SOL Patriot Division
NESHAMINY 4, PENNSBURY 3 (2 OT)
The ending was as dramatic as the comeback when an opportunistic Chloe Mougeotte pounced on the rebound of a Falcon goalie save of a PK to score a goal that won it in the second OT.
The sophomore midfielder’s game-winner capped a remarkable comeback by the Redskins, who trailed 3-0 at halftime, rallied to even the score and then won it in the second OT.
“ I was really proud of the grit and the determination they showed today,” Neshaminy coach Josh Van Reed said. “They never gave up.”
The win gave Neshaminy a sweep of the two-game regular season series between the neighboring rivals. The Redskins won the first meeting 3-1.
Sparking the Falcons’ three-goal first half were sophomore Ashley Haubein and freshman Jill Patrick, who combined for a pair of goals. Jules Hammer (Abbie Ellis assist) scored the third.
For the Redskins, Bri Garyah scored a pair – the first with a Mia Stock assist and the second assisted by Emmy Rooney. Lily Kaczmarek also added a goal.

Neshaminy coach Josh Van Reed:
–On the game: “Second round play through league is always tough. Having to play your rival school makes it tougher. Pennsbury showed from the beginning that they really wanted a win today. Their effort from the whistle was evident.”
–First half: “The first half they were just working harder than us. We had some chances where we hit the
cross bar and missed a couple close, but they kept coming back down field. Their first two goals were almost identical balls scored off crosses. Then they got another right before half. Down 3-0 going into half is a tough deficit to overcome. We talked at half, the players themselves spoke up about what they needed to do, and they left the huddle I think focused.”
–The second half: “The second half we had much more possession and began to create more and more chances. First goal came off a cross from Mia Stock running down the left side and finding Bri Garyah in front. It was good, and we kept applying pressure and creating chances. The second goal was a bit of luck which you need sometimes, Lily Kaczmarek served in a hard low free kick that deflected off a defender and into the net. The third goal a few minutes later Anna (Axenroth) hit a ball through to Emmy down the left side, and she linked up with Bri again for her second goal of the day. We almost scored a fourth in regulation but had the goal called back with two minutes remaining.”
–Overtimes: “The first overtime was a bit back and forth both teams having some opportunities. The second overtime seemed to be winding down and with just over two minutes left Leah Kaczmarek was fouled in the box resulting in a PK. Cassidy (Tweedie) stepped up to take it, and she hit it pretty hard and the keeper made a good save but Chloe Mougeotte was coming right in and hit the ball in the corner off the post for the game winner.”
Pennsbury coach Jenna Peters:
–On the game: “We came out strong in the first half, encouraging the team to play the way they’ve been playing over the past few games – simple, smart soccer with great teamwork. The defense looked solid and composed, while offensively, we did a great job of possessing the ball and creating quality opportunities.”
–The goals: “Our first breakthrough came when freshman Jill Patrick made a great run down the wing and delivered a perfect cross that sophomore Ashley Haubein was able to finish with confidence. Just a few minutes later, the same combination struck again, Jill to Ashley, for our second goal. To make it 3-0, Abbie Ellis delivered a fantastic cross that Jules Hammer was able to finish clinically.
–The second half & OT: “At halftime, we reminded the team not to get complacent and to continue playing to feet and working together, especially knowing that Neshaminy would come out with intensity, and they did. The second half and overtime were hard-fought on both sides, with chances for each team.
“In the final minutes of double overtime, a penalty kick was called. Our goalkeeper made an incredible save, but unfortunately a Neshaminy player was there to capitalize on the rebound.
“Despite the result, we’re incredibly proud of the way the girls fought, especially their composure and energy in the first half and their resilience through overtime. It didn’t go our way today, but the effort and heart were there from start to finish.”
Up Next: Neshaminy will host Council Rock North on Tuesday (7pm), and Pennsbury will host Bensalem on Tuesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1
(CB South scoring info will be added when received)
The Titans scored a goal in each half while the visiting Colonials managed just one – and that came in the second half – in a tightly contested SOL crossover.
South’s win came less than 24 hours after their emotionally charged double overtime win over archival Central Bucks East.
“We were exhausted from Tuesday night, but some players stepped up who rested Tuesday,” South coach Dana Cole said.
Riley Karpinski scored South’s first goal in the first half. Abby Bass had the assist. Kelly Donnelly found the net in the second half, using a Karpinski assist.
With 22 minutes remaining in regulation, Lori Flannery scored with a Maddi Lazaroff assist for PW’s lone score.
“Extremely proud of the effort AND performance today against a very talented CB South team,” PW coach TJ DeLucia said. “We were right there with them for the full 80. We had chances to score. I thought we matched up really well with them in midfield. It was a great game.
“I think our team left the field knowing that we can play with anyone in this District.”
Up next: Central Bucks South will travel to North Penn on Tuesday (7pm), and Plymouth Whitemarsh will travel to Bensalem Friday for a non-league SOL crossover contest.
