Truman Tigers put together a strong performance winning 8-0.
Harry S Truman coach Brian Gilbert: “Scoring your first varsity goal is always a special moment that you’ll never forget. Today we got to celebrate six of them. The girls have really come together as a team and support one another. There was a lot of selfless play with players dropping back to play defense to give others a chance to play offense and players forgoing shots to pass to teammates who were searching for that first goal. The reactions and excitement the girls showed for one another was amazing. They’ve worked hard and were way overdue for a win. Speaking with Lincoln’s coach prior to the game, he has been proud of his team’s positive attitude regardless of the score and the Lincoln girls demonstrated that today, giving a great effort and never giving up.
Up next: Truman is off until next Tuesday when the Tigers will travel to Council Rock South (7pm).
