PENNSBURY 5, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
Laney Freiband tossed an impressive four-hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking none to lead the Falcons to the road win.
“She had a great day – this was one of her best days,” Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry said. “She really had great, great control, and that’s the biggest thing.”
The Falcons put a run on the board in the top of the first when Liv Czerniak, who singled, scored on an East miscue.
In the third inning, the Falcons added a pair. Presley Foote led off with a single, moved up to second when Czerniak was safe on an error. She stole third and raced home on an errant throw. Ava Storlazzi’s safety squeeze bunt pushed a run across that put the Falcons on top 3-0.
In the fourth inning, Lily Baughman hit a two-out double to left field and scored when Taylor Askey hit a two-strike, two-out RBI single for a 4-0 lead.
Maya Schubel hit a one-out double in the sixth and moved up to third on Baughman’s bunt single. Schubel scored on Askey’s sacrifice fly to right field.
Baughman led the Falcons with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate that included a double and run scored.
“Baughman in her first varsity start against Souderton had two hits and she put all four at-bats in play,” McSherry said. “She was 2-for-3 today. I feel good for her.”
For the Patriots, Corinn Eads was 2-for-3.
Pennsbury (11-1, 9-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Monday, and Central Bucks East (3-9, 2-6) is scheduled to be on the road at Bensalem on Friday.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4, PENNRIDGE 3 (11 innings)
The Indians – who seem to hold the corner of the market when it comes to extra-inning games – gutted out an 11-inning win over the visiting Rams.
It would have been easy for a young Rock North squad to fold after the Rams rallied to knot the score with a run in the top of the seventh.
Or, they could have conceded when the Rams went ahead in the top of the 10th, but they answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, persevering and finally winning it with a run in the bottom of the 11th.
“It was certainly not the prettiest game, but it was a battle from beginning to end that both teams fought valiantly, and none of the three pitchers who stepped on the field deserved to lose,” Rock North coach Susan Yee said. “The pitchers threw tremendously to keep both teams in the hunt.”
In the end, the Indians won it in the 11th inning when Haley Edelman – on second to begin the inning with the international tiebreaker in effect – scored on a two-out error. In the top of the inning, a bunt popup by the Rams’ leadoff batter turned into a double play, erasing the runner who opened the inning on second base.
Early on, the visiting Rams plated an unearned run in the first inning. The Indians evened the score in the bottom of the second. Chelsea Seiler drew a two-out walk, advanced to second on a passed ball and scored on Taylor Gearhart’s single to center.
Seiler gave the Indians a 2-1 lead when – with two outs in the fifth – she smacked a solo home run to left field. They took that one-run lead into the top of the seventh when the Rams knotted the score.
Sam Linck drew a leadoff walk, Sophia Vargo was hit by a pitch, and both runners advanced on a passed ball. Linck raced home with the tying run when Ryleigh Lilly’s fly ball was caught in foul territory in left field, setting the stage for extra innings.
In the 10thinning, the two teams exchanged runs, In the top of the inning, Lilly, who opened the inning on second, scored on a fielder’s choice. In the bottom of the inning, the Indians evened the score on Gearhart’s RBI groundout. One inning later, the Indians won it.
“Our team was certainly not crisp,” said Yee. “During regulation alone, we stranded the bases loaded twice, came up empty with runners on second and third once, and also stranded runners on first and third in another inning. We just couldn’t come up with the timely hits when we needed, and a lot of that had to do with the stellar performance by Averi Dockery in the circle. She really has a bright future ahead of her, she’s a tremendous player.
“On top of trying to set a world record for runners left on base, we also committed four errors in today’s game. However, with all that going wrong, to come out with a win against a team as strong as Pennridge, once again shows the heart of this year’s CR North team. No matter the situation, these girls just keep battling.”
Olivia Schlindwein and Lucy Mills shared time in the circle. Schlindwein started and three 6.1 innings, allowing two hits and two runs (both unearned) while striking out nine and walking two. Mills, who earned the win, threw the final 4.2 innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four and walking none.
“Our two freshman pitchers, Olivia Schlindwein and Lucy Mills both, pitched fantastically, and they deserve all the credit in the world for keeping us in this game until we could eke out the win,” said Yee, whose team has seen the international tiebreaker go into effect three times this year. “Between all my years of coaching and my years of playing, I’ve be involved in thousands of games at this point, and I may have experienced more ITB games this season than I have in all of my other years combined.”
For the Rams, Reagan Bauman had two hits.
Pennridge (7-5, 5-4 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Monday at 6:30 p.m., and Council Rock North (7-6, 4-5) will be on the road at Souderton on Monday.

The Golden Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, and although that lead was short-lived, it put the Knights in a position they’d been in only once before. They responded with six runs in the top of the second to take a lead they would not lose.
“Our kids battled,” Rock South coach Dan Schram said. “Good pitcher and a good team. We look forward to seeing them again. It is always a pleasure to see Coach Ellie White.”
In the bottom of the first, Kaylie Walters drew a leadoff walk and moved up to second on Avery Tumolo’s sacrifice bunt. She scored when – with two outs – Ameerah Wheet lined an RBI single to right field.
For the Knights, Sophia Orth opened the second inning with a single, and one out later, Casey Sokol singled to center. An intentional walk to Julia Shearer loaded the bases, setting the stage for a grand slam home run by Sarah Sabocsik, who capped an eight-pitch at-bat by smashing a shot over the center field fence.
The Knights weren’t finished yet, and after Annabelle Smink drew a walk, Brie
Wilmot hit a home run to center field, giving the Knights a 6-1 lead. North Penn added three runs in the fifth to go on top 9-1 before the Golden Hawks scored three runs.
In the fifth, Julia Scannapieco was safe on an error to lead off the inning, and Lexi Waring followed with a single. A groundout pushed a run across.
In the sixth, the Golden Hawks benefitted from a North Penn error as well as singles by Kelly Delise and Scannapieco to score a pair that closed out the scoring for both sides.
Julia Shearer, who had allowed just one earned run in 12 games prior to Thursday’s outing, notched the complete game win, allowing seven hits and four runs (one earned) while striking out 10 and walking two.
Wilmot (2-for-4, HR, 2RBIs, 1R) and Sokol (2-for-3, RBI, 1R) led the Knights.
For the Golden Hawks, Wheet was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
North Penn (13-0, 9-0 SOL) will be on the road at Bensalem on Monday, and Council Rock South (9-3, 6-3) will travel to Pennridge on Monday for a 6:30 p.m. contest.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 5, HARRY S TRUMAN 1
The Bucks – riding another strong outing by ace Sienna Lawson – found themselves locked in a 1-1 tie heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when they erupted for four runs to earn the Senior Day win against a pesky Tiger squad.
The Bucks have just two seniors on their roster – Emma Haurin and Trisha Furia, and both were in the middle of the action.
“It was a really good game today,” CB West coach Ali Coleman said. ”We were putting the ball in play, and they were making the plays. It was a great win for our two seniors.”
The Tigers got on the scoreboard in the top of the first when – after their leadoff batter drew a walk – Kaitlyn Erhard lined a triple to center field. That 1-0 score stood until the bottom of the fourth when Chloe Dryden – who lined a one-out triple to center field – scored on senior Emma Haurin’s sacrifice fly.
“When we got the tying run in, that definitely helped us, gave us some momentum into the next couple of innings,” Coleman said.
In the four-run sixth, Taylor Hooven led off with a single but was erased on a double play. Dryden followed with a two-out single, and a Tiger miscue on Haurin’s hard grounder opened the floodgates. A walk to senior Trisha Furia loaded the bases, and a pair of runs crossed the plate on the Tigers’ second error of the inning. Sienna Lawson singled to reload the bases for pinch hitter Ana Glemser, whose two-run single gave the Bucks their final margin of victory.
Lawson notched the win, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out 13 and walking one.
“Sienna killed it,” Coleman said. “She only gave up two hits, one run and one walk – one of those hits and a walk were in the first inning, and after that first inning, she came back and really fought for that win for us.”
Dryden was 2-for3 with a triple and two runs scored while Lawson was also 2-for-4 in a contest that saw the Bucks collect just six hits.
Central Bucks West (7-5, 5-4 SOL) will be on the road at Pennsbury on Monday, and Harry S Truman (2-9, 0-9) will host Conwell-Egan in a non-league game on Friday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 19, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 9 (5 innings)
In a contest that featured 28 runs and 24 hits between the two teams combined, the Colonials found themselves on the short end of a 6-2 score heading into the third inning but outscored the visiting Spartans 17-3 the rest of the way.
“I feel like a broken record recently talking about team victories, but this was a complete team victory,” PW coach Mike Perez said. “Eight different batters got a hit, nine scored a run, and all 10 produced an RBI.
“On a day when Molly Moore wasn’t at her best in the circle, we had to rally together to claw back from an early deficit.”
The Colonials scored a pair in the bottom of the first without collecting a hit only to watch the Spartans respond with six runs in the top of the second. A two-run single by McKayla McKeever and a two-run double by Taylor Schulz highlighted the inning.
“After going down 2-0 in the bottom of the first, we battled back and got the bats going and got six runs,” Springfield coach Heather Gehlhaus said.
In the bottom of the third, the Colonials put seven runs on the board to go on top 9-6. Rian Reed’s two-run double highlighted the big inning. She also singled to lead off the inning. Moore (RBI), Caelin Kosvitch (RBI), Anna Powel (RBI) and Sam Skivo also contributed singles.
The Spartans evened the score with three runs in the top of the fourth, but a seven-run fourth inning gave the Colonials a lead they would never lose.
For the Colonials, Reed led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate that included a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Adding multiple hits for the Colonials were Moore (2-for-4, 3 RBIs, 4R), Skivo (2-f-for-3, 2 RBIs, 1R), Powel (2-for-3, RBI, 2R), Kalina Childers (2-for-4, RBI, 2R) and Joslyn Perez (2-for-3, RBI, 2R). Kosvitch was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs.
“Rian was also the star at the plate with four big hits,” Perez said. “Molly didn’t get down on herself and finished with two big hits, four runs scored and three runs knocked in.
“What I’m most proud of is our small ball today, with 3-4 nice bunts for hits and some really great base running.”
For the Spartans, Ashley Schulz was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, Taylor Schulz was 2-for-4, McKayla McKeever was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIS and a run scored. Emily West was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.
“Emily West has been a huge contributor for our offense the past few games,” Gehlhaus said. “Ashley and Taylor Schulz continue to drive our offense. McKayla McKeever has also continued to be clutch at the plate for us.
“It was a strong effort despite the outcome.”
Three pitchers saw action for the Colonials. Moore threw two innings. Madison Moran threw the next two and Reed closed it out with a scoreless fifth inning. The trio combined for 12 strikeouts.
“Our pitching depth has been on display this year, and that was definitely the case today,” Perez said. “Madison Moran came in and pitched really well for us and the bats woke up in the fourth, and Rian Reed took over in the fifth to finish it out.”
Perez was grateful his team was able to play on a day that saw numerous games postponed because of unplayable field conditions.
“Huge shout out to our grounds crew for getting the field ready to play,” the Colonials’ coach said. “It didn’t look pretty early, so we were excited just to be able to play.

QUAKERTOWN 13, UPPER MORELAND 2 (5 innings)
The Panthers scored four runs in the bottom of the first and added to their lead in every inning of the abbreviated contest. The Panthers pounded out 14 hits.
“The thing I liked today was literally everything we hit was hit really hard,” Quakertown coach Dave Scott said. “No cheapies in there at all, there were no little bloops. We timed up their pitcher very well and were able to make really, really good solid contact.”
After Abbey Wagner struck out the side in the top of the first, the Panthers went to work in the bottom of the inning. With one out, Emma Hilton and Leah Schwalm both singled around a walk to Skyler Williams to load the bases. Maya Hellyer fouled off three two-strike pitches before grounding a double to left that plated a pair. Mary Wilkinson followed with a line single to right that allowed two more runs to cross the plate, and just like that, the Panthers had a 4-0 lead.
That advantage grew to 7-0 in the second inning. Ava Beal led off the inning with a single, and Hilton followed and smashed a two-run home run to left field.
“We had three home runs, and the nicest one for me was Emma Hilton’s,” Scott said. “Emma is a senior and has not hit a home run in her life, so today was the first actual home run she’s ever hit in a game. I’m just thrilled for her, so excited and happy that it happened.
“Emma started off a little slowly this year for us, and just over the last five or six games has absolutely gone crazy and gotten hot, which is great to see.”
Singles by Williams and Hellyer kept the inning alive, and Williams scored on Wilkinson’s groundout.
In a five-run third, Katie Muller led off with a single, and an error put a pair on board. Beal’s single plated a run, and two more crossed the plate when Hilton roped a triple to right. Williams followed and smashed a two-run home run to center field for a 12-0 lead.
The Golden Bears broke up Wagner’s shutout bid with an unearned run in the fourth when – after a two-out miscue – Devyn Kniese lined an RBI double to right field. Kniese scored the Bears’ second run on a Panther error.
Freshman Kira Jefferson’s solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth – in only her second varsity at-bat of her rookie season – closed out the scoring for both sides.
“She was one of my jayvee call-ups today,” Scott said. “Upper Moreland didn’t have a jayvee team, so they didn’t have a game, so I called up a couple of jayvee players.
“We see a lot of potential in her. She’s going to be a big part of our program in the future, but it was very nice to see her today. She absolutely crushed a home run tonight. It was one of those no-doubt-about-it from the second it left her bat.”
Abbey Wagner earned the win, allowing one hit and two runs (both unearned) while striking out 11 and walking one.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 8, WILLIAM TENNENT 5
The Hatters – behind a strong outing by Alyssa Tooley in the circle – took an 8-1 lead into the seventh inning and fought off a late comeback attempt by the Panthers. Amaya Lundy and Adriana DeLeon combined for seven RBIs to lead the Hatters’ attack.
“The girls had the energy we needed for today’s game,” Hatters’ coach Jen Tooley said. “Alyssa did a great job in the circle. With the lead of Maddie Karpovich calling pitches behind the plate, the battery recorded 14 strikeouts.
“Amaya Lundy put us on the board in the first with a three-run home run. And the hits kept coming. The Panthers battled until the last possible out. It was a good game and our girls demonstrated how to battle some adversity.”
Tooley led off the first with a single, and one out later, Abby Waeltz singled. Lundy emptied the bases with one swing of the bat with a three-run blast to left field. Maddie Karpowich followed with a single, and Bella Karpovich’s two-out double brought Maddie home for a 4-0 advantage.
In the third, DeLeon’s two-out double plated a pair of runs and put the Hatters on top 6-0. Casey Yacovelli’s solo home run in the fifth put the Panthers on the board. The Hatters answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning when DeLeon delivered a two-run, two-out single.
Anna Coulter’s grand slam in the top of the seventh made it an 8-5 game, and the Panthers brought the tying run to the plate, but Tooley closed it out.
Tess Kearney (2-for-4), Lundy (2-for-3, HR, 3 RBIs, 3R) and DeLeon (2-for-3, 2B, 4 RBIs) led the Hatters’ 10-hit attack.
For the Panthers, Gigi Demito was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored.
In the complete game win, Tooley allowed eight hits and five runs, striking out 14 and walking five.

The Lions used Thursday’s game to Support Survivors and Raise Awareness of Sexual Abuse, and it looked as though they were on their way to a win after opening up a 9-3 lead heading into the top of the sixth when the visiting Trojans erupted for seven runs to go on top 10-9.
The Lions didn’t go down quietly, retaking the lead with a pair of runs, but the Trojans scored five in the top of the seventh, and the Lions had no answer.
For the Lions, leadoff batter Elena Shire led the way with a 3-for-6 effort that included one RBI and two runs scored. Kaylee Harris was 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and one run scored. Bianca Elizondo finished the day 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs, and Elizabeth Migliaccio was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
