NORTH PENN 9, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0
The Knights bounced back in a big way from their loss to Neshaminy two days earlier, and it was Bella Nunn leading the way with a superb outing in the circle, tossing a complete game one-hit shutout. The UMBC-bound senior struck out 14 and walked four.
The Knights scored an unearned run in the top of the first, capitalizing on a Rock North miscue and an RBI single by Sophia Orth. That run turned out to be the game-winner, but the Knights were just getting started.
That 1-0 lead stood until the fourth inning when the Knights benefitted from a pair of errors. Nunn led off the inning with a single, and Liv Stevens followed with a base hit. The Indians’ back-to-back miscues set the stage for RBI singles from Cailin Halfpenny and Gabby Battavio, and by the time the inning was over, the Knights led 4-0.
Tallie Smink’s RBI double in the fifth was followed by a two-run sixth that featured a two-run single by Orth. Gianna Cimino hit a two-run double in the seventh to close out the scoring.
Despite the outcome, Rock North coach Susan Yee had high praise for her pitcher.
“Lucy Mills pitched a way better game today than the line score shows,” the Indians’ coach said. “She had to face a ton of extra hitters due to the defense committing seven errors behind her, and despite the number of batters she had to face, she really only had the batter truly square up the ball maybe four times all day.
“Most of the hits were balls that found their way into holes. She should be commended on the job she did and the composure she showed in the circle against the defending state champions. They are a good team, a team you can’t make mistakes against or give extra chances to, they are going to make you pay every time.”
Leading the Knights at the plate were Cimino (3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBIs, R), Battavio (2-for-5, RBI, R), Orth (2-for-4, 3 RBIs), Nunn (2-for-4) and Lexi Nyce (2-for-2, 2B, 2R).
Chelsea Seiler’s line drive single to left to lead off the second inning was the Indians’ lone hit.
“On a positive note, I was really proud of how a few of our girls refocused themselves after rough starts,” Yee said. “Sophomore Chelsea Seiler had a rough first inning defensively but turned it around with a good at-bat and nice defensive work the rest of the day.
“Junior captain Sierra Klein started off rocky – after being lights out defensively all year- and made the play of the game during a rough inning to completely change the tone. After North Penn had scored three runs and still had the bases loaded with no outs, Sierra made a great heads-up play, fielding a grounder to third and getting the double play by stepping on the bag for the force and gunning a perfect tag throw to Zoe Hardy at the plate to complete a double play that ultimately took us from a horrible situation to a complete momentum shift that ended the inning one batter later. Now we just have to take these individual displays of resilience and show that same thing as a group and collectively refocus to get ourselves back on track as a whole.”
North Penn (9-2, 6-2 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Tuesday, and Council Rock North (4-5, 2-5) will travel to neighboring Council Rock South for a 12 noon game on Saturday.

PENNSBURY 8, SOUDERTON 1
Deadlocked at one run apiece heading into the seventh inning, overtime appeared imminent, but the Falcons made sure that didn’t happen, blowing the game wide open with a seven-run outburst in the seventh to earn the big road win in Thursday’s crossover game.
Kylie Dressel earned the complete game win, allowing just three hits and one run while walking one.
“In our first few games, we had way too many errors,” Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry said. “Today, Dressel had zero strikeouts, so we had to make 21 plays. We made one error on a dropped fly ball, so we made 21 plays.
“That was huge, and the last game we played Pennridge, and we had no errors, and that was a 3-2 game, so that was also huge, so we need to play defense because our pitchers are contact pitchers.”
Olivia Czerniak got the ball rolling in the seventh with a leadoff double and scored on a single by Bela Morales. An error set the stage for a three-run home run by Anna Evanchik. Sammy Raub followed with a single, and Naya Schubel doubled. Then came another Souderton miscue, and the Falcons led 8-1.
Earlier, freshman Kiera Fadden’s solo home run to lead off the second gave the Indians a 1-0 lead. The Falcons knotted the score with an unearned run in the fifth.
Leading the Falcons at the plate was Morales, who was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Schublel was 2-for-3 with a double, and Evanchik’s three RBIs led the Falcons.
Pennsbury (5-2, 4-1 SOL) will face Neshaminy Friday in a rivalry game under the lights at Middletown Community Park, and Souderton (6-4, 3-4) will host Central Bucks East on Saturday at 11 a.m.

NESHAMINY 15, PENNRIDGE 4
Combining for 19 runs – 15 for the visiting Redskins – was not what anyone could have anticipated when Neshaminy traveled to Druckenmiller Park for Thursday’s Community Night game. Nor could anyone have imagined Pennridge ace Averi Dockery throwing just two innings, but that’s exactly what happened. Not, however, before the Redskins put two runs on the board against Dockery, one in the first and another in the second.
“Our girls were on fire starting in the first inning,” Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio said. “Olivia Hughes doubled on the first pitch of the game and was knocked in on a single by Zahmira Coppola-Miller.
“In the bottom of the inning, Averi Dockery made up for it with a solo home run, but we went right back to work the next inning. Freshman Jill Rickards hit her first career home run to get us up 2-1. Erica Dalton hit a laser back to the pitcher, and it unfortunately hit her in the hand, causing her to need to leave the game. It’s such an unfortunate situation, and all of Neshaminy is hoping there is no serious damage and that she gets back in the circle soon. Our offense continued to dominate throughout the rest of the game with hits coming from everywhere in our lineup.”
In the top of the third, singles from Lily Mormello, Morgan Volgraf and Alleigh Waskie (RBI) resulted in another run to put the Redskins on top 3-1. A four-run fourth included singles by Mormello, Volgraf, Waskie (RBI), Morgan Leonhauser (RBI), Kendall McCafferty and Erica Dalton. They also capitalized on a pair of Ram miscues and led 6-1.
Neshaminy’s lead grew to 7-1 after Coppola-Miller hit her second home run of the game – a solo shot to center field with two outs. A six-run fifth put the game out of reach.
Coppola-Miller’s 4-for-5 effort with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs scored led the Rams. Volgraff was 3-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs, and McCafferty was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Also collecting multiple hits were Hughes (2-for-4, 2B, RBI, 2R), Mormello (2-for-4, 2R) and Rickards (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBIs, 2R).
Ellie Miller started and threw five innings to record the win in the circle. Maysie Thomson closed it out with a scoreless sixth.
“It was just such a fun game to watch,” Martoccio said. “Our team culture right now is unbelievable, and I am looking forward to seeing these girls continue to turn some heads.”
Ryleigh Lilly’s 2-for-4 effort with a run scored led the Rams. Gabby Hamburger was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. Dockery was 1-for-1 with a home run in her only at-bat.
Neshaminy (4-2, 3-2 SOL) will face Pennsbury in Friday’s rivalry game at Middletown Community Park at 7 p.m. Pennridge (3-5, 2-4) will travel to Central Bucks East on Tuesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 15, BENSALEM 0 (4 innings)
The Bucks were looking for a bounce-back win after falling to Council Rock South 13-0 on Tuesday. Sienna Lawson made sure they got it, tossing a two-hit gem in the abbreviated mercy rule win.
“After giving up a single to their leadoff batter, Sienna Lawson really settled into her game and then struck out the next eight batters she faced,” West coach Mike Daher said. “For the game, Sienna picked up the win by throwing four shutout innings, striking out nine and only giving up two hits and no walks. She was incredibly efficient, throwing only 54 pitches, 42 for strikes. Sienna also contributed at the plate by going two for three with 3 RBIs.”
Lawson faced just 14 batters, two more than the minimum for four innings.
A pair of walks set the stage for an RBI double by Laila Murray in the bottom of the first, and Molly Gibson’s single plated Murray, spotting Lawson and the Bucks an early 2-0 lead.
Julia Thomas and Avery Rubenstein opened the second inning with back-to-back singles, and both advanced on a passed ball. Lawson followed with a line single to left field that plated a run. Jill Boyle delivered a sacrifice fly, Ana Glemser laced an RBI triple to center, and Chloe Dryden brought Glemser home with a single to left, giving the Bucks a 6-0 lead.
A nine-run fourth inning brought an early end to the game.
“All nine batters in our lineup contributed hits today,” Daher said. Jill Boyle was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Avery Rubenstein was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Laila Murray was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
“Ana Glemser hit an RBI triple into the right center gap and then came home on an RBI single from Chloe Dryden. Molly Gibson also drove in two runs on the day. Taylor Hooven and Julia Thomas also contributed big hits for us. This was a total team effort and was a good bounce-back win after a disappointing loss to Council Rock South.”
Central Bucks West (5-3, 5-2 SOL) will travel to Harry S Truman on Monday, and Bensalem (2-5) will be on the road at Bristol for a non-league game Friday.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 11, ABINGTON 1 (6 innings)
Dagny Mobley and Mabel Klossner are looking like anything but the part of rookies. Both played starring roles in the Lions’ win over the Ghosts. Mobley tossed a six-inning no-hitter, striking out 13 and walking four, while Klossner was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored.
Not a bad day for a pair of freshmen who are playing key roles in the program’s turnaround.
“Dagny Mobley is this incredibly quiet, polite, respectful, hardworking, humble kid, who has walked in, just like Mabel, and has assumed the two roles the kids have done -starting shortstop and starting pitcher, and they just trade off,” NH-S coach Chris Marchok said. “They both do it with an air of humility and team-first, no arrogance, and they work as hard as anybody else. They say nothing other than ‘thank you’ and give suggestions on how to do something better. It’s a ridiculous pleasure to coach those two with their attitude and ethic.”
In the top of the first inning, Natalie Broskley drew a walk and moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt. After Mobley struck out the next batter, Sammi Clewell hit a line drive to center field.
“With a runner in scoring position, the inning ends because our third freshman – Rachel Sim – catches a sinking line drive in left center,” Marchok said. “We’ve had these couple of kids come in, and they’ve built the attitude and competitiveness. Everybody else is following along.
“We have Emily Wilson and Izzy Elizondo, who know what it’s like to compete every game, and now you have added this core of youthful energy and talent, and that’s these 14- and 15-year-old kids who are helping everyone else realize their growing competitiveness.”
The Lions scored all the runs Mobley would need in the bottom of the first. Elena Shire led off with a bunt single, and one out later, Klossner lined a single to right that plated Shire. Mobley lined an RBI double to center, and a third run crossed the plate on Izzy Elizondo’s groundout.
The Lions added two runs in the third to go on top 5-0 before the Ghosts scored their only run in the top of the fifth when, Kaitlyn Ellison, who reached first on an error, scored on a wild pitch. The Lions answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning and brought an early end to the game with two runs in the sixth.
All told, the Lions collected 11 hits. In addition to Klossner, Shire was 3-for-4 with four runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
“She’s hitting somewhere around .600,” Marchok said. “She’s a sophomore kid who never played the game before last year. Again, she’s growing and learning and just soaking in any new coaching she can get.”
Thursday’s win was the sixth in nine games for a Lions’ squad that won just three games last year, two in SOL play.
“Since we came into the SOL, we’ve never been able to compete like this,” Marchok said. “Every day you go to the park, you know you’ve got a shot. It’s fun to coach.”
Thursday’s win came on the heels of an 11-0 loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday.
“We’re learning, we continuing to grow, and we don’t carry from one game to the next all the negativeness,” Marchok said. “We spend a lot of time talking about – how do you move on from that first mistake and not let it become the second and third.
“Today we had two errors – they weren’t back-to-back, and it didn’t become a big thing. They moved on. The kids that made the plays today made errors in previous games, and they didn’t let that carry on. It’s really, really fun seeing the growth and maturity.
“The Dagnys and the Mabels, the Emilys and the Izzys – they are leading by example. It’s fun, and it’s fresh, and even though the kids know we have so much learning to do, it’s fun to be able to do it while tasting a little success along the way.”

UPPER MORELAND 7, UPPER DUBLIN 5
The Golden Bears erupted for four runs in the fifth, turning a 5-3 deficit into a 7-5 lead that held until the final out was recorded in Thursday’s crossover game.
“Today’s win was most definitely a team effort,” UM coach Melanie Martino said. “Steph Jones has been super consistent all season, going 3 for 4 again for us. She gave us a scare in the beginning of the game, diving for a ball in center field, but thank goodness she was okay.
“Kaylee Brown, Erin Distel, and Makenzie Leo all had clutch hits for us.”
Upper Dublin scored a pair of runs in the top of the second that included RBI singles by Kate Brannigan and Kyla Garrison.
The Golden Bears answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning. After Lianna Adames drew a leadoff walk, Makenzie Leo singled, and Distel followed with a sacrifice fly. Jones kept the inning alive with a two-out single, and Kaylee Brown’s line single to center evened the score 2-2.
The Golden Bears took a 3-2 lead in the third with an unearned run, and that score stood until the visiting Cardinals put three on the board in the fifth. Kaitlyn Zacharia’s RBI double highlighted the inning.
In the bottom of the inning, the Golden Bears capitalized on several costly UD miscues to score four runs and take a lead they would not lose.
Jones 3-for-4 effort out of the leadoff spot included a pair of RBIs and a run scored. Brown was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Leo was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
For the Cardinals, Zacharia was 2-for-4 with an RBI double and run scored. Kaitlin Small was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored, and Kyla Garrison was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
“Upper Dublin hit the ball hard today – they always do, they are very well coached,” Martino said. “It was a back-and-forth game today. I was very proud of our team they just kept battling no matter what as they have every game.”
Delaney Stout earned the complete game win in the circle, allowing eight hits and five runs (three earned) while striking out five and walking five.
Garrison absorbed the loss for UD, allowing nine hits and seven runs (two earned) while striking out 10 and walking five.

QUAKERTOWN 10, WILLIAM TENNENT 4
Ava Beal was an all-but-impossible out.
The speedy senior was 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, two RBIs and two runs out of the leadoff spot. Beal sparked Quakertown’s 15-hit attack in a contest that saw the visiting Panthers open up a 10-1 lead before Tennent scored three late runs.
Beal led off the top of the first with a single and immediately stole second and third,
scoring on a sacrifice fly by Mary Wilkinson.
Colleen Gallagher doubled to lead off a five-run second that included singles by Madison Mallery, Beal (RBI) and Leah Schwalm (2 RBIs) as well as a pair of costly Tennent miscues.
Quakertown upped its lead to 7-0 in the third before Tennent put a run on the board in the fourth when Sydney Teufel, who singled to lead off the inning, scored on a sacrifice fly by Rylie O’Toole.
The two teams exchanged runs the rest of the way.
In addition to Beal, Mallery was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Schwalm was 2-for-5 with three RBIs, Ellie Hilton was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Abbey Wagner was 2-for-4 with a double.
Wagner notched the complete game win in the circle, allowing seven hits and four runs (one earned) while striking out 10 and walking one.
Tennent was led by the 3-for-4 effort of Morgan Kocher out of the leadoff spot that included a run scored. Victoria Colagreco was 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the two-run seventh inning. Teufel was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 13, SPRINGFIELD TWP 2 (5 innings)
The Hatters scored in each of four innings and blew the game wide open with a seven-run outburst in the third inning.
“Our hits found the open spaces today,” Hatters’ coach Jen Tooley said. “We tell the girls you can only control the controllables. Where the balls goes after contact is an uncontrollable, keep squaring up the ball and it will find the holes.
“Our girls did just that today. Cara Neeld had herself a day. She has really improved her approaches at the plate with solid contact.”
Neeld’s three-hit effort led the potent Hatters attack that scored a pair of runs in the first inning. Three free passes loaded the bases, and Ryleigh White doubled to center field to plate a pair.
The Spartans answered with a run in the second, capitalizing on a walk to Ashley Schulz, who stole second and third and scored on Jordyn Serrao’s single.
In the bottom of the second, a two-out double by Maya Ravi was followed by a single from Neeld. Alyssa Tooley’s single scored a run, and Kennedy Conn’s RBI single gave the Hatters a 5-1 lead.
In the third, Springfield’s Joce Davis lined an RBI triple to right to make it a 5-2 game, but then came the seven-run third for the Hatters.
White drew a leadoff walk and scored with Kiersten Rimer lined a double to left field. The Hatters were on the receiving end of five walks and a hit batter in the inning. They also received singles from Neeld (RBI) and Adriana DeLeon.
The Hatters scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, bringing an early end to the game after Conn threw a shutout inning to close out the game. She struck out one and walked one.
“Freshman Kennedy Conn had her varsity debut on the mound today to close the game in the fifth,” Tooley said.
Alyssa Tooley notched the win, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out nine and walking two in four innings.
Neeld’s 3-for-3 effort with an RBI and three runs scored led the Hatters. Tooley was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.

WISSAHICKON 13, CHELTENHAM 1 (6 innings)
Gianna Trerotola tossed a three-hit gem in the circle, striking out 11 and walking two, and the Trojans provided plenty of support, erupting for eight runs in the fourth to seize control of a close game.
“Gianna had her best game of the year – she threw great,” Wissahickon coach Mike Borkowski said. “She was hitting her spots today.
“We really, really have been working the last couple of days with our defense and our pitchers, especially our catchers setting up and our pitchers setting up hitters, trying to work and hitting their spots. Reagan (Ensminger), our catcher, said it felt like Gianna was a lot faster today. She had a great game, and she’s a great kid too. It was fun to watch her.”
The Trojans broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the third.
“We couldn’t hit their pitcher – she had a weird ball going, and the girls had a tough time adjusting,” Borkowski said.
Then came the fateful fourth and the Trojans’ eight-run outburst.
Dani Marra opened the inning with a single, and that was followed by a single from senior Ensminger. After the Lady Panthers recorded an out on a bunt, freshman Giuliana Schumann tripled, driving in a pair. Freshman shortstop Julia Lentz’ two-run home run put the Trojans on top 5-0.
The inning was far from over.
Siena Miller singled, and Trerotola helped her own cause when she smashed a two-run home run. Ariel Lucas-Turner was safe on an error and scored on Marra’s second single of the inning. Ensminger also picked up her second hit of the inning, an RBI double that put the Trojans on top 9-0.
The Trojans added four runs in the top of the sixth. Sophomore Ava Frederick led off the inning with a single, and that was followed by back-to-back RBI doubles by Alexis Doll-Young and Trinity Doman. Chloe McClintic’s infield single also plated a run, and the Trojans led 13-0.
The Trojans broke up Trerotola’s shutout bid with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
With no JV game, Borkowski was able to use 23 of 25 players in some capacity in the game.
“That was really nice,” the Trojans’ coach said.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 17, LOWER MORELAND 2 (4 innings)
The Colonials erupted for 17 hits and 17 runs on their way to the decisive win in the abbreviated crossover game, scoring 14 of those runs in the third and fourth innings.
“I was really proud of our girls today,” PW coach Mike Perez said. “It was a total team win with everybody contributing something towards the victory.
“Offensively, we were led by Joslyn Perez and Kalina Childers, who had three hits apiece and seven RBIs between them.”
The Colonials put three runs on the board in the third inning, thanks to doubles by Sam Skivo, Anna Powel (RBI) and Perez (RBI) as well as an RBI triple by Kalina Childers.
“I was really proud of how the girls made adjustments after the first inning and started hitting line drives back up the middle and to the right side,” Perez said. “It’s something we have been working on a lot this season.”
The fun was just starting for the Colonials who added eight runs in the third inning and six more in the fourth.
In addition to Joslyn Perez (3-for-3, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, 3R),and Childers (3-for-3, 3B, 3 RBIs, 3R), the Colonials also received multi-hit performances from Caelin Kosvitch (2-for-4, RBI, R), Skivo (2-for-3, 2B, RBI, 2R), Powel (2-for-2, 2B, RBI, 2R) and Rian Reed (2-for-3, 2 RBIs, 2R).
Madison Moran notched the win with three shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out five and walking none.
“Madison Moran looked great in the circle today,” Perez said. “She pitched the first three innings, giving up a hit to the first batter and then shutting them down the rest of the way.”
The Lions bunched three of their four hits in the fourth inning when they scored their only two runs. Maddie Menchhofer’s double was the big hit of the inning that also included a two-run single by Jordyn MacPhee.
