BASEBALL
Matt Reinert (Souderton) doubled and scored in Wilkes University’s 8-5 win over FDU-Florham in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday. In Wilkes’ 7-4 win in game two, Reinert was 2-for-3 with two runs. In Friday’s 8-6 win over FDU-Florham, Reinert was 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs. In last Saturday’s 13-6 win in game two of a doubleheader split with Manhattanville, Reinert was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. In last Friday’s 16-15 loss to Manhattanville, Reinert was 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.
Jared Melone (North Penn) was 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBIs and a run in No. 17 West Chester’s 12-5 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep. Justin Horn (Upper Dublin) doubled and drove in a pair. In West Chester’s 8-4 win in game two, Melone was 1-for-2 with three RBIs. In West Chester’s 4-3 win over Millersville in game two of a twinbill split, Melone had two hits and an RBI.
Lackawanna College freshman Thylar Summarell (Souderton) was named the EPAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 8. Summarell batted .600 in the five games Lackawanna played. He had 12 hits in 20 at bats with three doubles and two home runs. He scored eight runs and had 11 RBIs. Summarell walked three times and recorded a stolen base. His OBA was .652 and his slugging percentage was 1.05. The team won four of those games while only losing one.
Summarell was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored in Lackawanna’s 9-5 win in game one of a twinbill sweep of Mercer County Community College on Saturday. In game two, Lackawanna rallied from a 12-2 deficit to earn a 13-12 win. A two-run single by Summarell knotted the score 12-12.
Freshman Andrew Mayhew (Pennridge) logged three shutout innings to earn the win in relief in Millersville’s 6-2 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday. In Millersville’s 4-3 win over Mansfield in game two of a twinbill split, Mayhew went four innings, striking out three, walking two and allowing five hits and three runs.
Colin Kennedy (Hatboro-Horsham) matched his career high by going six innings in La Salle’s 5-4 win over Massachusetts on Saturday. The H-H graduate allowed only two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. In last Saturday’s 4-3 loss to Fordham, Kennedy started and struck out five over four innings.
Danny Long (Pennridge) hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to tie the game in Monmouth University’s 8-7 win over Niagara on Sunday. In Saturday’s 6-1 win at Niagara, Ricky Dennis (Central Bucks South) threw seven shutout innings to earn the win, allowing four hits while striking out two and walking two. He did not allow a leadoff man to reach base all day. In Monmouth’s 8-5 win in game two, Joe Molettiere (Pennridge) picked up his first save of the year and fifth career save. In Wednesday’s 10-3 win over Seton Hall, Long singled and drove in a run, extending his reached base streak to 12 games. In Tuesday’s 7-6 loss to Rutgers, Molettiere struck out two in a scoreless inning of relief. It was his first appearance since March 31. In last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Sacred Heart, Dan Klepchick (Central Bucks South) allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out nine and walking none but was not involved in the decision. In Monmouth’s 7-3 win over Maine that same day, Dennis earned the win, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) with eight strikeouts and two walks in seven innings. In Monmouth’s 3-1 win over Penn, Long delivered a two-run single in the sixth inning to give MU the lead for good.
Freshman Eric Gross (Central Bucks South) was 3-for-4 with one RBI, Jerry Scavone (Neshaminy) was 2-for-4 and Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) homered and drove in a pair in Ursinus College’s 12-6 loss to Johns Hopkins on Saturday in game one of a twinbill. In Friday’s 9-7 loss to Swarthmore, Usowski was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored and Gross also had a pair of hits. In Wednesday’s 12-10 loss to Penn State Brandywine, Usowski’s 5-for-6 effort with a double and three RBIs led the Bears and included the 100th hit of his collegiate career. Scavone singled and drove in a run. In Tuesday’s 13-12 loss to Swarthmore, Usowski (2B, RBI, run), Scavone (2B, 3 RBIs, run) and Gross (RBI) were all 2-for-5. In last Saturday’s 15-1 win over Gettysburg in game one of a doubleheader split, Usowski (2-for-3, 2B, 3 RBIs, 3 runs), Scavone (1-for-3, 2 RBIs, run) and Gross (1-for-3, 2 RBIs) all contributed. In the Bears’ 11-7 loss in game two, Gross was 3-for-4. In the Bears’ 6-6 tie with Franklin & Marshall after 14 innings, Usowski was 3-for-6 with a double, home run, three RBIs and run scored.
Freshman leftfielder Josh Kim (Council Rock South) extended his streak of reaching base safely to 16 straight games in Villanova’s 4-3 loss to Butler last Saturday. The Rock South graduate was 2-for-5 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot.
Junior Colton Hooker (Upper Moreland) was 2-for-4 with a home run, RBI and run scored in Bloomsburg’s 6-5 come-from-behind win over Lock Haven in game two of a twinbill sweep Saturday. In the Huskies’ 15-8 win in the opener, sophomore Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. In Wednesday’s 8-4 win over Slippery Rock in game two of a twinbill sweep, Swiger doubled and drove in a run and scored twice. In the Huskies’ 12-5 win in the opener, Swiger was 3-for-5 with two runs and Hooker singled and drove in a pair of runs. In last Saturday’s 10-6 win over Mansfield in the opener of a twinbill sweep, Swiger was 2-for-4 with a grand slam and three runs scored. In the Huskies’ 9-0 win in the nightcap, Swiger was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored, and Hooker tripled and scored a run.
Anthony Rigous (Council Rock North) hit a walk-off solo home run to propel IUP to a 9-8 comeback victory over Clarion last Saturday. It was his second home run of the day – Rigous also hit a home run in IUP’s 9-7 win in game one of the doubleheader sweep.
Shaun Stackhouse (Council Rock South) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in Cabrini’s 21-3 win over Clarks Summit.
Brennan Snyder (Central Bucks West) launched a three-run home run and Mike Christy (North Penn) hit a solo shot in Elizabethtown’s 6-1 win over Susquehanna in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Elizabethtown’s 12-9 loss in game two, Nike Bein (Abington), a defensive substitution at first base, contributed an RBI single. Christy also had an RBI single. In Tuesday’s 17-6 non-conference victory at Lebanon Valley, Bein contributed an RBI double and Christy had a pair of hits, including a double. In Elizabethtown’s 11-6 win at Lancaster Bible, Christy had three hits and three RBIs. In Elizabethtown’s 13-5 loss to nationally-ranked Shenandoah, Brennan and Christy each drove in a pair of runs. Christy had three hits in the game. In the Blue Jays’ 6-4 loss to 24th-ranked Catholic, Christy was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Snyder singled and drove in a run.
Senior Patrick Kelley (Central Bucks West) allowed five hits and two runs in six innings but was not involved in the decision in Chestnut Hill’s 3-2 loss to Felician on Friday. In last Sunday’s 9-6 win over Dominican, Kelly allowed six hits and two runs while fanning six and walking three in five innings of work. Billy Bethel (Pennsbury) threw the final four innings in relief to earn the win.
Brett Guaglionona (Abington) had an RBI double and Ryan McCarty (Pennsbury) contributed an RBI single in Penn State Abington’s 8-0 win over SUNY Cobleskill in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Thursday’s 9-1 win over Cairn University, sophomore John Matthews (Harry S Truman) earned the complete game win, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out nine. McCarty had a pair of hits, an RBI and run scored. Kyle Marshall (Pennsbury) had an RBI. In game one of last Saturday’s twinbill sweep of Cazenovia, McCarty was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBIs and two runs. Marshall was 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, one RBI and three runs scored. In the Nittany Lions’ 25-4 win in game two, McCarty was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. Marshall was 3-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and three runs. Guaglionona doubled, drove in a pair and scored twice. In last Friday’s 8-1 win over Wells in game one of a twinbill sweep, McCarty was 2-for-3 with three runs. In the Nittany Lions’ 28-7 win in game two, McCarty had a pair of hits, including a double. In the Nittany Lions’ 8-6 win over John Jay, McCarty dominated at the plate, coming up just short of the cycle with a home run, double and single. He had two RBIs. Matthews picked up his first win of the season with three strikeouts. In the Nittany Lions’ sweep of Gallaudet, McCarty had three hits, including a double and triple, and also had four RBIs.

Jeremy Hefele (William Tennent) allowed just two earned runs over six innings but was hurt by three errors in Delaware Valley’s 7-2 loss to DeSales University on Saturday.
DeSales University freshman Ian Kacergis (Pennridge) was named the MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 8. Kacergis turned in an impressive four-hit complete game (seven-inning) shutout in a 7-0 win over Manhattanville. Kacergis struck out three and walked none. He allowed just five base runners and only one runner reached second base.
Kacergis earned the win in DeSales University’s 7-2 win over Delaware Valley University in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out three in six innings.
Jake Goldberg (Pennsbury) earned the win in Jefferson University’s 4-2 win over Dominican on Sunday, allowing just two hits, no walks and striking out three in six innings. Timothy Brodhag (William Tennent) doubled and scored a run. In Saturday’s 5-4 loss to Concordia in game one of a twinbill split, Brodhag was 2-for-5 with a double and run scored. In Friday’s 5-4 win in nine innings over University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Brodhag was 2-for-4 with a double, stolen base and two RBIs. In the Rams’ 5-3 win in game two, Brodhag was 2-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base. In last Saturday’s 23-5 win over Caldwell in game two of a twinbill sweep, Goldberg picked up the win as he started and lasted 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts. He allowed just two runs as he earned his first win since his freshman season in a game against Lincoln (Pa.) on April 4, 2015. In the Rams’ 9-4 win over the University of the Sciences, Brodhag was 3-for-5 with a double, triple, two runs and an RBI. In the Rams’ 3-2 win over USciences in nine innings in game two of the doubleheader, Goldberg, Daniel Sabath and CJ Kilgarriff (Council Rock North) combined for 4.2 scoreless innings in relief.

WOMEN’S GOLF
Ursinus junior Rebecca Chiger (Abington) carded an 83 to finish one shot out of medalist honors in her season debut at the Bears’ annual spring invitational. The junior’s successful match helped the Bears match Muhlenberg with a team tally of 370 – just three strokes behind Alvernia for the team title. With Chiger back in the fold, Ursinus posted its lowest score of the season by 24 strokes. In the Muhlenberg Invite, Chiger, fresh off her second place effort in her season debut, shot a 91 to finish fourth overall. She had a birdie on the par-3 seventh hole and recorded four pars. In Saturday’s Centennial Conference championship, Chiger was tied for 13th with a 94. She birdied the par-4 seventh hole.
MEN’S GOLF
Temple freshman Dawson Anders (Souderton) shot a two-over 73 to pace the Owls in the first round of play at the 2018 American Athletic Conference Championship in Palm Harbor, Fla. Anders is tied for 16th overall, just three shots back of the leader, Cincinnati’s Davis Baxter (70).
Senior Clay Anders (Souderton) shot an 84 and tied for 24th at the Jefferson University Invitational at the ACE Club on Wednesday. Cabrini battled a deep field of Division II and III teams and cold and windy conditions to earn a sixth place finish. In the second round of the Rosemont College Invitational, Anders led the Blue and White, posting an 80 for a two-day total of 158 to finish in an 18th place tie in the field of 72 players at the Downingtown Country Club. At the Rutgers University-Camden Scarlet Raptors Spring Invitational, Anders posted a round of 80 to tie for seventh in the 46-player field.
Penn State Abington freshman Shane Nocito (Harry S Truman) led the Nittany Lions with a score of 76 at the Jefferson Golf Classic on Wednesday. In the Nittany Lions’ tri-match against Jefferson University and the University of the Sciences, Nocito finished in fifth place overall with a score of 85. In the Scarlet Raptor Invitational hosted by Rutgers Camden, Nocito finished tied for second place with a score of 76.
La Salle freshman David Kim (Upper Dublin) shot a 75 on the final day of the Wildcat Invitational. He closed the tournament at 153 and in a tie for 64th.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Sean Fechter (Pennridge) contributed two goals in Eastern University’s 19-7 win over Wilkes on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 13-8 win at Manhattanville, Fechter had four goals, one assist and two ground balls. In Eastern’s 11-3 win over Misericordia, Fechter had two goals, one assist and three ground balls.
Sophomore Evan Scott (Upper Dublin) scored a goal in Ursinus College’s 6-4 loss to Haverford on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 18-9 loss to Franklin & Marshall, Scott turned a caused turnover into a goal. He finished the game with one goal, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Junior goaltender Riley White (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had three saves, six ground balls and two caused turnovers in No. 8 Cabrini’s 18-2 win over Marywood on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 16-6 win over Gwynedd Mercy, White earned the victory, recording five saves. In last Saturday’s 21-0 win over Centenary, freshman Brian Hood (Hatboro-Horsham) won five of his six chances on face-offs and also had three ground balls.
Princeton sophomore Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the
week ending April 15. In Princeton’s wins over Siena and Dartmouth, Sowers had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. His week started with a three-goal, five-assist performance in a 17-11 win over Siena and ended with a three-goal, seven-assist performance against Dartmouth in a 24-13 win. Sowers played basically three quarters of both games. The seven assists and 10 points were career highs, and he now has five games of at least nine points in his first 26 career games. Every other player in Princeton history combined has 17 such games and no one else has done it more than three times.
Sowers– one of 17 players named to the USILA Player of the Year Watchlist – had a goal and six assists in Princeton’s 15-10 victory over Harvard on Saturday. The Upper Dublin graduate is now Princeton’s single-season record holder for assists with 54, and he also has 79 points for the year, second best in a Princeton season behind only himself after his 82-point freshman year. Sowers leads Division I in assists per game and points per game.
Rookie Matthew Rinck (North Penn) saw his first action of the season in goal and turned in four saves in Gwynedd Mercy’s 21-4 win at Keystone on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 16-6 loss to Cabrini, Jacob Snavely (Central Bucks South) scored three goals, including a man-up tally. In last Saturday’s 7-5 win over Marywood, Snavely scored one goal. In the Griffins’ 14-5 win at Neumann, Snavely had a pair of goals.
Anthony Paone (Central Bucks South) won 13-of-16 face-offs in Widener’s 7-6 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 22-0 win over Alvernia, Paone was a perfect 13-for-13 on face-offs.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Freshman Kate Ziegler (Pennridge) totaled a career-high 10 points in Elizabethtown’s 16-1 win at Juniata on Saturday. The Pennridge graduate’s 10-point game (five goals, five assists) was just the 18th in team history. In Wednesday’s 18-11 loss to Moravian, Ziegler registered her ninth hat trick of the season. Abby Kopytko (Council Rock North) had 10 saves. In Elizabethtown’s 19-13 loss to Scranton, Ziegler had three goals and Kopytko stopped eight shots. In Elizabethtown’s 14-11 loss to Albright, Ziegler had a hat trick. Kopytko recorded nine saves.

Makayla Bowman (North Penn) scored a pair of goals in Kutztown’s 11-10 loss to Seton Hill on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 14-8 loss to Millersville, Bowman had a hat trick in the first half and finished with four goals. In KU’s 7-6 overtime loss to Slippery Rock, Bowman had four goals, all in the second half.

In Wednesday’s 10-5 win over Vanderbilt, junior Amber Lambeth (Souderton) had two goals and Rodzewich added an assist. Riley Greenleaf (Springfield Township) had a goal and three ground balls in IUP’s 11-9 loss to Bloomsburg on Saturday. In IUP’s 20-7 road win over Gannon, Greenleaf had a goal and two ground balls.
Freshman Allison Felicetti (Upper Moreland) contributed six goals and three assists while her sister Melissa Felicetti (Upper Moreland) added three goals and two assists in Penn State Abington’s 21-6 win over Hilbert on Saturday. In last Sunday’s 18-6 loss to SUNY Poly, Allison Felicetti had a goal and two assists.
Freshman attack Sam McGee (Abington) connected for three goals in St. Joseph’s 16-9 win over George Mason on Sunday. In Friday’s 11-10 win over George Washington, McGee had one goal and one assist.
Senior Allison Fugate (Pennridge) scooped up a career-high 10 ground balls – the most by a Raider in a single game since the 2011 season – in Shippensburg’s 11-6 win over Edinboro on Saturday. Fugate also paced the offense with a hat trick – her second of the season and the sixth of her career. Junior Kyra Shank (Souderton) scored a goal. Freshman goalie KiKi Brasher (Abington) made eight saves in her seventh victory of the season in goal. She has made at least eight saves in 12 of the team’s 15 games this season. In Tuesday’s 19-11 loss to East Stroudsburg, Brasher recorded 11 of her 17 saves in the first half and denied ESU five times on free position shots. Fugate and Shank both scored twice. In the Raiders’ 17-9 loss to No. 11 West Chester, Shank netted a hat trick and had an assist. Fugate added one goal while Brasher recorded eight saves and collected three ground balls.
Maggie Stella (Central Bucks East) scored five goals in No. 9 West Chester’s 17-7 win over No. 23 Lock Haven on Saturday. Emily Schulze (North Penn) had a pair of goals. In Tuesday’s 21-6 victory over Bloomsburg, Stella contributed three goals and three assists for six points. In last Saturday’s 17-1 rout of Edinboro, Stella scored four goals. In West Chester’s 17-9 win over Shippensburg, Schulze scored four goals.
Senior Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) contributed three goals, six assists, seven draw controls, three ground
balls and two caused turnovers in Keystone College’s 20-19 win over Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday. Hawkins ranks eighth in the CSAC in goals per game (3.55), second in assists (2.55), second in points (6.09) and eighth in shots (6.82). In Tuesday’s 19-9 loss to Marywood, Hawkins had one goal and six assists and became the first player in Giants’ history to record 200 points. Hawkins recorded the historic point with 1:01 remaining in the first half with an assist on sophomore Savanna Robinson’s goal. In last Saturday’s 22-17 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland, Hawkins had five goals and four assists. In Keystone’s 20-0 victory over Cedar Crest, Hawkins had six goals and four assists.
Hannah Reape (Upper Dublin) had a pair of goals in Ursinus College’s 21-5 win over Bryn Mawr on Wednesday.
Senior Samantha Ryder (Pennridge) scored three goals and also had three draw controls and two caused turnovers in Jefferson University’s 25-7 conference victory over Post on Saturday. In Thursday’s 10-0 win over Felician, Ryder recorded her 100th career point. The Pennridge graduate recorded one goal, three assists and had three draw controls. In Monday’s 25-11 win over Dominican, Ryder scored four goals and had a game-high nine draw controls. In last Saturday’s 17-11 win at Caldwell, Ryder had a goal and an assist and also had 13 draw controls. In the Rams’ 23-5 win over Nyack, Ryder recorded two goals. In Jefferson’s 24-4 win over Holy Family, Ryder scored a game-high five goals and added an assist to go along with a game-high nine draw controls.
Victoria Braeunle (North Penn) notched 10 points on six goals and four assists in Gwynedd Mercy’s 20-19 loss at Keystone on Saturday. The North Penn grad’s 10 points was one shy of a program single game mark. Goalie Nicole Wood (Gwynedd Mercy) recorded 10 saves. In Tuesday’s 24-14 loss at Immaculata, Braeunle scored seven goals. The freshman’s seven tallies were tied for third most in a game in the all-time program record books and a season high. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 17-6 win over Bryn Mawr, Braeunle had five goals and four assists to total nine points. She also had eight draw controls and five caused turnovers.

Katelyn Reiss (Bensalem) contributed a pair of RBI singles in Cairn University’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of Marywood University on Saturday. In last Saturday’s 3-1 win over Clarks Summit in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Reiss was 1-for-2 with an RBI. In Cairn’s 15-7 loss to Cabrini, Reiss singled and drove in a run.
Penn State Abington junior Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 8. At the plate, Dougherty helped the Nittany Lions to three wins, including a series sweep of SUNY Poly. The junior had a .571 average with eight hits, seven RBIs and three runs scored. After having a setback against SUNY Cobleskill in game one, Dougherty energized the Nittany Lions to a 12-0 shutout in the second game. The junior pitcher was instrumental in the doubleheader against SUNY Poly with two doubles and a solo home run to sweep the Wildcats.
Dougherty had a pair of hits, including an RBI triple, in Penn State Abington’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of Penn State Berks last Saturday. In the Nittany Lions’ 3-1 loss to the College of St. Elizabeth, Dougherty had a solid outing in the circle, allowing only two earned runs while striking out six batters. In game two of the twinbill, a 5-4 loss to St. Elizabeth, Dougherty was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs and Jackie McMenamin (Upper Dublin) also was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored. In the Nittany Lions’ 7-5 win over Gallaudet in game one of a twinbill sweep, Caitlin Brasier (Harry S Truman) was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, four RBIs and one run. Dougherty was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and McMenamin was also 2-for 4. In the Nittany Lions’ 10-1 win over Gallaudet in game two, Brasier was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. McMenamin was 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and two runs, and Dougherty was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run. In game one of a twinbill sweep of SUNY Poly, Dougherty was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and Brasier hit a triple. In a 7-5 win in game two, Dougherty was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, RBI and run scored. McMenamin was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Taylor Marinelli (Central Bucks South) was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in St. Joseph’s 10-6 win over Penn on Wednesday.
Villanova senior Nikki Alden (William Tennent) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for back-to-back weeks ending April 9 and April 15. For the week ending April 9, Alden had 12 hits, including a double and triple with three RBIs in her game against Delaware State. In the BIG EAST three games against St. John’s, she compiled an average of .500 with four hits, including two doubles and five RBIs. For the week ending April 15, Alden had 10 hits, including a combined four hits in a doubleheader against Lafayette. Half of those hits were doubles. In the BIG EAST three games against Providence, she compiled an average of .750 with six hits that included two doubles.
Alden singled and scored a run in Villanova’s 4-0 win over Georgetown to complete a season sweep on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 5-2 win over Morgan State in eight innings in game two of a doubleheader split, Alden was 2-for-4 with a run scored. In last Saturday’s 5-2 win over Providence in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Alden was 3-for-4 with a double, and in the Wildcats’ 3-2 win in game two, Alden was 2-for-2 with a run scored. In the Wildcats 13-11 win over Lafayette in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Alden was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Jamie Gosselin (Abington) had five hits and stole three bases in Widener’s doubleheader split with Lebanon Valley on Wednesday (7-9, 7-5). In Widener’s 4-2 win over Eastern in game two of a doubleheader sweep, Sydney Powell (Neshaminy) earned the win, tossing the final four innings. She retired the first nine batters she faced.
Sophomore Jovanna Alfonsi (North Penn) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in Jefferson University’s 4-1 win over Goldey-Beacom in game one of a doubleheader split Friday. In last Saturday’s 11-0 win over Nyack in game one of a twinbill sweep, senior Erin Maher (North Penn) was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs. Alfonsi had a pair of RBIs.
Senior Hailey Warner (Central Bucks South) became the fifth player to record 200 career strikeouts in
DeSales University’s 8-1 win over Delaware Valley in game one of a doubleheader sweep Saturday, pitching seven innings and allowing just six hits and one run while striking out 10. In last Saturday’s 10-2 win over Misericordia, Warner earned the win, allowing three hits, one earned run while striking out two in five innings.
Sophomore Meghan Klee (Quakertown) reached base in all four of her plate appearances in Shippensburg’s 8-7 loss to Shepherd in game one of a doubleheader split.
Sara Keeny (William Tennent) and Cheyenne Jones (Harry S Truman) both had two hits in Kutztown’s doubleheader sweep of Shippensburg on Saturday (4-2, 5-3). Keeney now has 48 hits this season, fourth in the PSAC, and is also fifth in batting average (.429) and eighth in on-base percentage (.476). In Friday’s doubleheader split with Millersville (4-5, 12-4), Keeny had five hits and scored three runs in the two games. In KU’s 5-4 loss in game one, Jones hit a solo home run, her third of the season and second in five games. In last Saturday’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of West Chester (3-5, 7-9), Keeny was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and her PSAC-leading 20th steal in game two. In KU’s doubleheader split at East Stroudsburg (8-6, 5-6), Keeney finished the day 4-for-9 (.444) with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Jones also had four hits on the day, going 4-for-6 with a double and a home run. She also added two RBIs and two runs scored.
Junior Jackie Bilotti (North Penn) had a pair of hits in Arcadia’s 8-1 win over Messiah in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Tuesday’s twinbill sweep of Misericorida (5-3, 10-3), Bilotti was 6-for-8. In Arcadia’s 5-3 win in game one, Bilotti was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and in game two, Bilotti was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. In last Saturday’s 13-2 win over Lycoming in game two of a twinbill split, Bilotti was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Junior Casey Boltersdorf (Pennsbury) earned the win in Holy Family’s 13-3 win over the University of the Sciences in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Thursday. The Pennsbury graduate allowed five hits and two runs in four innings, striking out two and walking three. In Holy Family’s 5-4 win over Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday, Boltersdorf earned the win. In last Saturday’s 7-1 win over Concordia, Boltersdorf went the distance, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out four.
Freshman Michela Coleman (Wissahickon) was 3-for-3 for her first multi-hit game in Ursinus College’s 3-2 loss to Haverford on Tuesday in game one of a doubleheader. In the Bears’ 4-2 loss in game two of the twinbill, freshman Alyssa Myers (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 with a double.
Becki Christoffers (North Penn) was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI in Gwynedd Mercy’s 7-3 win over Cedar Crest in a contest that was resumed Wednesday after a rainout on March 30. Her two runs scored gave her 101 for her career, making her the fourth player in program history to eclipse the century mark. In Gwynedd Mercy’s 7-2 win over Keystone, Christoffers knocked in a pair of runs.
Marissa Alpaugh (Pennsbury) doubled home a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to propel Cabrini to an 8-7 win over Immaculata in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In Cabrini’s 11-9 win in game two, Alpaugh was 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs and a run scored. In game one of a twinbill sweep on Friday, Victoria Hall (Bensalem) hit a two-run home run – her first homer of the season – in Cabrini’s 19-0 win over Notre Dame of Maryland. In the Blue and White’s 13-0 win in game two, Alpaugh hit a grand slam – her fourth home run of the season – and also had an RBI double. In last Saturday’s 10-2 win over Rosemont in game one of a twinbill sweep, Alpaugh was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and three runs. In Cabrini’s 10-0 win in game two, Hall was 2-for-4 with a run scored. In last Friday’s 12-0 win over Cairn in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Alpaugh was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored, and in the Blue and White’s 15-7 win in game two, Alpaugh was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hall doubled and scored two runs.
Freshman Devan Masciulli (Neshaminy) had her sixth multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-4 in Millersville’s 7-3 win over Pitt-Johnstown in game one of a doubleheader sweep Wednesday. In Millersville’s 10-2 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a twinbill sweep last Saturday, Mascuilli went 2-for-3. In the Marauders’ 6-1 win in game two, Mascuilli singled and drove in a run.
Jackie Heim (William Tennent) was 2-for-4 with a two-run single in La Salle’s 10-8 win over George Washington last Sunday. In last Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore (7-4, 7-3), Lauren Morell (Bensalem) had four hits and one RBI.

Elizabethtown senior Mitch Schlegel (Souderton) captured the only first place finish for the Blue Jays on Saturday at the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College, capturing first in the 200m with a time of 22.75. In last Saturday’s Messiah Invitational, Schlegel finished second in the 400m with a time of 49.88.
Holy Family sophomore Connor Irwin (Hatboro-Horsham) finished fourth overall in his first running of the 10,000m run at the Mason-Dixon Invitational, posting a time of 36:41.25. At the Osprey open last Saturday, freshman MJ Powlowicz (Harry S Truman) set a new personal best in the 200m dash, finishing in 52.82 seconds. Irwin recorded a new personal best time of 2:11.75 in the 800m.
Saint Joseph’s sophomore David Bryant (Upper Dublin) cruised to new PRs in both the 100m (11.20) and 200m (22.57) at the 2018 Widener Invitational on Friday. Bryant earned a ninth place finish in a field of 80 in the 200m and added an 11th place showing in the 100m field of 76. Last Saturday at the 2018 Rider Invitational, Bryant was part of Saint Joseph’s first place 4x100m relay in an IC4A qualifying performance that led the Hawks to a third place team finish in a field of 10 squads.
Shippensburg freshman Austin Howell (Pennridge) paced the field in the 400m with a time of 50.14 at the SU Mid-Week Invitational on Wednesday.
Ursinus freshman Riley Grourke (Pennridge) beat his PR in the javelin by more than 10 feet with a throw of 148-2 at the Moravian Coach P Invitational last Saturday. Sophomore Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) recorded a clocking of 24.62 in the 200m dash. At the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Meet, freshman Griffin McMann (Pennridge) was fifth in the shot put (45-00.50).
Gettysburg freshman Dylan McKeever (Central Bucks East) finished sixth in the mile with a time of 4:37.98 at Gettysburg’s own Mason-Dixon Invitational on Saturday.
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Joe McCoy (Neshaminy) earned a spot on the CSAC Honor Roll for the week ending April 15 after his performance at the Messiah Multi and Invitational. He was second in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying mark of 13.27 meters, also a top CSAC mark. He also hit a PR in the 100m, running a wind-aided 11.42 in the prelims and later an 11.50 in the finals to finish seventh. McCoy also placed sixth in the long jump (6.17).
McCoy was part of Gwynedd Mercy’s 4×100 relay that ran a season-best 43.48 at the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. The time is also the second best in the CSAC so far this season. At the Griffin Mid-Week Twilight Meet, McCoy was part of the 4×100 team that posted a time of 44.22 to finish second.
La Salle graduate student Fran Ferruzzi (Upper Dublin) finished 17th out of 35 finishers in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 14:46.15 at the Larry Ellis Invitational.
Widener junior Sean Stovall (Springfield Township) finished first in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.65 at the Chester Quarry Classic last Saturday. Andrew Crosby (Cheltenham) was third in 59.23.
Kutztown All-American student-athlete Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) was honored as one of 12 recipients of the 2018 Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Award. Raguz was presented a copper medal in the category of noteworthy achievement in athletics. The Chambliss Student Academic Achievement Awards were established through a generous gift provided by Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss, who served as a member of the KU faculty from 1970 until 2003. The purpose of the awards is to recognize the exceptional individual achievements of a select group of senior students as their careers at Kutztown draw to a close. Raguz is a two-time national qualifier and 2017 All-American second team performer in pole vault. He is a five-time All-Atlantic Region honoree and a four-time All-PSAC selection. He ranks fourth in school history in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault. His best mark is 16-5.25 from last year. He finished 12th at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships, 13th at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships and finished in the top five in five of his seven career PSAC Championships. Outside of track, Raguz is the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President. He is a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and has been selected to the Coaches All-Academic Team.
Raguz won the pole vault with a career-best 16-6 at the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. The height improves Raguz’s fourth best all-time mark in school history and is both an existing NCAA provisional mark and existing PSAC qualifying height. Obi Ogbonna (Harry S Truman) finished second in the 110m hurdles with a season-best and PSAC qualifying time of 15.27. He was 11th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.70m (41-8.00). Ryan Benner (Pennridge) finished eighth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.59. Teagon Fortna (Central Bucks West) was 22nd in the 800m with a time of 2:07.13. Tommy Oliver (Bensalem) was third in high jump with a PSAC qualifying jump of 1.90m (6-2.75). At last weekend’s Bison Outdoor Classic, Raguz finished third in the pole vault, the best Division II finisher in the field of 26. He cleared 15-9 for the second time this year, an existing PSAC and NCAA Provisional mark. Benner ran his best 100m dash of the year, winning his heat in a season-best 11.15 seconds to qualify for PSACs for the first time this season in the 100m. He finished 14th overall. Cameron Christopher (Wissahickon) was fourth in his heat in the 800m and 47th overall in a time of 1:56.78, also an existing PSAC mark. Ogbonna won his heat of the 110m hurdles and finished sixth overall with a season-best and PSAC qualifying time of 15.54. He finished 24th in the triple jump with a new PSAC qualifying mark of 12.88m (42-3.25). At the Mondschein Multi last weekend, Oliver finished sixth in the gold portion of the decathlon, finishing with 5,364 points in his first career Mondschein Multi. His highest finish of the day was fourth in the 1500m in 5:00.97 for 554 points.
Bloomsburg’s Austin Kline (Central Bucks West) placed third in the 400m dash with a PSAC qualifying time of 49.46 at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday. Alex Moran (Pennridge) hit the PSAC qualifying mark in the 110m hurdles for the first time this season, tying a personal best time of 16.05 to finish sixth overall. He also got under the conference standard in the 400m hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 56.69 and a ninth place finish. At the Shippensburg Invitational on Wednesday, sophomore Matthew Hart (Pennsbury) finished second overall in the hammer throw with a personal best and PSAC qualifying mark of 52.98 meters, shattering his previous best of 49.25 meters he set at Johns Hopkins two weeks ago. Hart also took sixth in the shot put with a PSAC qualifying mark of 13.56 meters. Moran placed fifth overall in the 400m hurdles in a PSAC qualifying time of 56.75.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Holy Family junior Jaclyn Timoney (Council Rock South) finished sixth in the high jump event, tying her season best with 1.43m at the Mason-Dixon Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday. Charnel Williams (Pennsbury) recorded a distance of 10.19 to finish ninth in the shot put. She also finished ninth in the discus throw with a distance of 29.79m. In last Saturday’s Osprey open, Williams finished 10th overall in the shot put with a new personal best distance of 34-11. Timoney finished 10th in the high jump with a height of 4-7.
Lebanon Valley junior Hannah Kramlik (Pennridge) finished second in the 3,000m steeple chase with a time of 12:26.40 at the Messiah Multi and Invitational last Saturday. The time punched her ticket to MACs.
Ursinus freshman Rachel Coleman (Wissahickon) was part of the fourth place 4x400m relay that posted a season-best 4:11.52 at the Widener Invitational on Saturday. It is good for fourth in the Centennial Conference. Molly Rodebaugh (Central Bucks West) logged a PR in the 100-meter dash (14.11). In last Saturday’s Moravian Coach P Invitational, Coleman was impressive in her 400m dash debut, logging a 1:02.17 to land just outside the 10 best times in the conference this season. At the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight meet, Coleman was part of the second place 4x100m relay that posted a conference-leading mark of 51.44. Junior Riley Engel (Council Rock North) finished third in the 1500 with a time of 5:08.75, only .17 seconds off her personal best.
Shippensburg junior Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) won the steeplechase with a PSAC qualifier of 12:23.69 at the SU Mid-Week Invitational on Wednesday. Senior Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) finished third with a PSAC qualifying time of 59.26 in the 400m dash and finished sixth in the 200 (26.66). Sheehan was also part of the first place 4x100m relay (47.51) and 4x400m relay (4:11.08).
Gettysburg junior Danielle DeMichael (Central Bucks East) took second in the 800 (2:25.62) at Gettysburg’s own Mason-Dixon Invitational on Saturday. In last weekend’s Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell, DeMichael posted a time of 2:29.52 in the 800.
Monmouth junior Allison Taub (Council Rock South) posted an ECAC Championship mark of 46’1.25” en route to winning the shot put at the Monmouth Mid-Season Make-Up Meet on Sunday. At the Virginia Challenge, Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) was part of the 4×400 relay team that finished in 3:49 to qualify for the ECAC Championships. Taub finished seventh in the shot put with a mark of 47’1”. At last weekend’s Bison Outdoor Classic, Stratz posted an ECAC qualifying time in the 1500m with a time of 4:34.24.
Duquesne junior Shannon Taub (Council Rock South) finished second in the high jump (1.64 meters) at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday.
Gwynedd Mercy junior Sara Gray (William Tennent) set a new mark in the high jump at the Greyhound Invitational hosted by Moravian on Saturday. Gray cleared 1.60 meters, which is a program outdoor record. She currently also owns the indoor record (1.68 meter). The mark ranks her sixth in the NCAA Mideast Region and first in the CSAC. She is also ranked in the top 50 in all of Division III. In last Saturday’s Messiah Multi and Invitational, Gray hit a PR in the high jump and an ECAC qualifying mark (1.58 meters) to place second in the event. At the Griffin Mid-Week Twilight Meet, Gray won the high jump in a ‘jump off,’ turning in a top mark of 1.50 meters.
La Salle senior Kaitlin Poiesz (Central Bucks South) finished 14th in the 1500m at the Larry Ellis Inviational with a time of 17:19.64. At the Temple Owls Invitaitonal, Poiesz finished 15th in the 1500m.
Kutztown sophomore Olivia Morano (Quakertown) finished fourth in the hammer throw with a personal best 41.61m (136-6) at the Greyhound Invitational on the campus of Moravian College Saturday. She finished fourth in the discus with a new PSAC qualifying mark of 35.13 (115-3). At last weekend’s Bison Outdoor Classic, Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished 14th in the 5000m with a season-best time of 18:41.16.
West Chester senior Emily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) was named the ECAC Division II Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 15. Magnant captured first in three different events to help West Chester win the Chester Quarry Classic. She began her day as a member of the first place 4×100 relay team as well as the 4×400 relay team. Magnant won the 200m dash with a time of 25.27, a PSAC qualifying mark that puts her less than one second away from an NCAA Provisional Qualifying Mark.
Magnant finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.42 at the All-American Meet at East Stroudsburg on Saturday. In Wednesday’s Shippensburg College Invitational, Courtney Taylor (Central Bucks South) finished ninth in the 100m dash (12.74), and in the 200m dash, Taylor finished seventh with a time of 26.81. At the Mondschein Multi at Kutztown, Carolin DiJosia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) narrowly missed a top 10 finish in the heptathlon with 3,722, good enough for 12th place.
Bloomsburg freshman Kathleen Stevenson (North Penn) hit a PSAC qualifying mark for the first time in the 200m dash with a time of 25.65 and a ninth place finish at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday. At the Shippensburg Invitational on Wednesday, Stevenson finished with a season-best and PSAC qualifying mark of 5.49 meters in the long jump.
