HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 2
Alicia Tauber made Hatboro-Horsham’s Senior Night game under the lights at Deep Meadow Park a memorable one, laying down a bunt on a perfectly-executed suicide squeeze in the bottom of the sixth to plate the go-ahead run that stood as the game-winner.
“There’s always pressure when it’s a suicide squeeze because you have to get the bunt down, but I’ve done them before, and I told myself I was going to get this bunt down and I did,” Tauber said.
To open the sixth, Kendal Leitner drew a walk, and it was safe all around when Leitner avoided the tag on Megan Mills’ grounder to second. An error on Kayla Tauber’s infield grounder loaded the bases.
With one out and the bases still loaded, Tauber laid down the suicide squeeze that proved to be the difference in the game.
The final inning, however, was not without its share of drama. With one out, Megan Burns singled, and after Paige Paciolla drew a walk, the Crusaders had a pair on board for Mary Picozzi. All Picozzi had done was staked the Crusaders to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third when she delivered a no-doubt-about-it home run that plated a pair.
This time Picozzi hit a rocket that appeared heading for the gap, but Mills made a game-saving catch, spearing the line drive for the inning’s second out.
“Megan Mills came up clutch,” Tauber said. “I think everyone on the field was having a heart attack. She came up and saved all of our butts. I don’t think any of us could have been more excited. She was essential.”
Leitner collected the final out on a routine fly ball to Mills, and the win was in the books.
Leitner earned the complete game win, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out 12 and walking two.
“This was huge,” coach Joe DiFilippo said. “That’s a good team, a very good team. They beat Pennridge by 10 runs (14-4), and I can see how. That’s two good games we’ve played in a row – North Penn (a 1-0 loss) and tonight. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going.”
Kayla Tauber and Mills led the Hatters with two hits each.
Hatboro-Horsham (11-5, 9-2 SOL) – 17th in the latest District 1 6A power rankings – will host Cheltenham on Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 7, MOUNT SAINT JOSEPH ACADEMY 6
It wasn’t always pretty, but the Colonials – despite five miscues – escaped with a win. They won it with a four-run uprising in the bottom of the seventh that was capped when Lauryn Kane singled up the middle to plate the game-winner and give the Colonials the walk-off win.
“The girls did rally when it counted,” coach Dana Moyer said. “With two outs in the seventh, they walked our second and third batters (Jennifer Byrne and Gianna Fazio) to load the bases, which lit a fire in Lauryn Kane, who smoked a bullet on her first pitch up the middle for the win.”
Kamryn Kropinski also delivered a big hit in the four-run seventh – an RBI triple to deep left field. The Colonials also benefitted from a walk, a dropped third strike and a Magic error.
Earlier, the Mount opened up a 6-2 lead after a four-run fourth.
“Lauryn (Kane) struggled today, so I put senior Kayla Yeager in the fifth inning, and she shut them down,” Moyer said.
Yeager did not allow a hit in 2.1 scoreless innings to earn the win. Kane allowed six hits and six runs (all unearned) in 4.2 innings.
The Colonials pounded out 12 hits in the win. Kropinski (2-for-4, 3B, RBI, 2 runs), Byrne (2-for-3) and Kane (2-for-5, RBI) led the way at the plate.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (12-1, 10-0 SOL) will host Upper Dublin on Tuesday.

WILLIAM TENNENT 13, WISSAHICKON 1 (5 innings)
Hannah Reimel had herself a day. The Panthers’ junior shortstop was 3-for-4 with a home run, double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Only a triple separated her from the cycle in Monday’s abbreviated contest.
The fun started early for Reimel and her teammates. In the top of the first, Megan Curtis collected a one-out single and scored when Reimel doubled to center. Brianna Koonce reached base on a bunt single, and Reimel scored on Mackenzie Clee’s groundout. Devon Fithian followed with an RBI single, and the Panthers led 3-0.
The Trojans scored an unearned run in the bottom of the inning, but the Panthers got that back in the second, thanks to an RBI single by Reimel. The Panthers blew the game wide open with a nine-run third.
Highlights of the innings included a two-run single by Caitlyn Mitros, an RBI triple by Curtis as well as a two-run home run by Reimel. A walk to Koonce and a single by Clee set the stage for a three-run round tripper by Fithian that put the Panthers on top 13-1.
Curtis finished the day 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored. Fithian completed a productive day 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored.
All but lost in the shuffle of the Panthers’ offensive onslaught was the two-hit effort of Clee, who allowed one run in five innings (unearned) while striking out four and walking three.
William Tennent (8-8, 4-6 SOL) will be on the road at Neshaminy on Tuesday while Wissahickon (6-9, 5-6) will travel to Abington Tuesday.

INTERBORO 1, HARRY S TRUMAN 0
Hayley Carter pitched well enough to win on most days, allowing just six hits and one run in seven strong innings. She struck out six and walked two.
On this day, it wasn’t quite enough as the Tigers never could find their offense against Interboro pitcher Billie Kerwood, who allowed just two hits – singles by Chrissy Huhn and Alexia Devlin. She struck out 10 and walked only one.
Devlin collected a one-out single in the third, but a bunt double play brought an end to that potential threat. The Tigers managed just one hit the rest of the way.
Harry S Truman (7-9, 3-6 SOL) will be on the road at Bensalem on Tuesday. The Tigers are 25th in the latest District 1 6A power rankings – 24 teams will make the district field.
