UPPER DUBLIN 9, RIVER HILL (MD) 6
The Flying Cardinals used their spring break trip to Maryland as an opportunity to bond as a team and also play some lacrosse.
They succeeded on all counts and made the trip especially enjoyable by winning both of their games.
On Thursday, they rallied from a 6-4 halftime deficit to outscore River Hill 5-0 in the second half to earn their second win in as many days.
“We played a very good River Hill team today,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “Their goalie was very good, and it took a while for us to get shots around her.
“We were down two at halftime and were able to figure out a way to gain key possessions and keep River Hill off of the scoreboard in the second half.”
Paige Dinkel led the Cardinals balanced attack with three goals and one assist. Ava Shohen added two goals, one assist and three draw controls, and Anna DiMartile also scored two goals and led the Cards with four caused turnovers. Bridget DiMartile was the third UD player with two goals. Shannon Connaughton chipped in an assist.
UD goalie Erin Darcy was credited with four saves in a winning effort.
