NESHAMINY 6, ABINGTON 1
The Redskins rebounded from Tuesday night’s disappointing loss to Pennsbury to defeat the Ghosts, scoring three runs in the first and never looking back.
Sophie Beretski once again had the hot bat for the ‘Skins. In the top of the first – after Mackensie Compton and Olivia Zaino drew back-to-back walks to open the game, the senior second baseman delivered an RBI double. The ‘Skins led 2-0 after Hunter Hart followed with an RBI single, and by the time the inning was over, the ‘Skins were on top 3-0.
The Ghosts plated a run in the bottom of the first, but Beretski’s two-run blast in the fourth put the Redskins on top 5-1. Compton had an RBI single in the fifth for the 6-1 final.
Beretski finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Hunter Hart was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Devan Mesciulli was 2-for-3. Amber Brugger was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Nicolette Ray contributed a double for the Ghosts.

HARRY S TRUMAN 5, BENSALEM 3
Maria Dea had quite a day for the Tigers, finishing 4-for-4 with a double and also earning the complete game win in the circle.
“Her hitting has really come together at the end of the season,” coach Kyle Hoffman said. “Maria is going out there every game, throwing complete games every game.
“This is her third game in a row this week without a single inning of rest, and then the kid goes 4-for-4, and she took an AP test today.”
Mary Cairns hit a double off the fence, and Steph Wolf broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning with a solo home run.
“We definitely needed a win,” Hoffman said. “Even being this far into the season and how we were playing the last couple of weeks, they still show up to play every day, and they battle in every game.
“We scored in the beginning of the game today, which we weren’t doing at the beginning of the year. We fought through and scored in the seventh to take the win.”
Harry S Truman (4-13, 3-9 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Thursday, and Bensalem (3-11, 1-9) will be on the road at William Tennent.

In a memorable night for Hatboro-Horsham’s senior graduating class, it was freshman Rachel Carney who stepped up for the Hatters. Rachel Carney went 3-for-3 on the day with three stolen bases and two runs. The Hatters were also led offensively by Brynn Griffith and Deanna Moyer who each recorded RBI doubles off the center field fence in the bottom of the sixth that upped the Hatters’ lead to 3-0.
Griffith also had an RBI double in the first inning, plating Carney with a run that put the Hatters on top 1-0. They led from wire to wire.
Kyleigh Dinnien (2-for-3) also had multiple hits for the Hatters.
The Hatters were sound defensively, recording only one error. Senior Kaeli Simmons celebrated Senior Night by pitching a complete game five-hit shutout, tallying up five strikeouts and walking just one. Congratulations to Hatboro-Horsham and Pennridge’s graduating senior classes as well as Hatboro-Horsham coach Joe DiFilippo, who – in his sixth year at the helm – notched his 100th win on Wednesday night.
Hatboro-Horsham (11-6, 6-6) will host Central Bucks East on Friday, and Pennridge (5-10, 2-9) will travel to Central Bucks West on Monday for their next league game.

QUAKERTOWN 7, NORTH PENN 3
The Panthers showed no ill effects from Tuesday’s heartbreaking loss to Central Bucks East, rallying for five runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined to take control of a close game.
“It was a great response because it was really a tough loss,” coach Rich Scott said. “My girls were really down after the game.
“I told them, ‘Keep your heads up. There’s another game tomorrow. You have to forget about this loss and move forward.’ You always worry as a coach how they’re respond, and they came through wonderfully.”
The Maidens put a single run on the board in the top of the first, sparked by singles from Katie Beer and Kariam Bou, but the Panthers answered with two in the bottom of the inning. Tara Baglivo and Megan Johnson both had RBI singles, but it was senior Spenser Gray – back in the lineup and making her presence felt – who lit the fire with a leadoff triple.
Gray finished the night 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
“That is awesome,” Scott said of having Gray back. “She led off today, and they’re playing for her to slap or bunt, and she crushed it over the left fielder’s head for a leadoff triple.
“Now the next time she’s up, they’re playing her back, and she laid it down towards third, and there’s no way they’re getting her out. When you can do that, that’s tough to defend. I’m glad I don’t have to defend that.”
The Maidens scored a single run in the third to knot the score 2-2, a tie broken in the fifth inning when Maddie Moyer – who continues to be an impact player as a freshman – delivered a two-run home run.
“The only position we graduated last year was catcher (Maddie Calder),” coach Rich Scott said. “During the offseason, it was – what are we going to do for a catcher. Maddie showed up at open gyms, and I said, ‘Okay, I think our catcher problem has been solved.’ She has stepped up big time.”
In the top of the sixth, the Maidens scored a run to make it a 4-3 game, but the Panthers answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning, sparked by a two-run triple from Baglivo and Meghan Klee’s sacrifice fly.
In addition to Gray’s three-hit effort, Baglivo was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run. Lauren Beal was 2-for-2 with a run scored, and Moyer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
Megan Johnson earned the win in the circle for the Panthers.

SOUDERTON 4, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
The Indians made the most of five hits and also capitalized on several West miscues, opening up a 3-0 lead after three innings.
Alex Scheeler limited the Bucks to just five hits in the complete game win, fanning three and walking none.
It was Scheeler helping her own cause in the first inning with an RBI single to give the Indians an early 1-0 lead. Savannah Bostwick opened the third inning with a single, and the Indians benefitted from a walk as well as a pair of errors to plate two more runs (both unearned).
The Bucks got on the board with a single run in the fifth, but Brianna Neely got it back with an RBI single in the sixth for the 4-1 final.
Angie Carty (2-for-3) was the only Indian with multiple hits. Neely, Bostwick and Scheeler each added one hit.
Souderton (9-5, 7-4) will host North Penn on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (7-9, 3-8) will host Central Bucks East Thursday.

The Flying Cardinals didn’t give the Trojans a whole lot of time to celebrate their first win of the season, exploding for 10 runs in the second inning to blow open Wednesday’s abbreviated conference game.
There were offensive heroes galore for the Cardinals. Erin Gallagher was 2-for-4 with two runs score. Her three-run home run highlighted the 10-run second inning. Sarah Sharp was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and triple, five RBIs and three runs scored in a productive day at the plate. Sarah Tannenbaum was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. She delivered a two-run double to ignite the Cards’ three-run first. Bela Soriano was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 5, WILLIAM TENNENT 4
The Titans, who fell behind 3-1, broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the sixth to earn the non-league win. Maddie Bieber delivered a two-run single in the sixth to give the Titans a lead they would not lose.
“We played well overall,” coach Dan Hayes said.
Alexa Ortman led the Titans with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate that included an RBI. Bieber finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBIs, including the game winner. Sophomore Mikaela Simons delivered a solo home run in the second to give the Titans a 1-0 lead that was erased when the Panthers scored three in the third.
For the Panthers, Jocelyn Flores, who reached base on all four trips to the plate, led the way with a 3-for-4 effort. Jackie Heim was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Panthers’ three-run third. Marissa Govan was 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot.
“The middle of their order is pretty tough,” Hayes said. “I’m glad we don’t have to play Heim twice in one year.
“She had a homer and single, and her third time up she flew out to deep center. Her last time up she hit one that was going out of the park and our girl caught it at the fence.”
It was sophomore Cassie Underkofler that robbed Heim of a second home run.
“She was backed up against the fence and caught it above her shoulder, so I guess it was going to go out,” Hayes said. “She actually got her jersey caught on the fence. We gave her a start today, and she got a hit and came up big with that catch.”
Alexis McConomy earned the win in the circle.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 9, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 7
Maddie Michvech is showing a flare for the dramatic. Twenty-four hours after delivering the game-winning hit in the Patriots’ come-from-behind win over conference-leading Quakertown, the junior first baseman hit a triple in the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie.
In a non-league game with power point implications for both sides, it was the Indians gaining the upper hand with four runs in the top of the first. The Patriots got one of those back in the bottom of the inning and then made it a 4-3 game with two runs in the third. The Indians answered with three more runs in the fourth to go on top 7-3.
East knotted the score with a four-run fifth that included an RBI single from Nicole Tracy to knot the score.
That tie stood until the seventh when the Patriots plated a pair.
Kayla Ventura – who earned the win – did not allow a hit in three scoreless innings in relief. She fanned three and did not walk a batter.
Ventura also had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Tracy was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Hailey Aspinwall was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Audrey LaBouliere and Theresa Haug both added a double for the Patriots, who pounded out 13 hits.
Central Bucks East (11-5, 8-4 SOL) will travel to neighboring Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Council Rock North (10-4, 8-3) will host Abington on Thursday.
