COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 45, NEW FOUNDATIONS 43
Sparked by eight points – including a pair of treys – from Tyler Nowmos and seven points from Will Desautelle, the Indians jumped out to a 17-7 lead after one quarter and appeared to be well on their way to an easy win. They managed just 14 points in the next two quarters combined, and New Foundations took a 33-31 lead into the final quarter when the Indians dug deep and rallied for the win.
In the fourth quarter, Nowmos had five points, including a big three-pointer. Eric Levine buried four-of-five from the charity stripe, and Matt McAlister also had an important trey in the frame.
Desautelle led the Indians with 15 points while Nowmos added 13.
Council Rock North (1-0) will host Bristol in a non-league game on Wednesday.

The Knights fell behind early and spent the rest of the night playing catch up as Conwell Egan opened up an 18-5 lead after one quarter and never looked back. The defending PIAA Class AA champions led 36-20 at halftime and took a 50-27 lead into the final quarter.
JJ Melchior (17 points) and Matt Pickford (14 points) led the Knights.
North Penn (1-1) will host Central Bucks South in Friday’s SOL opener.

Girls
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 36, UPPER DUBLIN 32
The Patriots used a balanced scoring effort to defeat the Flying Cardinals and improve to 2-0 on the young season.
“It was a total team effort on both offense and defense,” East coach Liz Potash said.
East trailed 9-8 after one quarter but took a 15-14 lead into halftime and had a 24-21 lead heading into the final frame. They never relinquished their lead.
“I think this game shows how we’ve matured and grown since last year,” Potash said.
Bridget Birkhead led the Patriots with eight points while Bri Talbot had seven, and Megan Browne and Grace Stewart added six each.
Upper Dublin’s Allison Chernow led all scorers with 14 points. Demi Balasa added eight.
Central Bucks East (2-0) will travel to Lansdale Catholic for a non-league game on Thursday. Upper Dublin (0-2) will be on the road at Norristown for its SOL opener on Friday.

Haley Seifert stole the spotlight in the Hatters’ non-league win over the visiting Lions, collecting a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
“We always count on Haley for her hustle, rebounding and defense, but tonight she stepped up on offense and scored some big baskets for us,” coach Kathie Sims said.
The Hatters used a 10-3 second quarter burst to take a 23-15 lead into halftime. They saw their lead trimmed to 32-27 heading into the final quarter and then played the Lions even in the final quarter to earn the win.
Cassidy Quattro added nine points and seven rebounds while Julia Thornton (seven points, five rebounds), Kylie Wingen (seven points, five rebounds) and Erin Wingen (five points, four rebounds) also made important contributions. Bergen Sims added four assists.
Hatboro-Horsham (2-1) will travel to Souderton for Friday’s SOL opener.

NORRISTOWN 39, HAVERFORD 31 (Sunday, Dec. 6)
The Eagles captured the title of the Haverford Tournament, thanks to a 39-31 win over the host Fords on Sunday.
Norristown took an 11-6 lead into halftime after a low-scoring first half and led 22-18 heading into the final quarter when it almost duplicated its point total with a 17-point burst for the win.
Lauren Fortescue led a balanced attack with 14 points while Daijah James added 10 and Beyonce Collins had nine. Patti Fortescue contributed six points.
Norristown (2-0) will travel to Penn Wood for a non-league game on Wednesday.
