AVON GROVE 7, PENNRIDGE 6
Pennridge just ran out of time.
The Rams did not collect their first hit until Cassandra Schillo singled to lead off the fifth, and they got four of their six hits in the seventh inning when they scored and stranded a pair of base runners.
Pennridge got on the scoreboard with a single run in the sixth to make it a 4-1 game, but the visiting Red Devils scored three in the top of the seventh.
The Rams staged a valiant comeback in the seventh. Anja Puketza led off the inning with a single, and one out later, Anna Hensler drew a walk. A single by Regan Bauman loaded the bases. A hit batsman pushed a run across, and then Grace Helbling delivered an RBI single. Maddie Silber’s sacrifice fly plated a run to make it a 6-4 game, and Schillo’s RBI single pulled the Rams to within one, but that’s where the rally ended.
Helbling (2-for-3, RBI, 1R) and Schillo (2-for-4, RBI) both had a pair of hits to lead the Rams’ six-hit attack.
Pennridge (7-12, 5-10 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Rams are 26th in the latest District One 6A power rankings. Avon Grove is ninth.

WILLIAM TENNENT 11, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 4
In a contest that saw the two teams combine for 21 hits, it was the Panthers making the most of theirs to earn the non-league win.
Tennent got on the board in the first inning when Meg Curtis hit a solo shot to left field. In the second, the Panthers added three more runs. Mackenzie Clee led off with a single, and one out later, Curtis drew a walk. A sacrifice fly by Gigi Demito pushed a run across, and then it was Lainey Scotese ripping a two-run home run to left, giving the Panthers a 4-0 lead.
The Panthers scored six more runs in the fourth. Sarah Cummins led off with a single, and she scored one out later when Olivia Clee doubled. Mackenzie Clee’s double plated a run, and after a costly Ryan error, Curtis, Demito and Scotese collected back-to-back-to-back RBI singles. Katie LaPlaunt’s RBI double put the Panthers on top 10-1.
Mackenzie Clee (2-for-4, 2B, RBI, 2R), Curtis (2-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, 3R), Demito (2-for-3, 3B, 2 RBI, 2R) and Scotese (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, R) led the Panthers’ 11-hit attack.
Curtis notched the complete game win, allowing 10 hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out three and walking none.
William Tennent (11-4, 9-4 SOL) – 14th in the latest District One 6A power rankings – will travel to Cheltenham on Monday.
