The Ghosts continued their 10-year tradition of giving back to the community, teaming with the Golden Bears to help two local families with children who are battling pediatric cancer. The two teams showered the families with gifts and gift cards.
“We decided to go in a little bit of a different direction this year,” Abington coach Dan Marsh said. “We were put in contact with Kisses with Kyle, an organization that helps out families with pediatric cancer.
“We still gave holiday gifts to relieve the stress of the holidays, knowing they have a lot of stress, so they can spend their money on other expenses they’re obviously going to have with a child with cancer.”
In the game, the Ghosts jumped out to a 15-4 lead over the visiting Golden Bears, who were once again without Bean Hughes (injury).
“They had a difficult time scoring without her,” Marsh said.
