MEN’S BASKETBALL
Damian Washington (Upper Moreland) scored a team-high 19 points to go along with nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot in Delaware Valley University’s 84-76 road victory over FDU-Florham on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 86-74 loss to DeSales, Washington contributed 14 points and nine rebounds. In Del Val’s 74-64 loss to Misericordia, Washington scored 11 points, which included three three-pointers.
Senior Andre Mitchell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored a season-high 30 points, including 28 in the second half and the 1,000th point of his career, to lead Catholic University to a 78-74 Landmark Conference victory over Susquehanna on Saturday. Mitchell, who went 11-of-11 from the free throw line, posted his second career 30-point game while adding five assists and six rebounds. He finished three points shy of his career high set in a win against Gallaudet on Dec. 16, 2017. Mitchell is the 45th player in program history to score 1,000 points. he scored his 1,000th career point on a three-pointer with 8:34 remaining in the second half. The PW graduate is currently ranked 44th on the team's career scoring list with 1,016 points in 96 games. The senior guard is averaging 12.7 points a game and is leading Catholic in minutes played.
Freshman Jack Clark (Cheltenham) finished with 14 points, including a 4-for-8 showing from the field, in La Salle’s 71-64 loss to St. Louis last Saturday. In La Salle’s 69-63 loss to VCU, Clark had six rebounds to go along with nine points.
Freshman Jesse Rivera (Central Bucks East) contributed eight points, four assists and two rebounds with no turnovers in 17 minutes in Cairn University’s 103-91 win over Bryn Athyn last Saturday.
Evan Slone (Souderton) contributed 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in Arcadia’s 78-51 win over Lycoming on Friday night. In Wednesday’s 73-66 win over Widener, the Knights’ 11th straight win, Will Derr (Upper Dublin) contributed seven rebounds off the bench. In last Saturday’s 67-75 win over Messiah, Slone finished with nine points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. In Arcadia’s 89-57 win over Lebanon Valley, Slone pulled down a team-best six rebounds and also had three blocks and a pair of steals.
AJ Catanzaro (North Penn) scored a career-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with four rebounds in Lebanon Valley’s 89-57 loss to Arcadia on Wednesday.
Junior Tracy Simsick (Souderton) scored a career-high 34 points to lead DeSales University to its ninth straight win, 92-62, over Manhattanville College on Wednesday. Simsick tallied the seventh most points in a game in DSU history, shooting 13-for-23 from the field and hitting six three-pointers. Mike Bealer (Souderton) added seven points. In last Saturday’s 86-74 win over Delaware Valley, Simsick led all scorers with a game-high 23 points and also added three blocks. In the Bulldogs’ 97-85 win over Wilkes, Simsick scored 26 points and added six boards. Bealer had nine points, two rebounds, one block and one steal.
Senior guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 20 points in Moravian’s 79-75 loss to Drew University on Wednesday. The PW graduate moved into a tie for eighth with 1,348 points.
Junior Riley Thompson (Council Rock North) had 10 points and five rebounds in Ithaca’s 75-66 loss to Skidmore College on Saturday. In Friday’s 82-79 loss to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Thompson tallied 24 points on 8-of-16 attempts. In last Saturday’s 71-58 win over Clarkson University, Thompson scored 15 and was 8-of-11 at the free throw line. In Ithaca’s 78-61 win over RIT, Thompson scored 19 points.
Senior Zack Muredda (Pennridge) was a force on the defensive end, picking up four steals in Ursinus College’s 91-60 win over Gettysburg on Wednesday. Muredda has 15 steals in the last three outings, giving him the conference lead with 39 steals. He also recorded seven points and six assists. In last Saturday’s 62-60 win over Franklin & Marshall, Muredda proved that veteran players make game-changing plays in crunch time. With the Bears down 60-57, Muredda buried a difficult, contested three-pointer from the left wing to knot the game with 26 seconds left. On the following possession with a chance for the Diplomats to deliver a game-winning dagger in the final seconds, he read a pass from the wing to the top of the three-point line, intercepting the feed, leading the fast break the other way in which he was fouled in the act of attempting a layup. Muredda drained both free throws to put the Bears up 62-60 with three seconds to go. His steal and free throws capped off a career-high 15-point performance with eight rebounds and four steals. In the Bears’ 66-57 loss to Johns Hopkins, Muredda had seven steals.
Shaw University junior Amir Hinton (Abington) earned both CIAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for
the week ending Jan. 13 after totaling 95 points, including a week-high 35 points against Virginia Union where he shot 28-of-32 from the free throw line (a career high). Hinton continues to lead the CIAA and Division II in scoring (32.4). Additionally, Hinton racked up 13 rebounds, 12 assists and six steals during the three-game week.
Hinton finished with a game-high 31 points, including 9-of-10 shooting from the free throw line to go along with seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in Shaw’s 97-68 win over Bluefield State University on Saturday. In Shaw’s 87-70 win over Lincoln on Monday Hinton scored 23 points (14-of-14 at the free throw line) and also had eight assists. In last Saturday’s 90-77 loss to Bowie State, Hinton scored a game-high 34 points that included a 14-of-15 effort at the free throw line. He also had four assists, four rebounds and two steals. In Shaw’s 92-79 loss to Virginia Union, Hinton scored 35 points, including a career-high 28-of-32 made free throws. He also had six rebounds.
Anthony Lee (Abington) scored a game-high 37 points and added eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in Kutztown’s 84-64 win at Mansfield on Wednesday. The Abington grad connected on 6-of-7 from beyond the arc in the first half with his only miss a heave from three-quarter court at the buzzer. The redshirt senior is just 27 points away from 2,000 for his career. In last Saturday’s 100-85 loss to Shippensburg, Lee poured in a game-high 39 points and added six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 39 minutes. In KU’s 87-48 win over Edinboro, Lee finished with a game-high 20 points. He was one rebound and three assists shy of his first-ever career triple double, recording nine rebounds and seven assists to go along with two blocks and a steal. He shot 4-for-4 from the free throw line and leads the PSAC at 91.2 percent on the season.
Matt Penecale (Abington) had 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field in West Chester’s 75-66 win over Lock Haven on Friday. It is the Golden Rams’ seven straight win.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Bridget Birkhead (Central Bucks East) scored 11 points in Mount St. Mary’s 84-53 win over Central Connecticut on Monday. In the Mountaineers 68-66 loss to Saint Francis, Birkhead knocked down four three-pointers to collect 12 points and also had six rebounds, one steal and one assist.
Senior Deja Rawls (Abington) pumped in a career-high 21 points in Siena’s 77-68 victory against Monmouth on Saturday. She added four rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists. In last Friday’s 62-56 overtime win over Manhattan, Rawls had six points, including the go-ahead bucket in overtime. She added three assists, taking over sole possession of 19th overall on the team’s all-time assists list.
Freshman Taylor O’Brien (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 10 points in Bucknell’s 90-62 win over Colgate on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 71-53 win over Lehigh, O’Brien scored 11 points. In last Saturday’s 56-47 win over Lafayette, O’Brien scored a career-high 13 points.
Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) hit two free throws with 1.5 seconds left to complete a 7-0 run over the final 1:06 and give the University of Michigan a 62-58 win over Ohio State on Sunday. Munger finished with 18 points. In Michigan’s 79-78 OT win over Northeastern, Munger sank a pair of free throws with 51 seconds left in overtime, turning a one-point deficit into a one-point lead. The CB West grad's second of two foul shots turned out to be the game-winner. Munger finished with 16 points.
Junior forward Makenzie Mason (Central Bucks West) scored 17 points in the University of Scranton’s 69-45 victory at Juniata on Saturday. The CB West grad connected on 7-of-10 shots from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range. Mason, who pulled down seven rebounds in the win, has now scored in double figures in 15 games and eight straight contests overall. In Wednesday’s 58-45 win at Susquehanna, Mason had 10 points and seven rebounds. In last Saturday’s 53-36 win over Catholic University, Mason posted her fifth double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 16 points while pulling down a career-high 12 rebounds. She also dished out three assists and recorded a block and a steal. In Scranton’s 72-45 win over Moravian, Mason scored 17 points to lead the Lady Royals in scoring for the sixth time this season. She also added eight rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.
University of the Sciences sophomore Irisa Ye (North Penn) was named the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2018. Ye, a sophomore guard, helped guide the Devils to a perfect 5-0 mark during the month, including a three-game sweep in as many days over a trio of nationally or regionally-ranked programs. She averaged 22.7 points per game in that three-day stretch, including a 32-point output in a win over No. 25 Stonehill College. Ye kick started the stretch with a 17-point effort in a win at No. 2 Bentley University and followed that with 19 in a win over Assumption College. Ye holds a 3.91 cumulative GPA in her major of biomedical sciences. She has been named to the school’s Dean’s List in each of her first three semesters. Ye is also involved in several organizations, including USciences’ PreMed Society, the Black Student Union, the Asian Student Association and the Neuroscience Club.
Ye connected on 7-of-7 shots from the floor and finished with 16 points in No. 11 University of the Sciences 75-63 win over Post on Saturday. Jess Huber (North Penn) made 3-of-6 three-pointers en route to a season-high 13 points. She also tied for the team lead with a career-best four assists. In Wednesday’s 83-39 win over Wilmington, Ye (12 points) and Huber (10 points) finished in double figures. Ye also had six rebounds and four assists. Mikaela Giuliani (North Penn) also had four assists. In last Saturday’s 61-58 win over Felician, Jordan Vitelli (Central Bucks South) led all players with a season-high 23 points, setting her career best with eight field goals and tying another with six trifectas. Ye added 18 points and two steals, and Huber had six points and a career-best five rebounds.
Junior Allison Chernow (Upper Dublin) scored 10 points in Emory’s 71-57 loss to Case Western on Friday. In last Sunday’s 60-57 setback to No. 17 University of Chicago, Chernow scored 11 points. In last Friday’s 77-69 loss to Washington University, Chernow scored all 18 of her points over the final two quarters, closing out the evening 5-of-11 from the field including three treys in seven tries while sinking five of her six attempts from the foul line.
Taylor Dunn (Central Bucks South) scored 14 points in Arcadia’s 64-51 loss to Widener on Wednesday. In Arcadia’s 70-68 loss to Lebanon Valley, Dunn scored a game-high 27 points and also had four steals.
Sophomore Lexi Edwards (Central Bucks South) scored 12 points in Cabrini’s 89-68 win over Neumann on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 86-56 victory over Immaculata, Edwards paced the offense with a season-high 20 points in just 17 minutes. The sophomore guard shot a near perfect 7-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-3 from the beyond the arc. She connected on all four of her free throw attempts. In last Saturday’s 84-50 victory over visiting Wesley College, Edwards had 10 points. In Cabrini’s 75-45 victory over Marywood, Edwards needed just 16 minutes to rack up 15 points.
Ursinus College junior Lydia Konstanzer (Pennridge) was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6. Konstanzer extended her streak of double-doubles to five consecutive
games with two huge stat lines in victories over Immaculata and Franklin & Marshall. The junior scored 17 points and racked up a career-high 18 rebounds in the Bears’ 54-38 triumph at Immaculata, reaching the highest rebounding total by a Bear since 2012. Konstanzer deposited 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to help Ursinus hold off F&M in a 96-89 overtime thriller. A team co-captain, Konstanzer logged seven steals in those two games, including five against Franklin & Marshall. She totaled 13 offensive rebounds and four blocks. It is the third weekly honor of her career.
Konstanzer scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half to push her double-digit scoring streak to eight in Ursinus College’s 73-51 win over Swarthmore on Saturday. She also added 11 rebounds in 22 minutes of action for her ninth double-double. She snared nine of her rebounds in the first half. In Wednesday’s 61-53 win over Franklin & Marshall, Konstanzer had 14 points and nine rebounds. She also had four assists and a pair of steals. In last Saturday’s 71-59 loss to Johns Hopkins, Konstanzer hit the 1,000-point mark for her career with a jump shot in the third quarter, becoming the 15th Ursinus woman to do so. She finished with 10 points, exactly the amount she needed for the milestone. Konstanzer joined her sister Carolyn, who scored her 1,000th point for the Bears in 2014. In the Bears’ 68-53 win over McDaniel, Konstanzer piled up 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bears to their third straight win.
Millersville Unversity freshman Samantha Brusha (Abington) was named PSAC East Women’s Basketball
Freshman of the Week for the week ending Jan. 6 after scoring 30 points and shooting 62.5 percent (10-for-16) in the team’s two games against Shepherd and West Chester. This marks the second time this season Brusha has received the honor. Against Shepherd, Brusha came off the bench and scored a team-high 17 points while shooting 5-for-7 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. She also pulled down a team-high six rebounds and added three steals. Brusha had another strong showing against West Chester, totaling 13 points and a career-high five steals. She notched a 55.6 shooting percentage (5-for-9) and made all three of her three-point attempts. Brusha also tied for the team lead with six boards and tallied two assists and one block. Brusha leads the team with a 45.5 three-point percentage and is second on Millersville with a 46.2 shooting percentage. She is also third in points per game (8.2) and tied for second in steals per game (1.0).
Brusha finished with 13 points, two steals, two assists and four rebounds while shooting 62.5 percent (5-for-8), including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc in Millersville’s 74-65 loss to Bloomsburg on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 55-47 win over Mansfield, Brusha tallied a team-high two blocks, the first multi-block game of her career.
Devan Rimmer (Pennridge) tied for team-high honors with 16 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists in Widener’s 64-51 win over Arcadia on Wednesday. In last Saturday’s 81-74 loss to Stevenson, Rimmer dropped a season-high 35 points. The Pennridge graduate connected on six three-pointers, and she also led the team with four steals.
Taylor Thames (North Penn) scored 15 points in Kutztown’s 66-55 road win at Shippensburg last Saturday. In KU’s 72-70 win over Edinboro, Gabbi Wright (Cheltenham) scored the go-ahead basket with 1.4 seconds remaining. Wright presented problems for the Fighting Scots all game long. The sophomore scored 11
of her career-high 20 points in the first half, going 4-of-6 from the field (2-of-3 from three) in just 10 minutes. Wright scored five points in the final 2:05, including her traditional three-point play in the final seconds that put the Golden Bears ahead for good.
Thames was named to the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Organization Scholar-Athlete Team for the second straight year. She is one of three Golden Bears to start all 16 games this season. She is fourth on the team in scoring (6.7 ppg), third in assists (2.1) and second in steals (1.5). A sports management major, Thames has a 3.99 GPA and has earned a spot on the Dean’s List seven times. She was named to the Dean’s List honors following the 2018 fall semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.
Alynna Williams (Plymouth Whitenarsh) became the 34th player in Rams’ history to reach the 1,000-point plateau in Jefferson University’s 77-54 win over Post last Saturday. The PW graduate hit the milestone with a three-pointer with 26 seconds remaining. Williams closed the night with 11 points, four assists, one rebound and one steal. In Jefferson’s 64-35 win over Georgian Court, Williams scored 10 points. In Jefferson’s 91-50 win over Nyack, Williams scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting with six assists, one rebound and one steal. In Jefferson’s 91-86 win over Chestnut Hill, sophomore Sabria Lytes (Harry S Truman) scored 11 points off the bench.

FIELD HOCKEY
West Chester University senior Marissa Elizardo (North Penn) was named to the 2018 PSAC Fall Top 10 list.
To be a candidate for the PSAC Top 10 Award, a student-athlete must achieve a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials. Voted on by the conference’s sports information directors, a total of five men and five women are selected as award winners after each season. The recipient of the 2018 PSAC Champion Scholar award for field hockey, the senior goalie also was named to the 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-America first team. Elizardo carries a 3.98 GPA as a middle grades preparation major (with minors in mathematics and psychology). With Elizardo backstopping the defense, West Chester spent six weeks as the No. 1 ranked team in the country and won the program’s second consecutive PSAC title after defeating Shippensburg 3-1. The Golden Rams entered the 2018 NCAA DII National Championship as the top-seeded program in the tournament but ultimately fell to Shippensburg in the semifinals. Between the pipes, Elizardo finished her senior campaign with a 17-3 overall record with a conference-best seven shutouts and a 0.99 goals-against average. The North Penn graduate was chosen as a 2018 Longstreth/NFHCA Division II All-American (first team) while being named Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area and first team All-ECAC in 2018.

Senior Tyler Chamberlin (Springfield Township) was part of the winning 200 medley relay team that posted a time of 1:40.16 in Albright’s 117-82 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday.
Mark Preedy (William Tennent) was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay that set a pool record with a time of 3:20.28 in Arcadia’s sweep of Messiah (172-85) and King’s (145-117) in last Saturday’s tri-meet. Preedy finished in the top three in three individual events. The Tennent graduate was first in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:01.20. He was second in the 100 freestyle (49.63) and third in the 200 IM (2:04.39).
Brad Johnson (Central Bucks West) was part of the winning 200 medley relay with a time of 1:30.77 in Penn State’s 151-104 win over Bloomsburg. In Friday’s 173-122 win over West Virginia, Johnson was part of the first place 200 medley relay with a time of 1:29.61. He also finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.85).
Ridge Hagar (North Penn) won the 50 free with a time of 22.82 and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:32.52) in Messiah’s sweep of Stevenson (132-32) and Immaculata (140-35) in Friday’s tri-meet. He also was part of the second place 400 medley relay (4:01.50). In last Saturday’s tri-meet against King’s (83-172) and Arcadia (85-172), Hagar was part of the second place 200 medley relay (1:41.90) and second place 400 free relay. He finished second in the 100 backstroke (55.69) and second in the 100 back (55.69).
Senior Maxwell Coulter (Pennridge) was part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:37.40) in Ursinus College’s 144-118 win over Susquehanna on Friday. Freshman William Clift (William Tennent) finished second in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.39.
Junior Jeff Beyer (Wissahickon) was a double winner in Shippensburg’s 112-75 win over Edinboro last Friday. Beyer touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle (1:43.53) and 500 freestyle (4:54.42). Both are PSAC qualifying times. He also was part of the second place 200 free relay (1:34.40).
Junior Corey Smith (North Penn) posted two PSAC qualifying marks in Bloomsburg’s 151-104 loss at Penn State University on Saturday.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Freshman Morgan Scott (Pennridge) was part of the winning 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:38.83 in No. 14 Indiana’s 172-128 loss to No. 2 Michigan on Thursday.
Rachel Samson (Council Rock North) finished second in both the 200 butterfly (2:23.28) and the 200 IM (2:22.83) in Arcadia’s tri-meet split with King’s (158-104) and Messiah (84-178) last Saturday. Samson was also part of the second place 400 freestyle that posted a time of 3:51.68.
Freshman Olivia Guthy (Cheltenham) won the 500 free (5:28.40) and 1000 free (11:22.18) in Shippensburg’s 111-94 win over Edinboro last Friday. Her time in the 500 free was a PSAC qualifying time.
Haley Sutton (Hatboro-Horsham) finished first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.02 in Towson’s 194-106 win over Delaware on Saturday. She also was part of the third place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:48.53. In last Saturday’s 169-127 win over Drexel, Sutton was part of the 200 medley relay that finished third with a time of 1:46.29 and finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (58.65).
Sammy Grogan (Council Rock North) finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.30 in Widener’s 187-75 win over Cabrini last Saturday. Lauren Griffith (Central Bucks East) was part of the 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:45.09.
Stephanie Chell (Central Bucks East) was part of the first place 200 medley relay with a time of 1:50.87 in Ursinus College’s 154-108 defeat of Susquehanna on Friday. In last Saturday’s Snowbird Invitational in Fort Lauderdale, Chell was part of the second place 100 free relay (48.84).
Allison McLaughlin (North Penn) was part of Kutztown’s third place 100 free relay that posted a time of 49.13 at the Westminster Snowbird Invite in Fort Lauderdale last Saturday. She also placed third in the 300 free (3:16.87).
MEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Sophomore Brian Kaufmann (Upper Dublin) took home first place in the long jump with a best jump of 6.86 meters in Lafayette’s 100-81 loss to Lehigh on Saturday. The jump was .21 meters longer than the second place finisher. Kaufmann also came right back to win the triple jump finals as well with a best jump of 13.60 meters. The 13.60 meters was .39 meters longer than the runner-up in the event.
Freshman Michael Welde (Council Rock North) was part of Saint Joseph’s 4×400 relay that qualified for IC4A’s with a time of 3:19, good for second place in the field of 18 at the Penn 8-Team Select on Saturday. Junior captain David Bryant (Upper Dublin) finished fifth in the 60m finals, clocking a collegiate best time of 7.13. In last Saturday’s Angry Bird Challenge at Lehigh, Welde turned in the top freshman performance in a 200m field of 16, clocking in at 22.87 for fourth overall. Bryant followed up in fifth (23.36) as the duo went 2-3 out of the second section. Freshmen Kavier Linares Pennsbury) and Kyle Magee (Central Bucks South) were part of the third place 4x400m relay that recorded a time of 3:26.08.
Villanova junior Casey Comber (Hatboro-Horsham) was part of the first place distance medley relay that posted a winning time of 9:49.57 at the Wesley A. Brown Invitational last Saturday.
Ursinus sophomore Griffin McMann (Pennridge) posted a season high in the shot put at the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley on Friday. McMann hurled the shot a total of 44 feet, nine inches to finish just six inches out of first place. The toss moved McMann up one spot into fourth on the Centennial Conference indoor performance list.
Gwynedd Mercy freshman Elijah Rizzo (Bensalem) finished first in high jump with a top mark of 1.83 meters at the Collegeville Classic on Saturday. Ahmir Johnson (Wissahickon) took third in the event (1.80m). Liam Davies (Wissahickon) took third in the 60m hurdles (8.86).
George Weems (Upper Dublin) and Cameron Christopher (Wissahickon) were part of Kutztown’s 4×400 relay team that placed fourth with a time of 3:21.63 at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday. Tommy Oliver (Bensalem) posted a PSAC qualifying mark in his event. In last Friday’s Golden Bear Invitational, Weems blitzed the field in the 400m with a PSAC qualifying time of 51.43. Christopher was part of the winning 4x400m relay with a time of 3:28.97. Teagan Fortna (Central Bucks West) took second in the 1000m with a time of 2:43.76. Junior Ryan Benner (Pennridge) was third in the 200m with a time of 23.95.
West Chester’s Ori Frazier (Abington) posted a PSAC qualifying time in the 400m at the Gotham Cup on Friday. In last Friday’s Golden Bear Invitational, Frazier was fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.24.
Bloomsburg junior Owen Eisen (Pennridge) finished 11th in the long jump with a distance of 6.11m at the Friday Night Duals last weekend at the J.Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Ariz.
WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Monmouth senior Allison Taub (Council Rock South) broke the school record with a throw of 15.30 meters in the shot put at the 2019 Angry Birds Invitational at Lehigh University last Saturday. Taub became the first woman athlete in school history to register a mark of over 50 feet in the shot put. Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) won the 800m run in 2:13.81. Amber Stratz (Central Bucks South) finished fourth in the 3000m run with a time of 10:17.48.
La Salle freshman Arianna Wallace (Cheltenham) finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.75 at Fordham’s Brian Horowitz Invitational last Friday.
Villanova sophomore Cala Lejman (Wissahickon) cleared 3.20m to tie for 11th in pole vault at the Gotham Cup on Friday.
Kathleen Stevenson (North Penn) was part of Bloomsburg’s second place 4x400m relay that posted a PSAC qualifying time of 4:09.00 at the Golden Invitational at Bucknell University on Saturday. She also posted a PSAC qualifying time of 26.65 in the 200m. In last weekend’s Friday Night Duals at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Ariz., Stevenson posted a PSAC qualifying mark of 5.51m to finish eighth in the long jump. Sophomore Jessica Brenfleck (North Penn) finished fourth in the 600m run with a time of 1:45.61.
Kutztown senior Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) set a new PSAC qualifying time, finishing 12th with a time of 5:17.16 in the mile at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday. She also was part of the fourth place 4×800 relay that posted a time of 9:50.79. In last Friday’s Golden Bear Invitational, Olivia Morano (Quakertown) delivered a PSAC qualifying throw of 13.60m (44-07.50) in the weight throw. Lynne O’Connor (William Tennent) competed in her first collegiate meet in the mile, finishing with a time of 5:56.93.
Bresadola, Morano and O’Connor earned Dean’s List honors following the 2018 fall semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.
Ursinus sophomore Rachel Coleman (Wissahickon) placed third in the 200m with a mark of 27.46 and Michela Coleman (Wissahickon) finished eighth in 27.76 to go with a seventh place effort in the 400 (1:05.51) at the Collegeville Classic on Saturday.
Gwynedd Mercy senior Sara Gray (William Tennent) captured first place in the high jump (1.55m) at the Collegeville Classic on Saturday. Alyson Sharkey (North Penn) was sixth in the pole vault (2.45m).
West Chester junior Tara McLaughlin (North Penn) finished fourth in the 5,000m in 19:07.83 at the Gotham Cup on Friday night. In last Friday’s Golden Bear Invitational, McLaughlin captured first in the 3000m run with a time of 11:14.58. Caroline DiJiosia (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished sixth in the 55m hurdles and fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16-8. In the 200 meters, Cara Jackson (Souderton) finished sixth with a time of 28.34. Emma Brodhag (William Tennent) finished eighth in the long jump
WRESTLING
Top-seeded Jeff Reimel (North Penn) was the winner at 184 at the Kutztown Duals on Saturday. In No. 16 Kutztown’s 47-3 win over Queens University of Charlotte, Reimel earned a win when his opponent retired with an injury 1:21 into the match. In KU’s 40-3 win over Minot State, Reimel earned a 3-2 decision. In last Friday’s 42-6 win over Averett, Reimel earned a pin at 2:37. Mikey O’Brien (North Penn) notched as 12-5 decision at 165.
