Kayla Yeager tossed a three-hit gem for the Colonials, allowing just three hits and one run (unearned) while striking out two and walking none.
The Colonials took a 1-0 lead in the third, and the Golden Bears knotted the score in the top of the fifth. PW’s four runs in the bottom of the fifth were more than enough for Yeager.
Jennifer Byrne had a pair of RBIs and scored a run for the Colonials. Josie Tassoni, Lauren Fuhrmeister (1-for-3) and Emma Carney each had one RBI for the Colonials, who managed just five hits off of freshman Jocelyn Baumeister.

UPPER MORELAND 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2
The Golden Bears had just six hits but plated three runs, enough to eke out a win and earn a split in Monday’s doubleheader.
“If you put four runs up in two games, you don’t think you’re getting away with any wins,” UM coach Scott Ludlow said.
Jenna Sadowski turned in a strong outing in the circle, allowing just four hits while striking out four and walking none. She allowed just one base runner after the fourth inning when the Colonials scored both of their runs.
“Sadowski pitched really well for me again,” Ludlow said.
In the Golden Bears’ two-run first, Maddie Mull legged out a bunt single, and Chloe Tice followed with a line single to the outfield that was misplayed, putting runners on second and third with one out. Mull beat the throw to the plate on Kim Benge’s grounder to short, and Brianna Byard followed with an RBI groundout that put the Golden Bears on top 2-0. They added a run in the third on Noelle Woodman’s sacrifice fly.

HARRY S TRUMAN 4, WILLIAM TENNENT 3
The Tigers earned a hard fought win over their former conference rival in Monday’s non-league contest.
“We have played three great games in a row defensively,” Truman coach Mike Klemp said. “We lost 2-0 to Pennsbury when Steph (Wolf) threw a two-hitter, and the following day we only had three hits against CR North.
“So to say we haven’t been hitting would be an understatement. Today we had timely at-bats, great base running and excellent defense.”
The Tigers had just six hits to Tennent’s eight, but they made the most of those hits, opening up a 2-0 lead in the second, and after the Panthers scored a run in the third, the Tigers plated two more in the fourth to go on top 4-1. The Panthers didn’t go down quietly, adding single runs in the fifth and seventh, but the Tigers held on for the win.
“We are really starting to jell and play great softball,” Klemp said. “Great defensive plays were made by Vanessa Tancini and Grace Pool. Christina Lyn Huhn had a game-ending doubleplay on a lineout to short where she wisely threw to first to end the game. Kailea Heston had to catch as our normal starter was too ill to play. She did a fantastic job.”
Tori Baskin was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI to lead the Tigers. Pool, Steph Wolf and Elle Olivero each contributed a double. Alyssa Morlando (1-for-2) and Sarah Soltis each had an RBI.
For the Panthers, Marissa Govan was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Caitlin Mitros was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Brianna Koonce was 2-for-3.
Wolf earned the complete game win, allowing eight hits and two earned runs.
Harry S Truman (3-10, 2-7 SOL) will travel to William Tennent (3-8, 2-5) for a rematch on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
