NESHAMINY 12, INTERBORO 11
Nick Donato scored during an extra-man situation off a feed from Mason Zeberlein with 1.8 seconds remaining in regulation to give his team the dramatic non-league win.
Neshaminy rallied from a 7-2 halftime deficit to take an 11-10 lead with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Interboro tied the game with 50 seconds left before a slashing call gave Neshaminy a man advantage for the final 11 seconds.“We spin it once and Mason Zeberlein gets the ball in the ally,” said Neshaminy coach Curt Zeberlein of the sequence that set up the game winner. “He doesn't shoot, steps behind the goal and feeds Nick Donato on the right wing. Nick never misses that shot, hitting the top of the net, just over the goalie’s stick.”
Donato, Zeberlein, Noah Weiman, and Dawson Obringer each scored two goals for Neshaminy while Gabe MacIvaine, Connor McVey, Ryan Maher, and Luke Sermarini added one goal each. Zeberlein contributed three assists, Donato and McVey two each.
Obringer and Weiman each collected six ground balls, Zeberlein and John Hughes four each, Donato, Corey Renman, and Preston Backhouse three each, MacIvane, McVey, Garrison Toto, Sermarini, and Douglas Lang two each, Maher, Joe Arden, and Chris Quinlan one each. Obringer won seven faceoffs and Hughes two.
Neshaminy (3-0) will travel to Roman Catholic on Tuesday.
