UPPER DUBLIN 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 2
The Flying Cardinals celebrated their six seniors with a win emblematic of their season.
A rough start saw the Cardinals behind the pace not even three minutes in when Sarah Miller put the visiting Hatters up on a quick goal. Then, Upper Dublin got itself together, figured things out and got on a roll.
Sizzy Lawton tied the game with 18 minutes left in the first half, then scored the eventual game-winner with 5:30 left before halftime. Stuck in between those goals was a great volley by Tina Haig with seven minutes to go before the break.
"Once we settled into the game, I was real proud of the girls," Cardinals coach John Topper said. "We didn't wait until halftime to make adjustments and the girls showed their senior leadership out there. They took control of the game out there on the field, started finding feet and the places we could create chances."
Senior Lexi Schneider was a leader in the middle of the field, slowing the ball, keeping possession and pressing up to get the ball out to the team's young playmakers. Senior Paige Lawtown, who assisted her younger sister's first goal, played up top and in the back for the Cards.
Hatters keeper Miranda Royds did all she could to keep her team in the match, making eight saves. With the seniors leading the charge, Upper Dublin started making chances and eventually putting them away.
"One of the things that frustrated us early in the season was we would have possession and nothing to show for it," Topper said. "In the second half of the first half, we capitalized on the possession."
Ali Hontz put a second half spark into the Hatters with a goal with 20:54 left. The striker ran down a long ball then kept running, beating a defender before putting the ball in the net.
Hontz had another late chance with about five and a half minutes left, but her shot went wide as the Hatters absorbed the loss and their playoff hopes took a major blow.
"We have to wait for the official word. We'll train and we'll play like we still have life in us until we're told otherwise," Hatters coach Ike Onyeador said.

PLYMOUTH-WHITEMARSH 3, CHELTENHAM 2
The Colonials got a pair of goals from Alyse Caffrey as they started their final week of the season looking to close strong.
Caffrey, just a sophomore, is up to 15 goals in 16 games played and her second of the night proved huge, coming with 1:30 left in the game to win it.
"She has matured a lot over the season," P-W coach Ryan Zehren said. "She has found her composure and seems a lot more relaxed when she finds herself in front of goal."
Ali Diamond gave the Colonials their first goal and Zehren said it was one of her best games of the season. He also noted the play of freshman Anni Shula, another young player continuing to impress late in the season.
"Almost all of our games have been close, but we have come up short on some," Zehren said. "The season has been filled with ups and downs, so hopefully we can finish out our last two games on an up."
The Colonials are a young team in general, so a strong finish could set them up well for next season.
"We have a number of juniors including Emily Rosenberger and Victoria Betterly at defense and Ali Diamond, Lauren Fortescue and Sarah Putsch on the offensive side of the field," Zehren said. "Anni Shula is a solid freshman but the continued improvement of her partner in crime, (freshman) Catie Branscome can't be overlooked."
Zehren also credited Cheltenham keeper Eliana Weiler for a strong game in net.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (8-8, 7-6 SOL) will host Quakertown on Wednesday, and Cheltenham (0-14, 0-13) will host Abington in a non-league game Wednesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1, NORTH PENN 0
The Titans, weary after playing Neshaminy into overtime on Monday, gutted out a win over the Knights.
After a scoreless first half, the Titans finally broke through in the 55th minute. Prior to that, containing North Penn and matching the Knights' energy kept South in the game.
"The girls were very determined and resolute, they didn't want to lose another game after the tough loss the night before," South coach Betsy Bullock said. "They were also playing for seeding in the postseason.
"North Penn is a very good team with some dangerous players up top. We knew if we contained them and were patient, we could get opportunities."
Patience did pay off eventually.
"Courtney Taylor pushed up from defense and passed it to Corinne McDonald, who placed a perfect ball into the corner of the net," Bullock said.
Bullock said North Penn came back hard and aggressive after the goal, but the defensive core of Taylor, Margot Centofanti, Nicole Wills and Mackenzie Edwards held firm with keeper Taylor Marinelli making eight saves behind them.
Marinelli, making another start to rest usual starter Sophia Boggs, provided some key moments for her teammates.
"Taylor made a sliding save in front of their dangerous forward Anna Pedicone early in the match to set the tone," Bullock said. "She had three other critical saves in the second half when they were starting to press. Two of them included going to ground to collect the ball in front of an oncoming player. Taylor really played her position beautifully tonight.”
North Penn coach Jim Dehner lauded the strong play of Emma Dickson, Grace Sacchetti, Amelia Eshraghi, Riley Houlihan, Anna Pedicone, Liv Jerome, Cat Myers, Casey Cavanaugh, Ava Lehrman, Sophia Broadhurst and Ashley Schmidt.
Central Bucks South (14-3, 9-2 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Thursday night, and North Penn (7-10, 4-7) will be on the road at Pennridge on Thursday.

The Indians outlasted the Bucks in a high-scoring contest Tuesday.
Allie Trick and Tori Dowd connected twice on goals, Trick scoring both, for Souderton, the first coming with 27 minutes left in the first half. Dowd's second cross to Trick came with 33:50 left in the second half, and the sophomore finished it with a beautiful head ball goal.
"Tori Dowd and Allie Trick, both playing wing, connected well tonight," Souderton coach Chris Felber said. "The first goal was at the front post and side-footed in and the second at the back post, headed in. Great effort from both players."
Bre DiRenzi had an active game as well, supplying the ball that led to Trick's second goal, then scoring one herself on a well-taken bending shot from the outside of her foot. Tayor Moritz provided the winner after working a give-and-go with Ellie Andrade with 23 minutes left.
Mary Kate Vinkler was the workhorse for CB West, scoring off an Olivia Kirchner assist, then scoring on a penalty kick. The senior wrapped up her night with an assist to Allison Logue.

PENNSBURY 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
Facing a CR North team hoping to hold onto a postseason spot, the Falcons held firm Tuesday afternoon.
A 22nd minute goal by Christine Cataldo-Smith from Dani Cady gave goalkeeper Kerry Phillips and the defense all the margin they would need to preserve the win. A couple of second half insurance tallies by Whitney Roth and Meredith Weber put the game away.
"Dani and Christine carried the momentum from Friday's game to the first half today," Pennsbury coach Kaitlyn Battiste said. "While each team was feeling the other out, the two of them played aggressively and were looking to go to goal from the start. It was not a surprise that they connected on the first goal of the game because they came out ready to play."
Buoyed by the goal, the Falcons locked down a potent North attack.
"On the defensive side, Rachel Beri had another stellar game," Battiste said. "She just pressured every ball today and kept our defense organized. Even with a multiple-goal lead, she kept fighting for that shutout and didn't give North any space to attack."
Despite holding a thin one-goal lead against a quality opponent, the Falcons kept their cool through the second half. It was a matter of time and when Weber found Roth in the 65th minute, it provided some extra space before Weber's 72nd minute score.
"There wasn't any panic and the way we started the second half was confident but controlled," Battiste said. "Whitney had a couple of shots at close range that (North goalkeeper) Carly Riggs came up with some saves on. I was glad to see Whitney continue to shoot and her goal was beautiful; about 30 yards out and with Riggs having to deal with the sun, it sailed in over her fingers."
Pennsbury (13-1, 10-1 SOL) will host Harry S Truman in its SOL finale on Thursday, and Council Rock North (10-6, 6-6) will host Mount St. Joseph Academy in a non-league contest Thursday.
