HARRY S TRUMAN 8, BENSALEM 7
The Tigers fell behind early but used a four-run fourth to take a lead they would not lose on their way to the big win over their neighboring rivals.
“This was huge,” coach Mickey Klemp said. “These girls are working very hard.
“We’re very young, but we have some great senior captains.”
The Owls put two runs on the board in the third, and the floodgates were opened for both squads. The Tigers exploded for four runs in the top of the fourth. Freshman Elle Olivero celebrated her birthday by delivering a bases-clearing double.
“It really started out as a pitcher’s dual,” Klemp said. “Both pitchers were really hitting their spots and really making it difficult for the batters.”
In the bottom of the seventh, the Owls – trailing by just one – loaded the bases with one out, but Truman shortstop Chrissie Huhn came up with a game-saving defensive play.
“She made a fantastic double play to end the game,” Klemp said. “It was a line drive heading to left, and she made – not a diving stab, but we were playing in because we only had one out with the bases loaded, and she made a quick reaction grab, and with her awareness as a freshman, she tug third base to end the game.
“She’s super intelligent and a great ballplayer I’ve had the luxury of coaching for the third year because I coached her two years in middle school.”
Huhn led the Tigers with three hits – including a triple – out of the leadoff spot. She scored three runs. Another freshman, first baseman Kaileah Heston, was 2-for-4.
“Kaileah had a good game in the field, hustled out of the batter’s box,” Klemp said.
Wolf earned the complete game win in the circle.
“Steph’s a captain and leader,” Klemp said. “She’s another coach that we have. I’ve been saying that to her since eighth grade.
“I’ve also had the luxury of coaching her multiple years. I coached her in middle school and followed her during her first three years of high school, and I have the privilege of coaching her again. She just battles, she’s so positive, and she’s just a great young lady.”
All told, the Tigers collected 14 hits.
Harry S Truman (1-4, 1-3 SOL) will host Conwell Egan on Wednesday, and Bensalem (4-4, 0-4) will host Little Flower in a non-league game on Monday.

NESHAMINY 9, WILLIAM TENNENT 4
The visiting Panthers put a pair of runs on the board in the top of the first, and that 2-0 score stood until the fifth inning when the Redskins blew the game open with a nine-run outburst.
A pair of walks and a single set the stage for Victoria Smith, who delivered a bases-clearing triple that put the Redskins on top 3-2. Hunter Hart launched a two-run home run, and the Redskins were in command. The Panthers plated a pair of runs in the seventh.
“Again, it was a slow start,” Neshaminy coach Dave Chichilitti said. “We had two outs in the inning before they scored a run in the first and then had two bad errors and a nice hit by them.
“We should have got out of the first inning, but we give two runs away, and they’re demoralized. We had hard-hit balls in the first inning, hard-hit balls in the second and nothing to show for it. Finally, we put the puzzle together and had the big inning I’ve been waiting three weeks for.”
Smith – who had a game-high four RBIs – and Amber Brugger both had two hits to lead the Redskins. Brugger also earned the complete game win in the circle.
For the Panthers, senior Marissa Govan and junior Cassidy Hubmaster both were 2-for-4 at the plate. Freshman Hannah Reimel went 2-for-3.
Neshaminy (5-1, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Wilson West Lawn for a non-league game on Saturday, and William Tennent (2-4, 1-1) returns to action on Tuesday at Central Bucks South.

UPPER DUBLIN 7, UPPER MERION 3
The Flying Cardinals did what few teams were able to do when the Vikings were in the American Conference – they defeated the perennial conference champions who are now competing in the Pioneer Athletic Conference.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the first and added a run in the second, but the Vikings made it a 3-2 game with two runs in bottom of the inning. The Cardinals got those runs back in the third and never looked back.
For the Cardinals, Sarah Tannenbaum was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Jacie McMenamin was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Ellie Kelcy was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Erin Gallagher earned the complete game win, allowing seven hits and three runs (one earned).
For the Vikings, who lost the nucleus of last year’s title squad to graduation, Lauren DelGiudice (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs) and Kayla Warren (1-for-3, RBI) led the way. DelGiudice delivered a two-run double in the second.
Upper Dublin (3-3, 2-2 SOL) will travel to Quakertown on Monday for a make-up game.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 14, GWYNEDD MERCY 2 (6 innings)
The Golden Hawks hit three home runs, and Steph Andreoli got the job done in the circle in the abbreviated non-league contest, working four innings in her 2017 debut to earn the win. She allowed one run, walked two and struck out four.
“Steph bruised her hand two days ago,” coach Greg Heydet said. “It was good to see her back out there.”
The Hawks took care of business early, plating five runs in the top of the first. They added three more in the third. Phylicia Wilkov led off the fourth inning with a solo home run. In the fifth running, Melanie Wilkinson smashed a two-run homer, and in the sixth, Danielle Walters hit a solo shot.
Mackenzie Marino was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Marissa ‘Shorty’ Thompson was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Andreoli, Wilkov and Walters were each 2-for-4.
Council Rock South (5-1, 2-1 SOL) is off until next Wednesday when it will host Archbishop Ryan in a non-league contest.
