesday.

Twelve Falcons put their names in the scoring column in Thursday’s win. Brooke Weaver and Sarah Benzinger both connected for hat tricks to lead the balanced attack. Annie Price added two goals and one assist, and Kyra Snyder had a pair of goals. Camille Mumford had one goal and one assist, and contributing one goal each were Lily Nolan, Missy Frankil, Sarah Davis, Morgan Haney and Sydney Plunkett. Nell Webber and Natalie Ward each chipped in an assist.
Pennsbury (4-9, 3-6 SOL) will host Upper Moreland on Monday, and Quakertown (2-14, 0-9) will host Pottsgrove in a non-league game on Friday.

NORTH PENN 15, NESHAMINY 0
Chloe Novak, Bri O’Donnell and Jenn DeLongis each scored three goals to lead the Maidens. Novak also had a pair of assists while O’Donnell and DeLongis had one helper each. Kaitlyn Phifer and Julia Keffer both contributed one goal and one assist, and adding one goal each were Kaitlyn Varilla, Kristen Varilla, Heather Shannon and Victoria Brauenle.
“It was nice to get everyone playing time,” said coach Heather Mellow, whose team led 11-0 at halftime. “We have some big games to finish the season off with, so we can’t relax too much, but it was nice to have a breather this deep into the season.
“We need to come out hungry starting Saturday against Methacton.”
North Penn (9-6, 5-4 SOL) will travel to Methacton on Saturday for a non-league contest, and Neshaminy (1-9, 1-6) will host Cheltenham in a non-league game Friday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 16, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3
Kasey Dietzel scored five goals and also had four draw controls to lead a balanced Titan attack. Courtney Taylor (three goals, two assists, two draw controls) and Courtney Dietzel (two goals, three assists, five draw controls) also came up big for the Titans. Kristen Berntsen and Tori Wigand each added a pair of goals while Hayley Montana and Molly Sullivan both had one goal.
South goalie Erin Putnam was credited with 13 saves in the win.
Central Bucks South (12-1, 8-0 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Saturday at 2 p.m., and Council Rock South (2-13, 1-8) will host Wisssahickon on Friday.
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 13, JENKINTOWN 2
The visiting Patriots opened up a 5-1 lead at halftime and added to that in the second half on their way to the decisive non-league win.
Riley Donnelly led the Patriots with three goals and two assists. Whitney Dietz and Mel Burian each added two goals and one assist while Katelyn Stout and Cailey Lever both had a pair of goals. Kaitlyn Mikalic had one goal and one assist, and Katelin Cahill had a single goal to close out the scoring.
Goalie Lauren Maurer faced five shots and recorded three saves.
Central Bucks East (8-7, 4-5 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Monday.
