PENNSBURY 5, WILLIAM TENNENT 3
Casey Glynn’s two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning propelled the Falcons – who trailed 3-2 heading into the seventh – to the dramatic walk-off win on Tuesday.
“It was big coming from behind,” coach Frank McSherry said. “I told Murph (assistant coach Dave Murphy) – I don’t even remember the last time we had a walk-off win. It’s been a long time.”
The Falcons’ seventh inning rally began with Sierra Daly’s one-out single. Carly Parsons grounded into a fielder’s choice, and the Falcons were down to their final out with a runner on first. Parsons stole second and scored the tying run when freshman Caitlyn Martell delivered a clutch single. That set the stage for Glynn’s game-winning blast.
“In the third inning, (Glynn) hit one that looked identical, and (Caitlyn) Mitros caught it at the fence,” McSherry said. “A couple of things had to happen in that seventh inning to get to Casey – Sierra getting on was big even though she was erased on a fielder’s choice and then Carly stealing second and then Martell, who was on base three times.”
Martell was 2-for-4 and also was safe on an error. Daly also was 2-for-4, and Haines was 2-for-3.
For the Panthers, Mackenzie Clee was 2-for-3 with a double and Caitlyn Mitros was 2-for-4.
Ainsley McClure notched the complete game win, allowing six hits and three runs (one earned) while striking out a pair.
Pennsbury (6-0, 4-0 SOL) will host Council Rock South on Thursday, and William Tennent (2-4, 1-3) will host Neshaminy on Thursday.

BENSALEM 6, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5
The never-say-die Owls trailed 2-0 heading into the seventh inning, and just three outs separated them from a shutout loss. By the time those three outs were recorded, the Owls – sparked by a grand slam off the bat of freshman Maggie Formichelli – had put six runs on the board.
“We never, ever lost our composure,” Bensalem coach Dan Schram said. “It was a winning effort. When you get that bug of winning, you want to hold onto it.
“I said throughout the game – there’s a lot of ways to win. Even when we were down 2-0, we were playing a really good clean game against a very good pitcher. We were patient, and we were timely when we needed to be.”
There were heroes galore in the six-run seventh. Jessica Klein led off the inning with a single, and Angelia Micalizzi and Maddie Buechner followed with back-to-back singles.
“They were all kind of like bloops, and the bases were loaded,” Schram said. “With one out and the bases loaded – it was a very risky move on my part – I called a squeeze play.
“Chloe Munyon brought Jess Klein in on the squeeze play. They tried for the runner at home, and the catcher dropped the ball. Now we’re down 2-1, and Maggie Formichelli comes up to bat. She fouls off a bunch of balls, and it was one of those rare moments as a coach where I could call the shot. I took my hat off, took my glasses off and I looked to the side and said, ‘She’s going to hit one,’ and sure enough she did.”
After Formichelli gave Bensalem a 5-2 lead with one mighty swing of the bat, Haley Keenan stepped to the plate for her second at-bat since coming back from an ankle injury and smashed a home run on the heels of Formichelli’s slam.
“Haley Keenan hit a home run on the first pitch after the grand slam,” Schram said. “She started the day – she had a rehab start in jayvee, and she hit a home run in jayvee. She came up to varsity. I was contemplating bunting, but good thing I gave her the nod. Her first at-bat she ended up striking out, but she hit a couple of foul balls really, really hard. I just kind of knew she was going to come back really strong.”
The Golden Hawks did not go down quietly.
“There was a tremendous celebration, and then we get into the seventh – they got a couple of hits, they got a walk, Dani Walters hit one to the fence,” Schram said. “But we were able to hold and get the outs.”
Micalizzi’s three-hit performance led the Owls. For the Owls, Dani Sharpe had a double.
Sharpe also notched the complete game win, fanning two.
“She pitched great,” Schram said. “This was a very big win. We’re getting comfortable with each other. We have a very tight-knit group, and we’re just trying to stay grounded in reality. The reality is we have two more games this week, and we just want to keep playing and doing the best we can.
“It goes without saying – Frank Marino is a really good coach, and that’s a really good team, a good hitting lineup. I know they’ve had some really tough losses, but they’re going to be a team to contend with for the rest of the year.”
Bensalem (4-2, 2-2 SOL) will host Lansdale Catholic in a non-league game Wednesday, and Council Rock South (1-5, 0-3) will travel to Pennsbury on Thursday.

NESHAMINY 12, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (5 innings)
Kylee Jones had herself a day at the plate Tuesday, contributing a double, triple and four RBIs to lead a potent Redskin attack. Jones jump-started the Redskins with an RBI double in the first that plated Asia Barnard, who had singled. Her three-run triple highlighted a six-run fourth inning in the abbreviated contest.
“She’s a very good player,” coach Dave Chichilitti said of his sophomore standout. “We need a good player to protect Liana (Jones). That was a concern coming in. I knew that kid had the potential to do it, and she’s certainly doing well for herself.”
Barnard also was a tough out, finishing the day 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
“She’s playing very well,” Chichilitti said. “And we were lucky to have Liana Jones back today.”
Liana Jones, who missed several games because of illness, was 2-for with a pair of RBIs. Kylie Gurysh was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
All told, the Redskins pounded out 13 hits in the abbreviated contest.
“That’s a pretty good pitcher out there,” Chichilitti said of Jenna Khantzian. “We got ahead in the count and didn’t swing at her pitches. We were able to swing at our pitches and put the ball in play.”
Kennedie Ruth earned the win, allowing two hits and two runs while walking three and striking out two.
“Kennedie is a pretty good strikeout pitcher, and she only had two strikeouts today,” Chichilitti said. “She did a really good job of hitting her spots. She had a few walks early, but she didn’t walk anyone after the second inning and really focused in and really started to get things going then. She’s just a tough little competitor, the kind of player you just love to have, especially in that circle.”
“We only played five, but they put the ball in play. We just played pretty good defense.”
For the Indians, an RBI double by Hastings plated a first-inning run, and Julianna Shields singled to drive in a run in the fifth inning. They were the team’s only two hits.
Neshaminy (6-1, 4-1 SOL) will be on the road at William Tennent on Thursday, and Council Rock North (3-3, 1-3) will travel to Central Bucks West on Friday for a non-league game.

PENNRIDGE 2, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
Makenna Patterson scattered six hits in the complete game win, and leadoff batter Kylie Watson delivered a clutch two-out single in the second to plate a pair of runs, leading Pennridge to its first win over the Titans since April 23, 2013.
“This is huge,” coach Wendy Iadonisi said. “Our senior class has never beaten CB South.
“I think it’s just a great confidence booster. We’ve had some shaky outings, and just to play with the confidence they had today was so nice to see.”
The game started off on a promising enough note for the Titans when Alexa Ortman delivered a leadoff home run in the top of the first.
“We didn’t do anything after that,” coach Kevin Rosini said. “We’re just not hitting.”
The Rams scored the only runs Patterson would need in the second. Madison Silber led off the inning with a single, and after South ace Kylie Kenney struck out the next batter she faced, Mary Kate Levush drew a walk. Another Kenney strikeout set the stage for Watson, who delivered in a big way.
“We left people on in the first inning, which I thought our girls bounced back really well from,” Iadonisi said. “They came back in the second inning with some timely hits.
“Kylie just held her ground, knew what her job was and got that hit out in the gap to score both runs.”
The Titans threatened in the seventh. Nicole Pilla led off the inning with a single, and two outs later, pinch hitter Kate Hammond delivered a double.
“I’m thinking I’m sending the runner all the way, but I was waiting for a bobble – I needed a bobble,” Rosini said. “The center fielder didn’t bobble it. She just grabbed it in the gap and heaved it home. My runner would have been out.”
An intentional walk to Ortman loaded the bases, and Patterson collected the final out on a harmless popup.
Patterson allowed just six hits and one run while striking out eight and walking two.
“This is probably the most composure she’s had this season,” Iadonisi said. “She was letting the girls hit to our defense.
“Even when Alexa (Ortman) led off with that home run, she could have totally crumbled, and she held her ground and fought back. I think our girls feed off of that, and it really helps us on both sides of the ball. That was huge for us too.”
Gianna Iadonisi’s 3-for-3 effort led the Rams while Watson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Pilla collected a pair of hits to lead the Titans.
Kenney, who was charged with the loss, allowed eight hits and two runs.
Pennridge (4-1, 2-1 SOL) will be on the road at Souderton on Thursday. Central Bucks South (4-4, 3-1) will travel to Abington Friday for a non-league game.

SOUDERTON 15, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST (6 innings)
Katie Huber’s bases-clearing double highlighted a five-run first for the Indians, and the tone was set. The Indians put runs on the board in every inning in the abbreviated contest, pounding out 19 hits.
“The past week we’ve been talking about making adjustments at the plate,” coach Liz Parkins said. “Today everything came together.
“We were more aggressive, and all of our players made the necessary adjustments. It was really great to see the production from all of our players. Everyone contributed today.”
Huber finished a productive day 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs. Freshman Abby Burns reached first on all five of her trips to the plate, finishing 4-for-4 with a walk, four doubles and thee RBIs. Jen Klepfer was 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Riley York and Alina Skrzat were both 2-for-4 with a walk. Naila Neely was 2-for-4 with a double. Sam Nuneviller was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI and Julia Kistler was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Burns also notched the win in the circle, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out seven and walking none.
Souderton (4-2, 2-2 SOL) will host Pennridge on Thursday, and Central Bucks East (1-5, 0-4) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Wednesday.

ABINGTON 8, UPPER DUBLIN 3
Five days after falling to the Flying Cardinals 9-7 in a tightly contested game, the Ghosts exacted a degree of revenge, pounding out 15 hits and earning a split in the two-game series.
After plating a single run in the second, the Ghosts erupted for three runs in the third to go on top 4-0. Highlights of the inning included an RBI double by Julie Burkhardt as well as single by Samantha Marasheski, Kiersten Gant (RBI) and Alayna Gottemoller (RBI).
The Flying Cardinals got on the scoreboard with a run in the bottom of the fourth, but the Ghosts got that back in the fifth when Marasheski, who had singled, stole home.
In the top of the sixth, the Ghosts plated three more runs to go on top 8-1. Jess Sokolski laced a one-out triple to right, and she scored on Annie Sokolski’s RBI single. Burkhardt followed with an RBI triple to center, and a sacrifice fly by Marasheski pushed the final run across.
The Flying Cardinals scored two in the bottom of the inning but would get no closer than five.
Gant led the Ghosts’ hit parade with a perfect 4-for-4 effort that included a double, RBI and run scored. Marasheski was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, and Burkhardt was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Annie Sokolski was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored out of the leadoff spot.
Jess Sokolski earned the complete game win for the Ghosts, allowing four hits and three runs (all unearned) while striking out four.
Abington (2-5, 2-2 SOL) will travel to Wissahickon on Thursday, and Upper Dublin 6-2, 2-2) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Thursday.

After allowing a run in the top of the first, the Hatters scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to take a lead they would not lose en route to the mercy rule win. In the first inning, Alicia Tauber doubled to center to plate a pair, and Brit Hubler followed with a two-run home run to center.
Kendal Leitner hit a solo home run to lead off the second, and the Hatters were off and running.
Tauber finished a productive day 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Leitner was 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hubler was 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Kayla Tauber singled and drove in a run while scoring two out of the leadoff spot. Mikayla Fedele singled, drove in a run and scored a pair.
Fedele threw four innings, allowing three hits and one run (unearned) while striking out three and walking none. Leitner did not allow a hit in a scoreless inning in relief. She struck out three and walked two.
Hatboro-Horsham (3-3, 3-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East for a non-league game Wednesday, and Springfield Township (0-4) will be on the road at Upper Moreland on Thursday.

Freshmen Danielle Ciliberto and Bella Harris combined for a one-hitter. Ciliberto also had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Rory Goodrich was 3-for-4 with three RBIS.
Wissahickon (2-4, 2-2 SOL) will host Abington on Thursday, and Cheltenham (0-5, 0-4) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2, HARRY S TRUMAN 1
Sara Yoder notched the complete game win for the Bucks, allowing one run (unearned) on five hits while striking out one and walking two.
“She pitched a real nice game,” West coach Geoff Thompson said. “I have been wanting to get her some work. She really threw strikes and made them hit the ball and trusted the defense, so it worked out.”
In the bottom of the second, the Bucks scored their runs in a rather unorthodox manner. Abby Lineman and Ella Castronuovo, who both had singled, were on second and third with two outs.
“Abby was on third base, and they got her in a rundown,” Thompson said. “When they threw the ball back to the third baseman, it went off Abby’s helmet and went out of play. Abby and Castronuovo both scored.”
The Tigers scored their only run of the game in the third, capitalizing on a West miscue.That would be the extent of the scoring for both teams.
Castronuovo’s 2-for-3 effort led the Bucks, who had only six hits.
Central Bucks West (4-2, 1-2 SOL) will travel to Archbishop Wood for a non-league game Wednesday, and Harry S Truman (2-3, 2-1) will host Bensalem on Thursday.
