Central Bucks West coach Mike Daher: “I felt coming into this season that we were going to be a strong hitting team and that showed today. We have four hitters back from last year who hit at the top of our lineup a year ago, so we were very confident that Jill Boyle, Ana Glemser, Laila Murray, and Taylor Hooven would pick up where they left off last year and they did exactly that for us today. Katherine James, Sammy Hooven, Avery Rubenstein, Charlotte Kerns and Elle Cooper also showed that they could be tough outs this year. It was also our hope that we would play solid defense and get good pitching, and when both of those things happened today it added up to a good win against a competitive Wissahickon team and a good start to our season.”
Up next: Central Bucks West (1-0) will host New Hope-Solebury in a non-league game Thursday. Wissahickon (0-2) will travel to Springfield Twp for a non-league game Wednesday.
