PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 6, PENNCREST 0
The Colonials were without four starters for Saturday’s non-league contest, but their teammates were happy to pick up the slack. Ten different players put their names on the score sheet for contributing either a goal or an assist in the no-doubt-about-it win. All but one of the goals had an assist.
“It was the most complete team effort this year,” coach Jeff Heaton said.
Gavin Hendrick turned a Jacobe Sandcroft pass into a goal five minutes into the contest, and 10 minutes later, Max Lubas made it a 2-0 game, using a Gavin Hendrick assist.
That score stood until the 48th minute when Alex Lefkowitz (Stephen Longo assist) found the net. Evan Elgart added a goal with an assist from Sam Cohen in the 58th minute, and in the 68th minute, Andrew Stricklin scored with a Brandon Cohen assist. Connor Smith’s unassisted goal on a free kick from 20 yards out in the 78th minute gave the Colonials their final margin of victory.
Goalkeeper Blake Rosen had two saves in the shutout.

CUMBERLAND VALLEY 1, NESHAMINY 0
Cumberland Valley, according to coach Tom Foley, capitalized on one of the Redskins’ few mistakes to score the game’s only goal.
“We lost an individual battle on the right side of the field which created a numbers up situation, and CV capitalized,” the Redskins’ coach said. “We controlled the majority of the play but could not find the net.
“The second half was the same as the first. We controlled the midfield and created some opportunities.”
It looked as though Matt Leonhauser had tied the match in the 46th minute, but the goal, according to Foley, was called back on a mysterious off-sides call.
“We continued to pressure, Leonhauser hit the post and we had a few more near misses,” the Redskins’ coach said. “We played well enough to win, but the breaks did not fall our way. We’ll get back to it Monday and prepare for a hot CR North on Tuesday.”
Foley lauded the standout efforts of several players.
“Chase Rider continued his strong play in the back, and Eric Clayton and Mike Mandia also played solid games,” the Redskins’ coach said.

The Falcons overcame the heat and the visiting Whippets to earn their fourth straight shutout and sixth in seven games. Goalkeeper Kerry Phillips recorded one save in the shutout.
“I can’t say enough about our defense for preserving another shutout,” coach Kaitlyn Battiste said. “Ella Palmieri battled through some contact to stay out on the field.
“The defenders really enjoy getting the stops and take pride in their roles.”
Eva Ciaccia scored the only goal the Falcons would need in the 24th minute, using a Jenna Peters assist. That 1-0 score stood until Rosie Bostian turned a Christine Cataldo-Smith pass into a goal in the 68th minute.
“I think we did a nice job as a team today managing the heat and taking care of the ball,” Battiste said. “I was happy with how Gabby Zealot and Riley Young controlled the middle of the field, and Evie and Rosie finished two great opportunities in front of the net.”
