Check out the recaps for SOL boys/girls lacrosse teams in action on Monday.

Boys
ABINGTON 6, PENNSBURY 5
The Ghosts used a standout defensive effort in Monday’s non-league contest to earn their second win of the season.
“We’ve obviously had a tough start to our season, but no one’s given up, and the guys continue to work hard,” coach Peter Burns said. “A hard fought back and forth game that we end up on top was really rewarding for the guys, and it was well deserved. It came at a great time.”
Abington goalie Connor Reed led the defensive charge with a brilliant 16-save effort – seven of those came in the fourth quarter. He also was credited with two ground balls.
“For a kid that has had a bunch of phenomenal games in his career, this was definitely one of his best ones,” Burns said. “From start to finish, he played the perfect game.
“He really kept us in it, and having a low-scoring game, it definitely takes a team grinding it out.”
Burns went on to laud the effort of his entire defense.
“Even in our blowout losses, it really hasn’t been them,” the Ghosts’ coach said. “Kevin Fitzgerald, who’s a sophomore, played really well. He had a performance that isn’t going to show up in the stats, but he did all the little things.
“Sean Donohue, a freshman who’s been starting for us all year, had an extremely solid game, and long poles Joe Lindley, Casey Hesdon and Sean Wink – those five guys rotate through the whole game, and Nevin Baer, our short stick ‘D’ middie.”
The Ghosts and Falcons were deadlocked 2-2 after one quarter, but the Ghosts used a 2-0 second quarter to go on top 4-2 by halftime. The Falcons made it a 5-4 game after one quarter, but the Ghosts held on for the win.
