SOUDERTON 2, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1
Sienna Stunkard’s unassisted goal off a corner midway through the first half sent the visiting Indians into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The Hatters – 24 hours removed from a big win over Abington – rallied to even the score on a goal by Lily Harvey.
Hailey Cusano connected on a goal that stood as the game-winner in the 54th minute, giving the Indians their third win in four games.
“Hailey Cusano (was) in the right place at the right time with a tap-in game winner,” Souderton coach Melissa Lollar said.

Souderton coach Melissa Lollar on bouncing back from loss to Pennridge: “The key was that our girls used our mistakes from our loss and not only wanted to but were excited to work together to fix the gaps as a team even with tired legs from the week.
“It was important for us to win and bounce back because we are learning that we have to play game by game and can’t dwell on the negatives and have to quickly move on to the next game with full focus. Our girls are able to pull through with wins even if they aren’t pretty where we have hit mental blocks in the past because we were frustrated and couldn’t stay composed, so we are really excited to pull the win out.”
–Props: “A solid defensive effort led by center back Kylie Cummings and keeper Kahlan Hurley who had multiple saves, including a breakaway save in the second half.”
Hatboro-Horsham coach Chris Artman; “After two really tough games this week, we just did not have enough left in the tank. I give the girls a lot of credit for their effort as they never quit. While we did not get the result we wanted today, the girls earned the long weekend off. We have two big league games next week, and both games will be tough.
“Souderton got on the board first off a corner. They took the 1-0 lead into the half. In the second half, sophomore, Courtney Rinius played a nice ball in behind their backs right on the foot of senior Lily Harvey, who beat their keeper low to the far post to draw us even for her second of the season.
“Midway through the second half Souderton responded on a service into the area which was finished by Hailey Cusano. We had a little mix up in the back letting her get free.
“We will enjoy the time off and then get back after it next week.”

PENNSBURY 2, CONWELL-EGAN 1
Sophomore Abbie Ellis scored a pair of second-half goals to lead the Falcons to the non-league win. The sophomore’s heroics erased the frustration of a first half that saw the Falcons pound CEC with 21 shots but had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard and trailed the Eagles 1-0 at halftime.
All told, the Falcons – who played their fifth game in eight days – peppered CEC with 36 shots.
“This was a strong team win,” Pennsbury coach Jenna Peters said. “The girls fought the entire game and earned every bit of it.”

Pennsbury coach Jenna Peters:
–On the game: “The girls came out ready to go, knowing this would be a physical battle with three games this week and only one practice in between. From the start, they played strong, keeping possession and creating plenty of opportunities. Even after going down 1-0, they stayed composed, continued to move the ball well, and worked together to stay in control of the game.
“At halftime, I told the girls they had 21 shots on net in the first half. That showed how well they were connecting, supporting each other, and getting into dangerous areas, we just needed to finish one, and more would follow.
“In the second half, we stayed on the front foot. Off a free kick, Izzy DiMatia played short to Clare Caldaro, who carried it up and played a great ball down the sideline to Abbie Ellis. Abbie took on her defender and scored. Just a few minutes later, she did it again, same run, same finish.”
Up next: Pennsbury (4-1, 1-0 SOL) will be on the road at Bensalem on Wednesday.

–On the game: “Really proud of the way our girls bounced back today following a tough loss to William Tennent yesterday. We controlled possession throughout the match, stayed organized on the field, and capitalized on our chances.
“Leah King got us started, finishing off a ball from defender Jayda Rivera. Not long after, Madeline Cox created her own opportunity and found the back of the net. Coming out of halftime, Hailey Kramer netted her first varsity goal on a breakaway, showing great composure to beat CCA’s keeper. Keiley Hawk followed with another breakaway, finishing cleanly at the far post. Our final goal came from King again, serving as the bookends to our offense—opening the scoring and closing it out.”
–Props: “With our attack clicking, we were able to rotate players on and off the pitch seamlessly, keeping fresh legs after yesterday’s match. Strong performances came from the entire team, with standout efforts from Emma and Hailey Kramer, Aubrey Scarpitti, and Kayla Scrum.”

LOWER MERION 2, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
The visiting Bucks found themselves on the short end of a 2-0 halftime score but battled back, and on a late push put a goal on the scoreboard.
The goal was set up by a long throw by Janelle Blokker that the Bucks were able to head on and push toward goal where it was finished by Alyssa Terry.
Central Bucks West coach Bree Benedict:
–On the game: “We showed glimpses of great moments but need to be sharper with the details. It’s early in the season, so there’s plenty of time to work and improve.”
–Props: “Janelle Blokker had a standout performance in the back, Allie Pisch was steady all game, and Andy Friel gave us good energy pushing forward. Addy Hermann put in a solid shift as well. Overall, I’m proud of the team’s effort and optimistic heading into next week.”

ST HUBERT’S 2, LOWER MORELAND 1
The Lions battled back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to even the score on a goal by Quinn Rozanski. St. Hubert’s answered with a goal to earn the 2-1 win, but LM coach Todd Hill saw a lot of things he liked in Friday’s non-league loss.
“We went toe to toe with a really athletic team and never backed down,” the Lions’ coach said. “This is maturity happening that will pay off in the months ahead.”
Lower Moreland coach Todd Hill:
–On the game: “It was a really well-fought game, but we came up short against a talented St. Huberts team.
“Our girls are working hard each day to step up into the vacated shoes of a strong graduated class from last year. However, with our first week of play having included two really strong opponents, the girls have had to grow up fast. I think today we took our next step of growth and maturity.
“We came into halftime down 1-0, and our girls committed to coming out in the second half and responding. That response came midway through the second half when Quinn Rozanski hit a beautiful free kick from 20 yards out, over the goalie’s head and into the top right corner of the goal. While St. Huberts did score a second goal, our girls dug in and created a number of really good chances throughout the half.”
–Props: “I thought that senior back Violet Levin and junior back Agnes Kroll played a solid game today, making scoring opportunities difficult for Huberts. Additionally, sophomore midfielder Sammy Pennisi continues to mature in her role in the middle of the field, growing in her ability to establish a presence in that space while maintaining composure in the intensity of that position. I am looking forward to seeing the steps of growth and maturity our girls take next week.”
Up next: Lower Moreland (1-2, 1-0 SOL) will host Springfield Twp on Wednesday.
