SOL Colonial
Central Bucks East 1, Pennridge 0
Last year, the Patriots were the only team to take points off the Rams through a 1-1 draw against the eventual SOL, District 1 and PIAA champions.
This year, they’ve already claimed more though the margin for doing so has been razor thin. East claimed its second one-goal win over Pennridge – marking the defending champions’ only two losses this fall – and moved a full two games clear in the SOL Colonial table.
Pennridge has won or shared the division every year dating back to 2016 and while nothing is decided with three games left, East has put itself in a good position heading into the final slate of fixtures.
Tuesday, it was a second half goal by senior Madelyn Hill set up by a terrific run from sophomore Mia Forney that provided the offense and a team effort defensively to turn away a game Pennridge side in a well-played match for both sides. Keepers Mae Leedy and Aralynn Patterson both made some big saves to split the shutout in goal for CB East.
Scoring Summary
2nd Half
CBE – Madelyn Hilll (Mia Forney) 12:09
East coach Jake Nesteruk on the win: “This is a game – and almost every competitive environment is like this = that could go either way. There’s a universe where Pennridge walks out of this 1-0, no doubt about it. As a backline, we made the adjustments we needed to make against those kids, both keepers played exceptionally well and did the things they do right, and ultimately, you had a midfield in front of that back line that cared about protecting their back four.
“This was such a momentum-swing game. We had a really good first half, I thought their second half was better than ours, and we needed to dig in for a few moments to see some things through.”
–Hill and Forney’s connection: “Mads is such a hard-working kid, so humble and really thoughtful with the ball. Going through a high school environment, you have moments you feel great and moments you feel not so great, but she’s continued to show up in big games and is just a total program player. I couldn’t be happier for her to go and win this one for us.
“You’ve got a kid like Mia who sets that up, she’s got handfuls of goals to her name, but she’s still looking to set someone else up. Kids like that are hard to find and even with all that ability, she’s a kid who puts the team first.”
CB East midfielder Ava Mignon on the effort: “We just stayed connected the whole time. We found each other, we played as a team, and it really showed tonight. Going against the state champs and playing like that, we were together tonight, and we showed up.”
–The Patriots’ growth through the season: “I think going back to the beginning of September, we were a little bit disconnected and not really playing as a team. Now, we’re more connected, playing together and communicating. We move off the ball for each other and we’re there for each other as opposed to the beginning of the year when we all tried to play more of our own game.”
–Looking to finish strong: “We have to keep playing to the standard we’ve been playin. No game is easy, but if we keep playing the way we’ve been playing, I think we’re going to find the right way.”
Up next: CB East (14-1, 7-0 SOL) hosts Souderton at 7pm on Thursday. Pennridge (13-2, 5-2) hosts North Penn at 3:30pm on Thursday.

A back-and-forth game saw the visiting Knights and hosting Titans give all they could before each settling on a point.
Riley Karpinski netted a brace for the home side, but Lily McGee helped counter her efforts with an assist and a goal for the visitors. McGee set up Maddy Murphy’s opening goal, then scored in the final minute to send the fixture into extra time.
Scoring Summary
1st Half

2nd Half
CBS – Riley Karpinski
CBS – Riley Karpinski (Tessa Hughes)
NP – Lily McGee (Madi Morrow)
North Penn coach Mike Rio on the draw: “Really proud of the girls tonight. Fighting back after going down showed a lot of character against a really good South team. It feels like the team is finally putting everything together and playing with a lot more consistency across the field. We are having some other girls step up and really help us on the field as well. Overall it was a really solid team effort and South has been really strong all season, so getting a result against them should give us some good confidence as we continue to push towards a postseason position.”
–Standouts: “I thought Madi Morrow had a really strong game for us, and Lily has been someone that has stepped into a goal scoring role for us to support the work that Maddy Murphy gives us. Maddie Gorman also played really strong in the midfield, she was physical and constantly making it difficult for South. Our defensive line of Izzy Rudnick, Jadyn Sperling, Alyssa Chartrand, Allison Schall and Avery Krepps did a great job keeping up with a fast-paced South attack and limiting their chances. Rachel Murphy also made two fantastic saves in goal in the first and second half to keep us in the game.”
CB South coach Pat Lordi on the match: “It was a great Senior Night celebration that allowed us to start all of our seniors. It was a hard-fought division game. It’s so hard to win in this league. Our girls fought hard and competed all night. If we find a way to finish our chances, we will make it a little easier on ourselves.”

Central Bucks West 1, Souderton 0
As a CB West alum and a former goalkeeper, Bucks coach Bree Benedict has a special appreciation for a committed, rugged defensive effort.
Her team has defended well for much of the season, even as some key injuries hit the unit and forced new players to step in and fill the void. Tuesday night, coming off a week-plus without games but filled with plenty of training, the West defense got a chance to put its stamp on a road win.
A goal by Rian Detweiler in the second half was the game-winner.
Scoring Summary
2nd Half
CBW – Rian Detweiler
West coach Bree Benedict on the win: “We’ve been talking as a group about our history and tradition of defending. Our back line was vintage CB West soccer tonight. Anchored by Janelle Blokker, the combination of Mia Menard, Reegan Moran, Kaia Ward, and Kira Winn were solid tonight. Fallon Darrows put in another strong performance in goal and deserved the clean sheet. She had two stellar diving saves to keep it 0-0.”
–Finding offense: “We certainly created enough opportunities going forward and at times connected quickly and created chances, just came up short finishing and Souderton defended well all night. Rian Detweiler found herself in a good spot top of the box, the ball came across and got touches from Eva Wierzbowski and Anna McGrath before it found Rian. Rian took a clean touch and buried the goal.”
–Props: “Late in the game we got a lot of tough defensive effort from Eva Wierzbowski who really helped set the tone on tough defending. Lauren Overbeck put in a great shift in midfield and is really competing and winning 50/50 challenges for us.”
Up next: Souderton (7-8, 1-6 SOL) visits CB East at 7pm on Thursday. CB West (11-5, 4-3) hosts CB South at 7pm on Thursday.

Neshaminy 3, Council Rock South 0
Kylie Maxwell is putting together quite a season offensively, the Wake Forest-bound senior kept it going on Tuesday with a first-half hat trick.
Neshaminy hosted its annual Pink-Out game, the visitors from CR South joining in a pregame ceremony with the Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation to honor families from the community that have been affected by the fight against cancer. The hosts also wore special pink uniform tops for the night.
With the win, Neshaminy maintained its narrow lead in the Patriot standings ahead of a trip to second-place CR North on Thursday.
Scoring Summary
1st half
N – Kylie Maxwell (PK) 19:13
N – Kylie Maxwell 15:33
N – Kylie Maxwell 5:54
Neshaminy coach Josh Van Reed on the win: “When the game got started, I felt like it picked up where we left off at our previous game: a tight physical game that could have gone either way early on. Each team had chances on both ends.”
First goal: “To get us on the board, it was Allie Ortman who collected a ball from a cross and drove into the box behind the defense but was taken down for a PK. Kylie stepped up and put the ball in the upper 90 to put us up 1-0. But CR South came back shortly after and hit the crossbar from a free kick that almost tied the game.”
Maxwell’s second and third: “Keira Siwinski forced the Rock defender to play back to her keeper with a pass that Kylie anticipated, picked off and scored for her second goal. The third goal right before half came off a pass from our right back Natalie Weidle. She picked her head up and switched the ball back across to Kylie, who collected, turned and scored.”
Defensive props: “I have to give a lot of credit to our defense tonight, we rotated different people back there and they all did a great job with stopping Council Rock South’s advances in the second half. Our keeper Alexis Barnes had a big night coming up with a couple of real nice saves. She certainly earned the shutout today. This was a good win for us against a good team. It was a hard-fought game, the type you will see in the playoffs.”
Up next: Neshaminy (13-2, 7-0 SOL) travels to Council Rock North at 3:30 on Thursday. CR South (7-6-1, 4-3-0) hosts Archbishop Wood at 7pm on Wednesday.
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 0 – 0
NESHAMINY 3 0 – 3
Council Rock North 3, Bensalem 0
CR North picked up after a 10-day layoff, the Indians needing a little time to get going before finding their goal-scoring touch again.
Isabel Diaz and Sara Tyler took advantage of first half chances while Sarina Igval added insurance after the break.
The win keeps CR North a game behind division leader Neshaminy ahead of Thursday’s meeting at CR North.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
CRN – Isabel Diaz (Mia Cairone)
CRN – Sara Tyler
2nd Half
CRN – Sarina Igval
CR North coach Gavin Flannigan on the win: “Pleased to get a win after a long break, you never know how the team will react after that time off, but we felt like the girls played well, especially in the second half. They did a nice job of making adjustments from halftime and really using the spaces on the field that we talked about. Bensalem has played a couple of games in the last few days, and I think our energy and freshness were a factor as the game went on, but they did a nice job at times creating some chances with their ball movement and we had to rely on some good goalkeeping from Reese Ludwig and Ellie Beldowicz for the shutout.”
First half: “We started reasonably well and created some good openings, our first goal came when we created a turnover high up the field and we were able to release Mia Cairone towards the corner, she was able to cut it back across goal for Isabel Diaz to finish. After that I thought we controlled a lot of the game, but Bensalem still had some dangerous counterattacks and then just before half time a loose ball fell to Sara Tyler, she was able to connect on it quickly from 25 yards out for great hit.”
Second half: “It was similar, we did score early through a nice run and finish from Sarina Igval, but credit to Bensalem, they kept playing and trying to create and our back line had to continue to work for the win.”
Up next: CR North (12-3, 6-1 SOL) hosts Neshaminy at 3:30 on Thursday. Bensalem (3-10, 1-6) hosts Pennsbury at 4pm on Thursday.

Five different Falcons recorded goals for Pennsbury.
Junior Ashlyn McEwing opened the scoring with a free kick hit from about 35 yards out. Sophomore Ria Pvzner and freshman Sydney Becker combined on the next two goals, Pvzner dribbling through the defense and setting up Becker before switching roles on the next tally.
Sofia Gorski wrapped up the first half scoring, then freshman Willa Corbitt assisted sophomore Kailee Gola after halftime.

The Hatters’ Senior Night ended on a good note thanks to a sterling effort from a junior.

HH – Ryleigh White (Molly Donaldson)
HH coach Chris Artman on the win: “It was senior night and we celebrated our seniors, Molly Donaldson, Riley McGuire, Jordyn Harris and Mya Stevens. Great pre-game ceremony honoring the girls and their families. Very proud of the girls’ play tonight. We had been struggling a bit the last couple games, so this was a big win for them on a very special night. Happy to get the W for the seniors.”
First half: “We took the energy from the pregame ceremony right into the first half. We were connecting passes and getting runs in behind their defense. We had multiple chances on goal but could not put it past their keeper. Quakertown center back Anna Greenday is a terrific player with good speed and is very tough to beat 1v1. Our midfielders were winning balls and were more physical than Quakertown. Defensively, our back four had another solid game. Quakertown has a lot of speed up top and are tough to handle but our backs did a great job.”
Falling behind: “In the second half, we expected Quakertown to come out strong and try to control the game. They were starting to create chances on goal and were putting us under pressure. They went up 1-0 on a great one-time finish off a service into the area. Their second goal came of a corner in which we got caught napping defensively.”
Comeback in second half: “Down 2-0 with 10 minutes left, we got a free kick about 20 yards out, and junior Ryleigh White hammered it into the upper corner for her seventh goal of the season. Five minutes later, she struck another free kick from about 25 yards out over the keeper for her eighth of the year to tie the game 2-2.”
Game winner: “Five minutes into the first overtime, senior keeper Molly Donaldson made a save and punted the ball down the left side. Ryleigh White took it out of the air and beat the defender down the left side and slid the ball past the keeper to the far post for the game winner.”
Props: “Senior keepers Riley McGuire and Molly Donaldson both made a few great saves to keep us in the game.”

With a 10-day gap between games, UD coach John Topper was understandably apprehensive how his team would come out in a key division game on the road.
No doubt, the Cardinals needed the break, and it gave them a boost when senior Anna DiMartile was able to come off an injury and work her way back in at training. At the same time, their last time out had ended in a loss and another would make their lead in the Liberty table much less secure.
Erin Seabrook made sure there would be no letdown, the senior midfielder bound for St. Joe’s seizing the day with two goals to put UD back on the right track.
Scoring Summary
1st Half
UD – Erin Seabrook (Abby O’Meara)
2nd Half
A – Giana Jones (Vivian Siravo, Olivia Capps)
UD – Erin Seabrook
UD coach John Topper on the win: “It was a little bit of wondering is it going to be good rest or rust. It came at a good time, we had a couple girls that were banged up or putting a lot of miles on their legs. Coming off the loss at Wiss, we didn’t have as much breathing room as we would have liked coming into this game because Abington is a tough team and playing at their stadium, it’s never one we can count on coming out of their with points.”
First half: “We had a lot of pressure on them, Erin Seabrook got the goal off a nice ball from Abby O’Meara to open up the scoring and we had a two or three other nice chances I think we could have converted on before the game settled down a little bit.”
Seabrook’s winner: “It was really impressive, Erin kind of called her own shot. She saw something in their back line and asked me if she could have a little more freedom to get forward. I said yes and her next touch, it was driving toward the goal and scoring. It was a big player kind of moment.
“We knew we weren’t going to be able to spread it out and knock it around the way we wanted to, so we needed someone to step up and take the game by themselves.”
Salute to the defense: “Jordyn Levine in goal was really solid. There were a couple times the ball was dumped into the box, and it was really anyone’s guess who was going to come up with it, and she has very sure hands and came out of the pile.
“Brooke Ellner and Olivia Broome at center back were both excellent, they both had some timely tackles and Brooke made a few clearances off the line, several in one play, that certainly could have tipped the game in another direction if one of those goes in.”

We defended some crosses late to hold on. Lainey had a goal and an assist. All four seniors – Olivia Lore, Ellie Stein, Sophia Yeh and Emma Greenberg – performed outstanding on their night. LM – Nikki Sahl (Quinn Rozanski)
LM coach Todd Hill on the win: “Gabby Fogarty and Keira Huber played really smart soccer on the defensive line. Both girls have a really good sense of where to be in order to support one another defensively and stop the attack. And then they are also really effective at starting the counterattack. And Payge Lennon and Kenna Rozanski dominated the middle of the field with physical play, while moving the ball really well across the field. They did a really good job opening up the field and keeping Springfield from being able to press us into one space.”
Offensive props: “Nikki Sahl and Ruby Levin played a great game on the offensive line. They both made Springfield’s defense work really hard by continually pressing them, but they also provided a lot of opportunities for others with some really creative play with the other attackers.”

UM coach Lisa Benvenuto on the win: “We had a quick turnaround from yesterday’s match versus Upper Merion. We knew that today’s match would be just as tough as yesterday’s and that every game counts. We were able to get a really good mix of girls on the field which helped in saving our legs. As girls entered the match, the level of played stayed consistent which allowed us to continue to high pressure New Hope and were able to keep the ball in our offensive half. New Hope packed in their defense making it difficult to get through.”
Brophy’s brace: “In the 22nd minute we were awarded a corner, and Lizzie Walker found Maggie Brophy at the far post. Two minutes later, Madeline Cox played a ball back to Maggie Brophy who put the ball in the upper ninety. It was a really well-played shot. Brophy has really come into her game, holding the middle of our field and becoming more of an offensive threat.”
Second half goal: “In the 45th minute, Lizzie Walker was able to take another corner for us and just place it perfectly in the net. Lizzie’s ability to execute a set piece is one of our biggest advantages. She is so precise and consistent.”
Props: “Today was a great team effort, with strong contributions from Gracie Costello, Annalise Messina, Maggie Brophy, Lizzie Walker, and Madeline Cox.”
