COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 7, ABINGTON 6
The visiting Golden Hawks scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to turn a one-run deficit into a 7-6 lead. Danielle Walters retired the Ghosts in the bottom of the inning and the come-from-behind win was in the books.
“This was a huge game for us obviously being it was one of the first conference games we’ve had in a couple of days,” said coach Frank Marino, whose team is 4-1 in its last five games. “It was nice to win, but it was certainly sweeter to win in a conference game.
“It was a big game against a strong team. Abington came to play, no question about it. It was their Senior Night, and they were pumped up. They have a couple of seniors – they get everybody to rally behind them. They certainly have leadership on the team.”
The Hawks’ comeback began with a one-out walk to Karley Despirito, and the Hawks benefitted from a Ghost miscue and an Ally Kirschner single. The tying run crossed the plate on a wild pitch, and with two outs, Danielle Walters single to left to plate the go-ahead run.
Earlier, the Ghosts, who trailed 5-3 heading into the fifth – plated a pair of runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to go on top 6-5.
“With their Senior Night, they started to get momentum,” Marino said. “Their team rallied around every at bat or anytime they got a runner on.
“We had a miscue or two on our end, and that led to them getting two runs in the sixth when they took the lead.”
Walters earned the win, allowing eight hits, striking out nine and walking three.
The Golden Hawks were led by Walters (3-for-5, RBI), Julie Barron (3-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs), Makenna Diamond (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs) and Liv Zoldi (2-for-4).
Abington's Sam Marasheski went 2 for 3 with 2 triples and 3 RBI’s.
Council Rock South (5-3, 3-2 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Thursday as the second game of a twinbill that is an ALS fundraiser. Abington (3-5, 1-5) will take on Pennsbury at 4 p.m. as the opening game of a doubleheader at Northampton Civic Center.

The Tigers picked up their fourth win in as many outings, and in the process, they equaled their win total of the entire season last year.
“And we still have a heck of a lot more games to go,” coach Lisamarie Bellmonte said.
The Tigers took led 3-2 after three innings. They added a single run in the fifth on an Elle Olivero single and two more in the sixth to seal the Indians’ fate.
“I think we just applied a lot of pressure offensively today, not only with our bats but base running,” Bellmonte said. “Just the intensity in the dugout from the girls – they really provided a lot of cheering.
“My jayvee girls came down, and they were hyped up and kept the noise level up. It was really exciting to watch it all unfold. The girls have been unbelievable”
Chrissie Huhn (2-for-4, RBI, 2 runs) and Olivero (2-for-4, RBI, run) led the Tigers.
“I can’t even put into words how excited they are about the things that are going on,” Bellmonte said. “I used to coach at Council Rock North, so that was a big win to come out with a win against a very tough team.
“We were tied for second with them and now we took second and we moved up in districts to a spot that keeps us in playoff contention as long as we continue to get the job done. I think for the first time in a long time they’re feeling that.”
Harry S Truman (5-4, 4-2 SOL) will host William Tennent in a non-league game on Thursday, and Council Rock North (7-4, 3-3) will face Council Rock South in the second game of the ALS twinbill at Northampton Civic Center on Thursday.

PENNSBURY 11, BENSALEM 3
The Falcons led 6-0 after two innings and never looked back on their way to a win that evened their mark in conference play.
“Our kids came out like gangbusters, which was good,” coach Frank McSherry said. “We hadn’t seen that yet, so that was real nice.
“We had a pretty good heart-to-heart talk with them yesterday. Hopefully, that lit a fire. We’ll see. We have a couple more games this week.”
Allison Rose was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Falcons. Carly Parson was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, and Arden Rabiger had a double.
For the Owls, Tori Yorgey doubled and Angelica Micalizzi was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Alyssa Hileman earned the complete game win, allowing nine hits while striking out two and walking none.
Pennsbury (3-8, 3-3 SOL) will face Abington at the Northampton Civic Center on Thursday at 4:05 p.m. Bensalem (4-7, 1-6) will be on the road at Neshaminy.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1, SOUDERTON 0
Kylie Kenney tossed a one-hit gem to lead the Titans to the win in a classic pitcher’s dual that was over in just 64 minutes. The junior hurler fanned 10 and walked three.
“Kylie has pitched a lot of good games, but that was the best of the season for her,” coach Kevin Rosini said. “They just couldn’t hit her.”
The Titans’ ace took a no-hitter into the sixth inning when – with two outs – Alex Scheeler hit a double
“It was a clean hit, but it kind of blooped over the third baseman’s head, and then it had such a spin on it that it rolled out of play for a double,” Rosini said. “That was it.”
The Titans plated the game’s only run in the fifth. Nicole Pilla legged out an infield single to open the inning and moved up to second on a sacrifice by Olivia Zoolalian. With two outs and Pilla still on second, Alexa Ortman doubled down the right field line, plating a run that turned out to be the game winner.
Scheeler absorbed the loss despite allowing just four hits and one run. She struck out one and walked one in a glittering performance of her own.
“I’ll tell you what – Alex (Scheeler) was on top of her game too,” Rosini said. “She only struck out one, so we were putting the ball in play left and right, and they made all the plays. Alex fielded probably five or six balls herself.
“It was a really well-pitched game by both of them. We were fortunate, we were very, very fortunate. Souderton is a whole lot better than they were last season. Alex is already a good pitcher, but their defense is better.
“It was a well-played game. Kylie had a lot of strikeouts, but Alex moved the ball around and kept us off balance.”
Central Bucks South (8-2, 4-2 SOL) will travel to Pennridge on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. contest, and Souderton (6-4, 2-4) will host Central Bucks East on Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (10 innings)
Emma Cooper singled up the middle with no outs in the bottom of the 10th, and Kayla Gallagher raced home from third to give the Bucks the walk-off win.
With the international tiebreaker in effect, Gallagher was on second to open the 10th, and she moved up to third on a passed ball, setting the stage for Cooper’s heroics that propelled the Bucks to their fifth straight win.
“Everybody is coming together,” West coach Geoff Thompson said. “We’re getting good pitching, and the defense is really coming around.
“I tell them – when we get good pitching and good defense, we’re going to be in every game, and that’s what they’re doing.”
The two teams combined for just nine hits.
“It was tough,” Thompson said. “Both teams played awesome defense – good pitching and good defense. It was one of those grind-it-out wins. It was good for us.”
For eight innings, Gallagher was in command in the circle, allowing just four hits, striking out four and walking three.
“She pitched awesome,” Thompson said. “
Angelina Sherba, who earned the win, threw a scoreless 10th and did not allow a hit, striking out one.
Grace Dryden collected two of West’s five hits.
Tennent coach Deanna Myers had high praise for her two pitchers – senior Kayla Finkelstein and freshman Mackenzie Clee – as well.
Central Bucks West (6-3, 3-3 SOL) will travel to North Penn on Thursday, and William Tennent (5-6, 2-5) will be on the road at Harry S Truman for a non-league game.

While their counterparts in the conference were locked in pitcher’s duals, the Knights and Patriots opted for a slugfest, combining for 20 runs and 32 hits.
“It was a hitter’s game,” said coach Rick Torresani.
The Knights seized control with back-to-back five-run innings in the third and fourth innings to go on top 12-3 before the Patriots scored four in the bottom of the fourth.
Jordan Pietrzykoski, who finished the game 2-for-4, hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Courtney Neal was 2-for-4 with two doubles, and Paige Paciolla was 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Emily Groarke was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Victoria Juckniewitz and Elia Namey were both 3-for-4. Namey scored three runs on a day that saw everyone in the Knights’ lineup contribute at least one hit.
“We just singled them to death,” Torresani said. “It was an interesting game.”
The Patriots had four home runs in the game – one each from Audrey LaBouliere, Alyssa Catron, Isabel Parker and Hailey Aspinwall. Aspinwall led the Patriots’ 14-hit attack with a 4-for-5 showing out of the leadoff spot that included a home run, RBI and two runs scored. LaBouliere was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Parker was 3-for-4 with a home run, RBI and run scored. Catron was 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored.
“They had won three in a row, and I told the girls – they weren’t going to give up,” Torresani said. “Even though we were up 12-3, it was still early in the game.
“They went out in the fourth inning, they started hitting the ball and got right back into it, but we shut them out in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.”
Torresani acknowledged that he opted to walk LaBouliere intentionally with first base open and a runner on second in the fourth inning. Catron made it hurt, hitting a two-run home run.
“Real smart on my part,” Torresani said with a laugh.
Freshman Mady Volpe earned the win while Rachael Lowry recorded the save.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 8, UPPER MORELAND 6
The middle innings proved to be the difference for the Colonials, who scored all eight of their runs in the third through fifth innings to go on top 8-3 before the Golden Bears staged a rally in the seventh. It wasn’t enough to steal the win from an inspired Colonial squad.
“We got some timely hits,” PW coach Dana Moyer said. “We had good at bats, we swung at good pitches.
“We had a couple of girls who were down 1-2 and took it to a fullcount, fouled off some pitches and got base hits. I was proud of my girls the way they were swinging at good pitches and fouling off pitches that weren’t theirs.”
The Colonials broke a 3-3 tie in the fourth, thanks to RBI singles by Peyton Baldwin and Sydney Melillo. The three-run fifth proved to be the difference in the game and featured RBIs from Josee Tassoni, Emma Carney and Allison Beausoleil. They needed all of those runs to withstand a seventh-inning comeback attempt by the Bears.
“I always know Scott’s teams never stop,” Moyer said of UM coach Scott Ludlow. “We made some errors and didn’t make some pitches when we needed to.”
Jennifer Byrne and Melillo both had triples and circled the bases as a result of UM miscues. Byrne (2-for-3, 3B, RBI, 2 runs) and Melillo (2-for-3, 3B, RBI, run), Tassoni (2-for-4, RBI, 2 runs), Baldwin (2-for-3, RBI, run) and Carney (2-for-3, 2B, RBI, run) ignited PW’s 13-hit attack.
“Everybody contributed today,” Moyer said. “It really was a complete team effort today.
“Kamryn Kropinski, our leadoff batter, was on base a few times. Up and down the lineup – a lot of people were on base. We were trying to be aggressive with hit-and-runs and bunt-and-runs, and it worked in our favor today.”
Brianna Hughes was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored to lead the Golden Bears.
Beausoleil earned the complete game win, allowing eight hits and six runs (only two earned) while striking out four and walking three.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (4-3 SOL) will travel to Wissahickon on Thursday, and Upper Moreland (4-2, 3-2) will host Central Bucks East on Wednesday.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 12, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP (5 innings)
The Hatters took a 1-0 lead into the third inning when they erupted for six runs and then added five more in the fourth to bring an early end to the contest.
Kyleigh Dinnien’s 3-for-4 showing at the plate (RBI, run) led the Hatters’ 12-hit attack. Also contributing multi-hit games were Brittany Hubler (2-for-3, HR, 2RBIs, run), Logan Cummings (2-for-3, RBI, 2 runs) and Antoinette Spinosa (2-for-3, 3 RBIs, 2 runs).
Cummings earned the win, allowing one hit in four strong innings. She struck out six and walked one. Grace Daniels did not allow a hit in a scoreless inning in relief. She struck out one.

QUAKERTOWN 16, WISSAHICKON 0 (4 innings)
The Panthers scored early and often on their way to the lopsided win in the abbreviated contest.
Tori Caputo allowed just two hits while striking out five and walking one in four shutout innings. She put an exclamation point on the win by hitting a home run that brought an early end to the game in the fourth. She finished the game 2-for-4 with a double, home run, four RBIs and a run scored.
Abby Schwartz was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs out of the leadoff spot. Also delivering multi-hit games were Nikki Vanelli (2-for-4, 2 runs), Sarah Stofik (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBIs, 3 runs), Becca Hall (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Brianna Lefkoski (2-for-3, RBI, run).

The Redskins trailed 2-1 heading into the fifth inning when they scored five runs to take a lead they would not lose. Highlights of the inning were a double by Hallie Duffy as well as singles by Natalie Rios and Paige Metz.
Rios (2-for-5), Victoria Smith (2-for-3, RBI) and Metz (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) led the Redskins. Amber Brugger hit a solo home run in the third, and Liana Jones tripled and scored in the sixth. Duffy led the ‘Skins with three RBIs.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2, CONWELL EGAN 0
Danielle Walters struck out 14 and allowed just four hits in an overpowering effort. She walked five batters but was in complete command.
The Golden Hawks scored the only runs they would need in the bottom of the third, benefitting from Conwell Egan miscues.
“After going back-to-back games against Neshaminy’s (Sarah) Dowalo and going up against Archbishop Wood’s Marisa Browne – they throw very hard,” coach Frank Marino said. “Conwell’s pitcher did a really nice job of just hitting her spots and keeping the ball low. She mixed it up and kind of had our girls watching the ball. We didn’t have a whole lot going on.”
