Senior Jalecia Blackston fanned 10 in a complete game win in the circle for the Tigers.
Leading the Tigers’ offense was senior Mara McKeon, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Junior Courtney Nau was 1-for-3 with a successful suicide squeeze. Jada Moran contributed a sacrifice fly.
“Truman did the little things right today, stealing five bases and squeezing in a run,” Truman coach Rick Palmer said. “It was low scoring with good pitching. We played good defense and moved runners.”
The Tigers, who plated a single run in the third, trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth when they scored a pair to go on top 3-2. They added an insurance run in the sixth.
Emily Murphy was charged with the loss, striking out nine in six innings.
Harry S Truman (1-0) will host Penncrest in a non-league game Monday.
