Check out the recaps for SOL softball teams in action Tuesday.

SOL National Conference
NESHAMINY 7, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5
Sophomore Kylee Jones ripped a no-doubt-about it home run in the bottom of the seventh, plating a pair of runs and propelling the Redskins to the walk-off win.
“There were so many reasons why we could have walked in and said, ‘We beat ourselves today. With three outs and down two runs, let’s just pack it in,’” said Neshaminy coach Dave Chichilitti, whose team trailed 5-3 heading into the bottom of the final inning. “To respond the way they did was amazing. You’re a great defensive team and you mess up the way we did – you might say, ‘Oh well, we didn’t play well today,’ but they refused to not fight today. It was awesome.”
The Redskins led for the better part of Tuesday’s SOL contest only to watch the Golden Hawks rally to take a 5-3 lead in the top of the seventh. The Redskins had an emphatic answer, plating not one or two but four runs.
“The message was, ‘We’re down two runs, not one, so no one swing of any bat is going to tie this game so we need to get on base,’” Chichilitti said.
Leadoff batter Asia Barnard singled, and then it was Olivia Fee legging out a bunt single that sent Barnard to third. Fee stole second, and the Redskins had a pair of runners in scoring position.
Lianna Jones took care of business, ripping a double that plated a pair and knotted the score, setting the stage for the late-game heroics of Kylee Jones.
Fee’s 3-for-4 effort led the Redskins.
Earlier, the Golden Hawks benefitted from a Redskin error to plate a single run in the second without so much as collecting a hit. Neshaminy scored a pair in the top of the third to go on top 2-1. A solo home run from Gianna Pickens to lead off the fourth inning made it a 3-1 game. The Golden Hawks plated single runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to knot the score. In the top of the seventh, Olivia Zoldi collected a leadoff single. A walk put a pair on board, and Alex Hopko delivered a two-run double to give the Golden Hawks a 5-3 lead that turned out to be anything but secure.
Freshman Amanda Slabecki earned her second win of the season while Danielle Walters was charged with the loss.
Neshaminy (2-0, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Bensalem on Thursday, and Council Rock South (0-2) will host Harry S Truman on Thursday.

The Panthers trailed by three heading into the seventh inning. They trimmed the Indians’ lead to one but would get no closer.
The Panthers took a 4-0 lead in the second, but the Indians answered with five runs in the third. Julianna Shields delivered the big blow – a bases-clearing double. Abby Seiple followed with an RBI double.

Non-league
PENNRIDGE 4, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1
The visiting Rams erased an early 1-0 deficit with a three-run third and went on to earn the non-league win.
“One of our biggest things this year is just coming out ready to play, playing clean softball,” Pennridge coach Wendy Iadonisi said. “We definitely didn’t play clean softball, but the errors didn’t seem to hurt us. We’re going to keep working to play a clean game, being aggressive up to bat. We didn’t have good discipline with some of the pitches we were swinging at.”
In the Rams’ three-run fourth. Mac Owens delivered the big blow – a two-run double.
“We thought it cleared the fence, but the wind held it up,” Iadonisi said.
Victoria Moscariello also contributed an RBI single in the fourth. The Rams added an insurance run in the sixth. Carolyn Thrush singled and drove in a run in a contest that saw the Rams manage just four hits.
Makenna Patterson earned the complete win in the circle, allowing five hits and one run (unearned) while striking out seven and walking one.
“Makenna pitched really well,” Iadonisi said. “She sprinkled their hits – they couldn’t group them together, and we let her finish the game because she was doing so well.”
Kendal Leitner absorbed the loss for the Hatters, allowing just two hits and three runs (all unearned) in four innings while fanning six and walking four.
“She did a really nice job on the mound today – kept us off-balance, had us chasing pitches out of the zone a little bit,” Iadonisi said. “We just ended up getting timely hits. We were fortunate to be able to do that.”
Megan Mills threw the final three frames, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one.
Pennridge (1-0) will host Avon Grove on Saturday at 2 p.m. in a non-league contest, and Hatboro-Horsham (0-1) will host Upper Dublin in Thursday’s SOL opener.

PENNSBURY 14, ABINGTON 9
The Falcons erupted for eight runs in the third inning and led 13-2 lead after four, but the visiting Ghosts scored five runs in the top of the fifth to ensure there would be no early ending to the SOL opener for both squads.
“We both kind of played like it was our first game,” Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry said of a contest that saw each team commit three errors. “We said to the kids – a W is a W is a W. We’re happy with the results, but we’re not happy with some of the things that occurred. It was a little too sloppy, but it was the first game, so you have to be happy.”
Leading the Falcons’ attack were freshman shortstop Caitlyn Martell, who was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and senior Karli Haines, who was 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs.
Freshman Ainsley McClure earned the win in the circle for the Falcons. She allowed two runs in four innings – only one earned – and struck out eight.
“She doesn’t throw that hard, but she’s got a lot of movement on her pitches,” said McSherry, who used three pitchers in Tuesday’s opener that saw all 19 of his player get into the game.
Freshman Sydney Steiner was 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Ghosts. Junior, Sam Marasheski was 2 for 4 with a walk and 4 stolen bases.
Pennsbury (1-0 SOL) will travel to Council Rock North on Thursday, and Abington (0-1) will host Springfield Township on Thursday.
