Pennridge and Upper Moreland picked up wins in SOL boys’ basketball action on Monday.

UPPER MORELAND 57, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 38
The night started out on a promising note for the Spartans, who raced to a 20-9 lead over their hosts after one quarter. Things changed in a hurry in a second quarter that saw the Golden Bears answer with a 21-2 tear to go into halftime with a 30-22 lead. The Spartans managed just 18 points over the final three quarters while the Golden Bears scored 48.
Ryan Coyle’s 19-point effort led the Golden Bears. Jake Villanueva also finished in double figures with 13. Brett Brossman and Beau Woollens each added nine points, and Christian O’Donnell had six.
For the Spartans, Quentin Johnson led the way with 16. Ben Rittenhouse added eight and Ray Ebner had six. Rittenhouse and Ebner both buried a pair of 3-pointers.
Upper Moreland (8-7, 4-4 SOL) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday, and Springfield Township (2-11, 0-9) will be on the road at Cheltenham Tuesday.

PENNRIDGE 67, SOUDERTON 60
Sean Yoder had a big night in Pennridge’s win over its neighboring rival on Monday. The junior point guard led all scorers with 25 points, which included a pair of threes and a 9-for-10 effort at the foul line. Tyrese Lewis (16 points) and Jake Pestrak (12 points) also finished in double figures for the Rams.
Pennridge opened up a 17-10 lead after one quarter, but the Indians trimmed that to four by halftime, 25-21. The Rams took a 48-40 lead into the final quarter on their way to the important win.
The Indians also had three players finish in double figures. Trevor Watts led the way with 15 points, and Tomas Hanrahan added 14. Andrew Vince had the hot hand from beyond the arc, burying four 3-pointers for 12 points on a night that saw the Indians connect on eight threes.
Pennridge (11-4, 4-2 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South on Tuesday, and Souderton (5-10, 2-5) will be on the road at Central Bucks East.
