CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 9, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
Angelina Sherba tossed a three-hit shutout, fanning seven and walking three to lead the Bucks to the decisive win in Tuesday’s opener. Two of her free passes came in the final inning.
“She threw strikes,” coach Geoff Thompson said of Sherba. “She really kept the ball around the plate.”
The Dryden siblings both hit a home run to spark the Bucks offensively. Junior Emma Dryden’s two-run shot highlighted a three-run second that put the Bucks on top 4-0. Freshman Emma Dryden had a two-run home run in a three-run fifth that saw the Bucks open up a 9-0 lead.
Abby Morrison led the Bucks with three hits, including an RBI single to spot the Bucks a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Cara Hatzinger had a pair of hits.
Central Bucks West (1-0) will host Quakertown on Thursday while Council Rock South (0-1) will travel to Harry S Truman for Thursday’s league opener.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 7, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0

Hatboro-Horsham hosted Lansdale Catholic for its second game of the season. The theme of the first two games for the Hatters has been strong first innings as Hatboro-Horsham scored five runs in Tuesday’s contest.
The Hatters scored these runs from a series of bunts and a two-RBI double from Kyleigh Dinnien. The Hatters scored two more runs the rest of the game, benefitting from an RBI doubles from Brynn Griffith and Britany Hubler.
Taylor Sciubba continued her dominant start to the season recording another nine strikeouts while finishing the game with a shutout.
The Hatters were led offensively by Kyleigh Dinnien going 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, Bridget Schaeffer going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double, and Brynn Griffith going 1-for-3 with two two RBIs and a double.
Hatboro-Horsham (2-0) travels to Souderton on Thursday for its first league game of the season at a 3:45 start time.

PENNRIDGE 11, CHRISTOPHER DOCK 1 (6 innings)
The Lady Rams exploded for six runs in the bottom of the third, erasing a 1-0 deficit, and they added four more runs in the fourth. A single run in the sixth brought an early end to the game.
Grace McGinley led a potent Pennridge attack with a 3-for-3 effort that included a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kailyn Bell finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Larissa Motts was effective out of the leadoff spot with a 2-for-3 effort that included one RBI and two runs scored. Skylar Hengeveld hit a home run and had a pair of RBIs and a run scored.
Bell earned the win in the circle, allowing just two hits and no earned runs in six strong innings. She struck out nine and walked two.
Pennridge (2-0) will be on the road at Central Bucks East for Thursday’s SOL opener.

QUAKERTOWN 4, UPPER PERKIOMEN 3 (9 innings)
The Panthers are showing a flare for the dramatic as they once again rallying for a come-from-behind win. This time they needed a pair of runs in the seventh to knot the score. They won it in the ninth inning when Lauren Beal – who finished with four RBIs – delivered a walk-off RBI double.
Beal was one of three Panthers to finish the day with two hits. Tara Baglivo was 2-for-3 with two runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Meghan Klee was 2-for-4. Alyssa Wilkinson and Ryann Kemmerling both added doubles to the Panthers’ 11-hit attack.

Quakertown (2-0) will be on the road at Central Bucks West for Thursday’s league opener.

BENSALEM 14, EMMAUS 6
The Owls pounded out 19 hits in an offensive onslaught. They scored three runs in both the first and second innings and tacked on three more in the fifth to go on top 9-2 before Emmaus scored four runs to make it a 9-6 game heading into the final inning. The Owls responded with five unanswered runs in the seventh.
Senior Kelsey Dekoyer entered the game in relief in the fifth, working the final three innings and allowing just one earned run.
“She did a nice job,” coach Dan Schram said.
Dekoyer also had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Lauren Morell was 3-for-5 with a triple, home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Carley Smith was 3-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored, and Meg Nally was 3-for-5 with a triple, four RBIs and a run scored. Freshman Tori Yorgey was 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and four runs scored.
Haley Sauer earned the win, allowing four earned runs in four innings while walking one and striking out four.
Bensalem (1-0) will host Neshaminy in Thursday’s league opener.

UPPER DUBLIN 15, GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 0 (3 innings)
The Flying Cardinals pounded out nine hits and benefitted from nine free passes to earn the mercy rule win in three innings in Tuesday’s season opener.
Rebecca Matricardi earned the shutout win in the abbreviated contest, allowing two hits while walking none and fanning two.
Sarah Tannenbaum led the offense with a 2-for-2 effort at the plate that included a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Jackie McMenamin was 1-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Megan Muth was 1-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, and Erin Gallagher was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs. Ellie Kelcy was 1-for-1 with a double, RBI and two runs scored.
Gabbie Soriano, Matricardi and Sarah Dennin also added hits, and Sarah Sharp scored a pair of runs.
Upper Dublin (1-0) will be on the road at Norristown for Thursday’s SOL opener.
