CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 10, PENNRIDGE 8
The Rams and visiting Titans battled to a 5-5 halftime tie. The Titans held a 5-3 advantage in the second half to earn the hard fought win.
“Tonight was an entire team effort,” South coach Janique Craig said. “Our defense was incredible and played their best game of the season. It was led by Katelyn Wendling, Sofia Sonnett, Megan Weeks, Olivia Himmelstein, Erin Mayeros, and Ally Cutter.
“We played down a player for four minutes of the first half and 12 minutes of the second half. The defensive unit came up with the loose balls, forced bad passes, and they crashed hard to goal. It was truly a hard fought game and a well-deserved win. Our attack played as a unit as well and was extremely patient – finding the open player and taking the ‘right’ shots.”
Anna Green led the Titans with three goals, one assist and eight draw controls. Janessa Watson also had three goals. Tegan Mullan added two goals and one assist. Francine Richick had one goal and dished out four assists. Kate Victor added a single goal.

“Tonight’s game was for our seniors who have dedicated themselves to this program for the last four years,” Pennridge coach Karen Schnurr said. “There have been many injuries and hurdles in the last four years, but these long ladies have shown pure passion and love for this sport. Tonight’s scoreboard did not reflect the passion in play. I am proud of all of them.”

ABINGTON 11, WISSAHICKON 10
The Ghosts put the finishing touches on a perfect conference season, winning a thriller against the conference champions.
“It feels great to win the league undefeated,” Abington coach Mary Elizabeth Klepper said. “The team deserves it and has worked so hard all season for this moment. We have played as a TEAM, with everyone contributing. Our motto is relentless, and that’s exactly how the girls play.”
The Ghosts – the third seed in the District 1 3A rankings – opened up a 6-3 halftime lead and went on top 10-4 before the Lady Trojans came storming back.
With 3:23 to play, Wissahickon went on a tear, scoring six consecutive goals to tie the game at 10 with 54 seconds remaining in regulation. The Ghosts would not be denied, connecting on goal with 21 seconds remaining to earn the win.
“Wissahickon beat us on the draw and was able to come up with it in the last couple of minutes when they were making a comeback,” Klepper said. “Ellie Hughes came up with huge saves and kept us in this game and secured the win. I am not sure if knowing we already won our league impacted how we played. We learn from the game and get ready for Radnor first, and then playoffs. I try to preach staying in the moment and staying present, especially since heading into the playoffs, we need to take care of one game at a time.”
Abby Thomas led the Ghosts with four goals while Maddie Hinkle added three goals and one assist. Kaley Ehnow had two goals and one assist while Grace Hinkle and Shea Gormley each had one goal. Jamira Mashore had a pair of assists while Abby Johnson and Kelly McCallister both had one assist.
Ellie Hughes was credited with 14 saves in a winning effort in goal.
For the Trojans, Abby Degroat and Emma Baker were on fire on the circle, according to coach Rob Intrieri. Abby had eight draw controls and Emma had six draw controls. Sam Intrieri led the offense with five goals.
“The Trojans playing hard until the end and won the last draw and stormed down the field,” coach Intrieri said. “(We) had an eight-meter shot that went wide and another eight-meter shot that was stopped with less than one second remaining in the game.
For Wissahickon, Sam Intrieri hit a milestone scoring her 200th goal of her career and finished the night at 203 career goals. When asked how it felt to reach 200, Sam said "It was very exciting to reach 200 goals and share the excitement with my teammates. It would have been nice to get the win, but our team just never quits. This is the most wins we've had in our high school careers and we still have more to go. My dad, Wissahickon head coach Rob Intrieri, won't ever let us give up.
“He was encouraging us throughout the game and told us to keep playing hard until the end. Our team is having a lot of fun this year and we don't want it to end. No matter what happens we all believe in each other and everyone plays their role well. We have one more home game and are excited for the playoffs.”
Abington (15-2, 9-0 SOL) will host Radnor in a non-league game Friday, and Wissahickon (12-5, 6-3) will host Chichester Friday in a non-league game.

“We knew this was going to be a battle being the rivalry between Hatboro-Horsham and UM, and Hatboro-Horsham has really been playing well in the last couple weeks,” UM coach Kim Frantz said. “Hatboro-Horsham proved nothing less than what we were expecting – they came ready to play.
“We have been struggling the last week to mesh together as a unit. We are missing one of our starters and are having trouble coming together to play the way we did in April. We are looking forward to a new start in playoffs as we like to call that our second season with a fresh start.”

“Emma is a very focused player in practice and games, and her intensity can help ignite the others on the field. She is great at creating opportunities for her teammates and herself to go to goal. She is very deserving of this milestone.”
