QUAKERTOWN 9, PENNRIDGE 1
Lauren Beal capped a remarkable regular season by hitting her 13th home run in 20 games, this one a two-run shot to right center field during a six-run uprising in the second inning.
The win put the finishing touches on a regular season that could go in the program’s record books for most wins in a season with 17.
“It was great,” coach Rich Scott said. “I told the girls – this is a warm-up for us going into the playoffs. Let’s get the win and move forward to the playoffs.
“It was a big win for us, especially after they beat North Penn yesterday.”
The Panthers scored a single run in the first when Tara Baglivo, who tripled, scored on Nikki Vanelli’s RBI single. In addition to Beal’s two-run blast in a six-run second, the Panthers also received singles from Halle Frederick, Sarah Stolik, Bri Leftkoski (RBI), Tara Baglivo (RBI) and Vanelli (RBI).
“That was huge,” Scott said of his team’s offensive explosion in the second. “It helps your defense, it helps your pitcher, it helps the whole team.”
Baglivo was 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot. Maddie Moyer was 3-for-4 with a double, and Sarah Stofic was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Vanelli was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
“The defense is playing so well, the hitting is so good and the confidence is there,” Scott said. “It’s just great. The girls are playing really well.”
Tori Caputo earned the complete game win in the circle, allowing five hits and one run while fanning three and walking none.
Logan Scott led the Rams at the plate. She was 2-for-3 with a triple and run scored.
Kailyn Bell absorbed the loss.
Quakertown (13-1 SOL) closed out its regular season with a 17-3 record, and Pennridge (6-6 SOL) is 11-9.

NESHAMINY 15, NORTHEAST 0
Julianna Tosti tossed a impressive complete game shutout. The Redskins’ junior allowed just two hits in seven innings while fanning 10 and walking none.
The contest was highlighted by Hunter Hart – who was 3-for-4 with a triple – reaching the 100-hit milestone.
“She epitomizes everything that I want in a Neshaminy softball player,” coach Dave Chichilitti said. “Obviously, she played on some really good teams, but you play 20 games – you get a hit a game, that’s only 80.
“We’ve been successful. You have to advance to get some extra games, and you’ve got to be a really good hitter, and she was. For four years, she was an incredible player.”
Hunter joins Sam Offenback and Sarah Snider-Leonhauser as the only players to reach that milestone during Chichilitti’s seven-year tenure at the helm.
“That’s great company to be in,” the Redskins’ coach said.
The SOL National Conference champions (12-0 SOL) closed out the regular season with a 17-2 record.
BOYERTOWN 4, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
One day after clinching a share of the SOL Continental Conference title, the Titans could not find their offense in Wednesday’s non-league game at Boyertown. They managed just two hits, and Maddi Bieber, who was 1-for-3, drove in the Titans’ only run.
Central Bucks South (10-2 SOL) closed out its regular season with a 14-6 record.
