PENNSBURY 13, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
Quinn McGonigle and Ainsley McClure teamed up for the seven-inning shutout. McGonigle did not allow a hit in two scoreless innings to start the
game and McClure, late because of an AP exam, threw five scoreless innings to close it out, allowing four hits while striking out nine and walking none.
The visiting Falcons broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth, plating all the runs they would need when Emma Hause delivered a two-out RBI single and Cynthia Ehrenfeld followed with an RBI single. For Hause, it was her first of two two-out RBI singles in the contest.
“I guess we made some adjustments, and we really hit the ball after the third inning,” said Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry, whose team pounded out 21 hits.
Caitlyn Martell was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, McGonigle was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, and Riley Mahony was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Rowan Mulholland also had a double.
Pennsbury (17-1, 15-0 SOL) – the number two seed in the District One 6A rankings – will travel to Council Rock North on Tuesday, and Council Rock South (4-14, 1-14) will host Harry S Truman on Tuesday.

WISSAHICKON 10, UPPER DUBLIN 3
Wissahickon celebrated its two seniors – Emma Clayborne and Charlotte Horvat – with a decisive win over their neighboring rival. Clayborne earned the complete game win in the circle, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking three.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the second and a single run in the top of the seventh.
“We traded a run for an out,” Wissahickon coach Mike Borkowski said of UD’s late run. “Except for the second inning runs, Clayborne was in control the whole game. She ended four innings with strikeouts.”
The Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first only to watch the visiting Cardinals answer with two runs in the top of the second.
“It looked like it was going to be a typical UD/Wiss game,” Borkowski said.
After the second, the game pretty much belonged to Clayborne and the Trojans, who scored runs in all six innings.
Clayborne also had a huge day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Katelyn Fitzgerald was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Sophomore Emma Dutill, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Luca Penna was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
“It was a nice team win,” Borkowski said. “We moved runners, scored 10 runs against a good pitcher and played pretty good defense.
“Now we move on to PW for another step in our quest for a home playoff game. Beating a good team like UD really gets us going. The girls are determined to beat these three good teams to end the season strong.”
For the Cardinals, Ally McDaid was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Chloe Foster, who threw five innings and absorbed the loss, recorded her 200th career strikeout. She fanned four and reached the milestone in just under two seasons.
Wissahickon (11-7, 11-4 SOL) will travel to Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday, and Upper Dublin (9-9, 7-8) will be on the road at Hatboro Little League Field for a division game against Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

HATBORO-HORSHAM 21, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 8
The Hatters trailed 5-0 after one inning and still found themselves on the short end of a 6-2 score after three innings. They scored five runs in the fourth, and once they started scoring, they didn’t stop, erupting for 19 runs over the final four innings.
The Titans’ five-run first was highlighted by a three-run double from Jamie Marks. In the top of the second, Kendal Leitner put the Hatters on the scoreboard with a one-out solo home run.
South still led 6-2 after three innings, but the Hatters scored five runs in the fifth and six more in the fifth. Tess Kearney’s two-run double was the big hit in the five-run fifth.
In the sixth inning, Kristen Myers singled, stole second and scored on Abby Waeltz’s one-out single. Marissa Rapino’s two-run single was followed by Kearney’s RBI double. Leitner put an exclamation point on the six-run outburst, smacking a two-run home run to left field that put the Hatters on top 13-6. For the Hatters’ junior ace, it was her second two home run game in as many outings, coming on the heels of the first two home run game of her career against Quakertown on Friday.
In an eight-run seventh, Kearney continued her torrid offensive showing with a two-run double. Myers (RBI) and Waeltz (2RBIs) singled in the inning, and Amaya Lundy hit a three-run home run to center.
For the Hatters, who collected 19 hits, Kearney’s 4-for-6 effort with three doubles, five RBIs and three runs scored led the way. Also coming up big were Kayla Tauber (3-for-6, RBI, R), Waeltz (3-for-4, 3 RBIs, 3R), Leitner (3-for-6, 2HR, 3 RBIs, 3R), Myers (2-for-5, RBI, 4R) and Rapino (2-for-5, 2 RBIs, 2R).
Alyssa Tooley threw four innings and notched the win. Leitner closed it out.
