Check out the recaps for SOL girls’ basketball teams in action on Saturday.

Non-league
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 66, MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 41
Becca Margolis reached a personal milestone when – five minutes into Saturday’s game – she nailed a 3-pointer that vaulted the senior point guard to the prestigious 1,000-point plateau.
Margolis finished with 14 points, and the Indians – less than 24 hours removed from a big win over Neshaminy – earned a no-doubt-about-it win.
“We played great,” coach Lou Palkovics said. “Pre-game, I was telling them, ‘Listen, I know last night was a great win, but you lose today and watching the Eagles game tomorrow isn’t as much fun.’
“It was 15-2 when Becca (Margolis) hit that three. She hit that three from six feet beyond the 3-point line.”
By the end of the first quarter, the Indians led 24-7, and they took a 37-12 advantage into halftime, dispelling any concerns that there might be a letdown after the preceding night’s win.
Margolis finished with 14 points to go along with six steals and six assists. Dana Bandurick had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also had two blocked shots and five assists.
Mackenzie Tinner led all scorers with 15 points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals. Olivia Boyle added eight points and four steals.

GREAT VALLEY 38, WISSAHICKON 35
Trailing by as many as 11 in the third quarter, the Trojans rallied to knot the score by the end of the third quarter and led by two late in the fourth only to watch the Patriots rally for the win.
“It would have been huge (to win), and that’s why it hurts so much,” said coach Rodney Cline, whose team trailed 26-19 at halftime. “They made every shot – they shot 50 percent from the field. Our shooting percentage was at 24 percent into the half.”
The Trojans came to life in the second half, outscoring the Patriots 11-4 in the third quarter.
“The girls ramped up defensively,” Cline said. “Our first four minutes of the second half is the time we come out – we recharge our batteries and we come out focused even more. From Victoria (Selverian) to Bri (Tilghman), Anna Schools, collectively as a team, we just played as a unit and ramped up the energy.
“We forced 24 turnovers – 16 in the second half, so we ramped it up. We were scoring in transition. They play a zone, so it slows our game down, but we continued to attack the basket. Some things didn’t go our way. We got a shot off with seven seconds to go. We were inbounding the ball underneath the basket. We got a shot off. It went in and out, and we lost.”
Briana Tilghman led the Trojans with 12 points. Carly Fadel had eight and Sydney Ott, seven points.
Wissahickon (9-11, 8-4 SOL) will host Upper Moreland on Tuesday.

JENKINTOWN 58, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 46
The Golden Hawks came up short in Saturday's non-league game against Class 1A powerhouse Jenkintown.
"I've been around boys and girls high school basketball for a while, and some of the best teams in the state are in smaller classes," coach Blair Klumpp said. "When you have a strong culture and build from the lower levels and have girls that play together for years, it translates to the high schooll level.
"They're a good team that returned five starters from a good run last year. He (coach Jim Romano) has done a great job of sustaining success, and his girls deserve a lot of credit. We made several runs tonight and got stops and scores, and they just eventually answered with a shot any time we got within arm's length."
The Drakes led 16-12 after one quarter and took a 38-23 lead into halftime. The Hawks outscored the Drakes 23-20 in the second half.
"We did a great job on the backboards, especially from the second quarter on," Klumpp said.
Bailey Vetter led the Hawks under the boards with 10 rebounds. Emma Jones and Allison McGowan had eight each. Claudie Steinmetz had five rebounds.
"We got out in transition and played our tempo," Klumpp said. "We struggled from the foul line (9-for-24), and that hurts in a game that was a seven-point game with over a minute left with the ball.
"I have been preaching playing four quarters of effort no matter the score, and we did that tonight. The positives are there to move forward and build on if we choose to do so. It won't be measured in wins and losses, but there are some foundation pieces of building a successful program from a work ethic and effort standpoint.
"We have three games left, and I'd like to see the effort and approach continue to trend upward in those games."
Nicole Blaustein (13 points) and Steinmetz (10 points) led the Golden Hawks. Hannah Binder had eight points, and Allison McGowan had seven points.
Jenkintown's Jen Kremp led the Drakes with 22 points.
"She's a nice player," Klumpp said. "She's known as a good shooter, but she's really good all around.
"I was happy with how we competed for four quarters this game. They were 18-1 (now 19-1), they're a very good team and well coached. People get caught up in classification, but to me that stuff is overblown."
