The Knights trailed 7-1 at halftime and appeared heading for a certain defeat, but Tanner Nelson did his part to make sure that wouldn’t happen, winning 10-of-12 face-offs in the second half to give the Knights the possessions they needed to stage a remarkable comeback.
Matt Rinck did his part as well, turning away 18 shots in goal for the Knights, who trailed 4-0 after one quarter and saw the deficit grow to six by the intermission. The Knights outscored their visitors 5-0 in the third quarter to make it a 7-6 game and then closed it out with a 4-2 final frame for the dramatic win.
The list of contributors was a long one for the Knights, who received a goal and three assists from Reece Udinski. Danny Payne and Eric Diamond both had two goals while Nick Keim had one goal and two assists. Stephen Rinck and Max Lehrman both had one goal and one assist. Nic Conroy and Nelson each had one goal.

The Knights lost a heartbreaker to the visiting Bears in a non-league game.
“Again, it comes down to playing fundamentally well, which we continue to struggle with for an entire game,” coach Heather Mellow said. “We had 20 turnovers and several unnecessary fouls.
“I know we have a good team – we just need it all to click. On the flip side, Kate Winstanley had a great game in the net. She improves immensely day after day.”
Winstanley recorded 15 saves in goal for the Knights, who found themselves deadlocked with the Bears at the intermission.
Julia Keffer and Bri O’Donnell led the attack with four goals each. Keffer also had an assist. Kaitlyn Phifer had one goal and three assists while Kelly Macnamara and Kristin Varilla each had one goal. Victoria Brauenle had two assists.
North Penn (3-4, 1-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Wednesday.
