On a day that saw the two squads combine for 20 runs, the Owls saved their best for last, plating 10 runs over the final three innings.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 4, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3
Brian Klumpp called Wednesday’s come-from-behind win ‘the Kyle Rossi show.’ It was Rossi’s clutch two-out RBI single with runners on first and second that plated the game winner.
“Before his last at-bat, I turned to him and said, ‘Nobody better,’” Klumpp said. “He hit a single up the middle to score Chad Steinberg.”
Rossi finished the game 2-for-4, but that was just the top of the iceberg for the senior shortstop in his final regular season game as a Titan.
“He made great plays in the field, like always,” Klumpp said of his veteran infielder who has made just one error all season. “He made a tremendous play to cut down a run at home plate.
“The ball trickled toward second base – he picked it up and fired a strike to home plate and got the out on a bang-bang play.”
In the bottom of the first, a solo home run by Tyler Watson spotted the Titans a 1-0 lead, and they took a 2-0 lead into the fifth when the Patriots got on the scoreboard with a run. East went on top 3-2 in the top of the sixth, and that score stood until the bottom of the seventh. Will Moller’s sacrifice fly knotted the score, setting the stage for Rossi’s game winner.
“This was a huge win, which hopefully clinches a first round bye in districts for us,” Klumpp said.
Chris Palkovics – who threw the final two innings – earned the win relief, allowing one hit and two runs (unearned) while fanning one and walking one. Dan McCartin got the start and threw five innings, allowing four hits and one run. He struck out five and walked one.
“Dan McCartin threw five strong innings, which was good to see after he has battled some tightness in his back the past few weeks,” Klumpp said.
South’s Tyler Watson (2-for-3, RBI, run scored) and Rossi were the lone players with multiple hits.
For the Patriots, Tommy Mitchell, Aaron Holland and Adam Jozefiak each singled and drove in a run.
The Titans closed out conference play with an 11-3 record (13-4 overall).
“With this win, this team has the most regular season wins in CB South history,” Klumpp said. “I am so happy for this team and their accomplishments so far this season.
“Their hard work is paying off, and I am excited for the playoffs.”
Central Bucks East closed out its season with a 7-12 record overall (2-12 SOL).
